You wouldn't believe the crap I'm dealing with??? After a friend (retired mechanic) replaced this timing belt and pulleys, he didn't bother to replace the leaking cam and crank seals while in there. So they come to me to do the job and he stripped out two pulley bolt holes I had to helicoil and over stressed another pulley bolt and it broke off. He even over tightened the nut that holds the pulley for the AC belt tensioner. Needless to say, the timing belt will be easy to reinstall. lol
Hey mate, what year and model engine are we talking? the early SOHC are good as they are non interference, but all the later ones (generally after 97) are interference so its possible to bend the valves if its turned over with the belt off (hard to bend turning by hand).
It should be ok even if it is interference though as it would have been aligned when you took the belt off so wont be real far out.
A socket on the cam gear to bring it back into line should do the trick
Hey maybe you can help me I'm doing the same thing you doing. I kind off mess up on the step. Instead of rotating the crank to align all three cam after I take the crank pulley off. I took the belt off now the right cam is align but the left cam passenger side is off an it move side to side is not hard like the other other cam. Pleased I need help badddddddd thanks I can be reach at 407 492 2984 I can email you video so you can see what im talking about
