  • Do you need an amp

  • @471drummer - no

  • i frigin love this video... nice job haha

  • Man dude i installed all of it but iu got a male Y thing. U said u think its Female i think it is too. Going to radio shake tomorrow to buy the new one. Hope it works. Got a video where it shows what it does and its still all hooked up.

  • When u cut one end off the male to male 3.5mm jack, there was a white, red, and yellow wire. Where does each wire go in accordance to the positive and negative speaker wire coming from your PA speaker?

  • @AAATACOMAN - sounds like a stereo wire to me. You need a mono, it will only have 2 connections. One in a thick rubber housing(+), and one thats normal(-).

  • Hey man i got everything. But instead of useing the CB watt i bought a 100 watt amp. I was wanting to know how to hook up the Cb to the amp then the amp to the Speaker.. Well the last part isnt that hard but how should i hook up the CB to the Amp so i can get it really loud.

  • @BadMonkeyBallz - Thats one thing i've always wanted to do, just never got around to it. I'm not sure exactly, i'd have to see it.

  • @TriangleSandwiches Hey man i think i figered it out. This friday i will have all the Parts. Well just need the amp now. The whole thing cost me $160. I will put up a video on how to do it and what to buy. took me a day to figer this all out but i got it down. Soon i will have 100 watts PA system instead of 4-15 watts. i dont remember how many watts the Cb radio puts out.

  • @TriangleSandwiches Ill put up a video of yall reading my idea. Hope you can read my hand writting. But Friday i will have it all hopfully.

  • @TriangleSandwiches got to my channle and watch it. Will have new one soon

  • Brah I just installed the same 100 watt speaker from radio shack, Did almost everything you did except ran the power to the battery, and mounted the speaker near the spare tire. The speaker is ridiculously loud, thanks great video.

  • @TheCremoJames - glad it worked out.

  • @TriangleSandwiches itake it the speaker can be hit with water right just asking

  • @beastly789100 - yea, I've submerged it in mud and water many times and it still worked great

  • DO NOT RUN THE RED WIRE TO THE BATTERY! run it to a fuse in the fuse box!

  • @xXShadowRejectsXx - CB wire already has in-line fuse.

  • @TriangleSandwiches i know. i dont mean wire it to a fuse, wire it to the fuse box to a fuse, take out the fuse in a fuse box, shove the wire in the terminal and put the fuse back in, it has power and when the trucks off, it it will turn off

  • @xXShadowRejectsXx - Yea you can run it to an accessory fuse, but it barely pulls any power. Shouldn't notice any power loss if you forget to turn it off.

  • @TriangleSandwiches yea lol

  • is it illegal to have a cb in your car?

  • @andywray01 - no.

  • how do u like the cobra???? i just got it for my jeep is it pretty simple to install?

  • @mizzedikeets - its alright. I like it

  • i also have a white taco so this vid was perfect for me haha, thanks bud!!!!

  • when you attach the PA horn the the bare ends, do you keep the bare ends apart from each other? thanks

  • How would I install the PA wiring, if i wanted to listen to music out of it?

  • @superg00nsquad - not sure about that. Try using a stereo 3.5mm wire instead of mono, and plugging into a line out source on the head unit or audio player.

It will play, but will be pretty quiet. You'd have to run an amplifier through it I'm sure.

  • JUST STICK IT IN THE HOLE!!

  • do not key the mic without an antenna on it because that will fuck the cb

  • @chubbyllama7 - Your fine as long as it's in the "PA" setting.

  • @chubbyllama7 how does it fuck the CB????

  • mines not that loud, any suggestions?

  • @thephonekiller - Point down towards the ground so it resonates off at all angles, or just mount the speaker point outwards in an open area. Check connections and make sure cord is MONO. Check voltage with a voltmeter to see if you are getting a full ~12v to the CB. And if you can solder the connections to ensure the best conductivity.

  • Wow!!! Its f#$%& laud!!! ;)

  • i got it working today i was pretty suprised how loud it was. its a good thing you told me it had to be mono because i was about to make my power horn into a grill speaker.

  • @The1911aMansGun - Glad everything worked out.

  • Also, does it come with antina ?

  • @Sheqardi - no.

  • Thank you for sharing this video

Could you please tell me where can I buy the cigarette lighter adaptor? I like this kind of adaptro

    Thank you

  • @Sheqardi - Radioshack or ebay

  • thanks bro

  • did you get every thing from radioshack bro ??

  • @hitman7233 - Everything but the CB. Got that from FRYS.

  • this is a god damn lie dont waste your money on this ass hole the 3.5mm wire is bull shit.

  • @The1911aMansGun - Explain.

  • @TriangleSandwiches i m sorry to sound like a dick i have worked on this for a few hours now and i cant seem to power the power horn i have. i dont understand does it have to be a spliced 3.5mm wire or a regular one that i use for my ipod.

  • @The1911aMansGun - no worries. The black and white wires that run off the powerhorn need to connect to a wire in which has a 3.5mm male end(connects into CB). The other side of the 3.5mm wire needs to be cut. Now the wire NEEDS TO BE MONO. Stereo will not work. Sorry if I did not clarify. So the ipod wire will not work. Radioshack sells MONO wires that are 3.5mm. Once you cut off one of the male ends, strip back the wires and twist or solder them to the wires off the powerhorn.

    Lmk how it goes.

  • @TriangleSandwiches alright thanks i thought it would work with the ipod wire but know that i know i will check it out thanks man. im putting it im my dads old nissan titan he gave to me after i got my farm permit.

  • If you have it pointing down while mounted to the frame, would water affect it?

  • horrible fake accent lol

  • So is it worth buying the 100w speaker from radioshack if the radio only puts out 4 watts?

or should i just go with a 50w speaker?

  • @adam - no. The cb powers the speaker alone. You can hook an iPod to the speaker and it will play, just not very load.

  • did you have to hook up speaker to battery souce cuz my radioshack said it cant power a powered speaker?

  • where you from mate?

  • @alexsuchapimp - arkansas

  • @TriangleSandwiches you sound english?

  • @alexsuchapimp - I get that a lot idk why?

  • @alexsuchapimp - Which one?

  • Good way ill most likely do it like that

  • How would you guys recomend a Midland 1000Z compared to Maxon MCB30 and Citizen CB Radio?

  • Just an FYI do not try to only hook up a PA system to older cb radios. If you supply power to the cb without it being connected to a cb antenna it will fry the radio! It is perfectly ok with newer models. For sure do not try with any 23 channel ones and i would be weary with ones before 1995

  • @BamaBreeze606 - Thanks man. good to know

  • have you thot about mounting ORANGE BECON FLASHER LIGHTS

used on work trucks on the top of your truck.

  • @justicerobbie67 - No, but I have thought about installing a Depth Finder so I know if I am going to hit shore or not.

  • @TriangleSandwiches

were did you get your cigarette lighter adapter plug.

  • @justicerobbie67 - Radioshack

  • Where did you get the cigarette lighter adapter?

  • can you turn the volume up and down for the PA SYSTEM?

  • @elitecssplayer - yea

  • what the heck is the point of a speaker?

  • @elitecssplayer - oh there is no point it just looks really cool.

  • why would you get in trouble if you were pulled over?

  • @elitecssplayer - using a pa is illegal.

  • shitty cb radio...

  • I love the accent bro. And awesome PA setup as well.

  • i have a question about the actual cb radio, i was looking around and heard some good things and some bad things about this radio. so is it a good radio or not.

    -Ronan

  • Hello Dont turn it on without a Antenna!! You will burn it up!! DUH!!! Well too late you ruined it!!!!

  • @coltbuntline - Hello, as long as its in PA mode your fine!! DUHH!!!

  • I just got a pa system and I love it, but I don't think my parents like it. Either that or they are mad cuz I drove 30min. to get the stuff...

  • @ L33t- just run wires an mount to your frame. It doesnt need to be next to the battery.

I doubt they sell a CB radio with sirens on them. I know they sell little amps that have the PA function and many sirens and animal noises(like ice cream trucks) but with no CB SETTING.

If your CB has no antenna you will not get a signal at all, and it's supposedly bad for the radio to be switched into CB mode without an antenna.

  • @TriangleSandwiches Thanks for the help. I've decided to wait until I get a new car (in about 3-4 months) to do it - my current one has no good spot to run the wires. No hole in the firewall, and no way to run it to the trunk without modding the vehicle.

  • My car has the battery and fuse box at the back. How well do you think it would broadcast with the PA speaker mounted in the trunk? Also, do you know of any CB radio that has the PA function and a couple siren sounds built in? I'd like to be able to play a siren over the PA occasionally for events and stuff. I'd buy a plain PA with siren, but I also want the CB radio. Last but not least, what's the range like on a CB radio with no antenna?

  • Nice video I done mine a little different but it's still in there :). Go check it out

  • hide it??? is it illegal?

  • @troyatl68 - yea if ur caught using the PA. but the CB radio isn't. when i didnt have an antenna and i got pulled over the cop questioned me about it.

  • nice truck

  • this is sick thank you so much

  • when you have the white wire for the speaker did you have to cut off the metal thing (that plugs in)

  • Urs neighbors are like ( what that fucking moron are doing at this time ) lolol fucking retard..... Do something new u fuck.

  • Urs neighbors are like ( what that fucking moron are doing at this time ) lolol fucking retard..... Do something new u fuck.

  • just stick it in the hole.

  • nice and snug.

  • I just need to know what wires you plug it in to have it play over the car speakers

  • i see nothing but dirt mate

  • I have the same radio and just installed a PA. Mine is a touch quiet, I want to devise a small amplifier for it inline with the main cord to the speaker.

  • alright whats up mate

  • its not illegal to have a pa system or cb mounted in your truck dumbass

  • Great video. I'm in the process of getting all the things. Can you give me the link for the

    adapter?

  • how much noise is there from accelerating when you plug your pos./neg. into the cigarrette lighter. ive got my pluged into my fusebox. i also have a little 1 foot dildo whip but am getting 4 ft dual whips soon. what antenna do you got?

  • @Rezolutiionz - Noise? Just get 1 4 footer or larger if you can. Dual whips is are useless unless they are 8 or 9 feet apart.

  • @TriangleSandwiches Yeah. I bought 2 whips and a dual cord and a single cord. I tested it out with a friend from 7 miles away and the duals had the better reception and had range of 10+ miles. They are 4 footers and there is no background noise from the engine.

  • great work. i am doing the same to my car but what is the 12v cig with the plug things called?????

  • nice man. i am putting it in my jeep grand cherokee. When I put it in the accessory fuse box part do I have to worry about anything? Will it drain my battery?

  • @The415guy - no it pulls barely any power whatsoever when on and not in use. If you are very concerned about it draining anything, just turn it off when not in use.

Yet usually when u plug into an accessory fuse, you dont have to worry about forgetting to turn it off as it will by itself when the key is out of the ignition.

  • @TriangleSandwiches ok thanks. just installed mine with a 25 watt horn. it is louder than expected and its awesome.

  • @TriangleSandwiches how do u kno if its an accessory fuse or a fuse for like you headlights or some shit lik that?

  • @The415guy hey i have a jeep grand cherokee and it is an 98 and i put it under the bumper on the right side and it fits great i have no battery problems and i have it hooked up to the fuze box it has constant power and no problem hope this helped.

  • @bigislife nice. i want a 1998 grand cherokee. i have a 2010 grand cherokee and put it under the bumber as well and it is awesome. People can hear it real well. I did not hook it up to the fuse box. I hooked one cable up to the battery and ran a doublesided cable through the drivers door side and around the engine. I will probably be making a video of the set up sometime soon.

  • @The415guy well i hope i helped as much as i could lol i am geting a new cb today or the next so yea i will put up a video of that man sub to my channel and check it out bro.

  • Excellent, with a few good laughs. Thanks bro

  • im looking to installing a Cb in my mud truck and was wondering what a decent Cb costs nowa days? and any recomendations??

  • @Dansz71sierra 30-100 bucks USD go with a cobra 40!

  • Most annoying accent in the world, and, you know absolutely nothing about wiring or electronics. DISLIKE!

  • @SamTheSuave - KNEW nothing about wiring. Goddamnit, Knew. Past tense.

  • turn the camera around what the hell

  • @bben95 - it was a peanut butter and woodpecker stick.

  • Also a good tip for people installing a CB, never power up the radio without it being hooked up to the antenna first

  • @BowHunterAz08 - its fine as long as its in PA mode. most people doing this tut only want the CB for the PA usage and don't care about the CB capabilities.

I also mentioned it in the video on a text box i beleive

  • do you need too hook the power to the speaker too ? or it automatically gets the power from the 3.5 wire u hooked up to your cb ??

  • Comment removed

  • that truck is sick!

  • I have the same kind.

  • Thats the same excate kind. do you need a attena. how do you hook up pa?

  • Nice, but since it's under the hood, can u still hear it clearly when the hood is closed?

  • @Y0B0YCHRIS - it was muffled. i suggest mounting to the frame so its able to be heard at full potential.

  • good video now i know what kinda wires i need to buy

  • Megahorn

  • Dont you have to worry about damage to the megaborn from your engine? Or weather?

  • @TheJammedToilet - its not in the engine compartment at all, but as long as its away from moving parts ur fine.. just dont mount it anywhere near a fan or belt and ur fine lol

and no its completely weatherproof. ive submerged it completely in water and mud while offroading and it works like new.

  • good vid but just so you know you should never turn your cb on with out having your antenna hooked up it can mess up your radio

  • @greasemonkey21100 - forgot to not mention that.

  • does this cb have a built in antenna?

  • @CCSinventions - no, none do.

  • @CCSinventions aree you stupid

  • @DjMannyManhart no I don't know alot about cb dj queer

  • @CCSinventions wow your cool. you probably sit at home jack off to pictures of your mom, then fuck a FAT stripper. after that you come home and look at gay porn.

  • @DjMannyManhart how did u know 0_o

  • does it work fine with the cigarette lighter way? even though its the "Ghetto" style lol i liked that

  • @lewisx20x20x20 - Yes sir.

  • Do you recomend buying an amp for the CB so i can push more then 4 watts out of it into my speaker?

  • @crf250x33 - I am in the process of trying to figure out how to do this. I will post a video how once I figurethat out I promise.

IF SOMEONE KNOWS HOW TO WIRE THE CB TO AN AMP AND BE ABLE TO REALLY POWER THE SPEAKER TO IT'S POTENTIAL, LET ME KNOW AND I WILL MAKE A VID AND GIVE YOU A SHOUT OUT.

    OR MAKE YOUR OWN :)

  • is the 100w louder then the 25w if it only gives out for watts

  • @daniel92bustamante1 - nope same. you can get a 15w speaker and it'd be just as loud.

  • "liked" for saying the iphone is nothing special, good video

  • Haha these goddamned Toyota floor mats same problem with my granny's 03 corolla

  • Nice video, buy why not mount your stuff?

  • @MTLKEBEK - all nice and mounted now

  • @MTLKEBEK i dont know a bunch about cb but how does the whole range thing work? is it if u have a bigger antenna does it get more range or what

  • @QuadKillerSteven To get the maximum range of a cb usually you want to be a 3-4' cb antenna. Range im not to sure.

  • @MTLKEBEK - wrong. the bigger the whip the longer the range period.

  • @TriangleSandwiches buy a quality cb antenna and it doesn't need to be that long.

  • @MTLKEBEK - helps too

  • so will you still be able to listen to FM music after hooking this up?

  • @ttstars24 - Yes....

  • @vidkid- headphones should be fine. Just cut off the earbuds and run one wire to positive and one to negative. If the sound doesn't work switch the pos and neg. I think it should work fine. That's a good idea

  • @TriangleSandwiches Aright thanks if that doesnt work i got a 3.5 anyways

  • Ok I'm using a headphone wire I cut it right below the earbuds should I cut it right before it goes to 2 wires? So it's just one wire?

  • where'd you get that cigarette lighter!!??

  • Comment removed

  • i have the exact same set up as you except i sawed off my cone for space purposes. my sound isnt as loud as others are with the same speaker and i was wondering if routing extra power from the cigarette adapter to the speaker (bypassing the cb) would increase the volume more. would this work?

  • Comment removed

  • @jsanc- that's where I got mine.. But I'd like to recommend to not go that route. Wire the red directly to your positive and the black to any bolt you can find a good ground. Not only is it cleaner but it will get more power.

  • @ajd- I had the Same problem with size! Just cut the big ass plastic cone surrounding the speaker(just not the middle cylindrical piece). And take off the spring and mount so the metal circle piece is attached to the speaker only. Then find a bolt on you chasie or bumper and tighten in down through the hole.. I'll make another better video soon lol

  • @TriangleSandwiches holy shit, that is a genius idea, this that previous comment i now have my cb fully operational but am waiting for friends to get them so i might get the speaker this weekend

  • Where did you get that lighter adapter? I can't find it anywhere! The people in Radio Shack looked at me like I had two heads when I asked for one....lol

  • That's sweet thanks for tutorial I'll be doing this sometime soon.

  • I am building an ice cream truck and was wondering if you can play music through your PA system. I could purchase a Music Truck PA System for about $200 which is way to much for my budget. I do have a CB/PA in my Van but was wondering how I could hook up a IPOD to it or some other recorded gadget. Thanks.

  • @HappyEndingsRescue - ive seen ones at Oriellys that have animal noises and stuff.

  • i have the exact same cb with the antenna and same exact speaker on my mustang gt but u gotta make sure water doesnt puddle in the horn or itll stop working this happened to me when i had it faced up. it stopped working with the water but when i took the water out it worked like new again. so if u want it faced up just make sure its not gonna get water in it
