Great playing as usual. And in case you're still wondering nearly everyone who tries this piece plays closer to Escudero than PdL. I believe his version was on youtube (or had a sample somewhere) for a short time and his playing is slower and the phrases are drawn out more especially when picado is used like the section at 4 & 8 seconds in
I remember using the tick-tocks of our big wall clock (120bpm) before I owned a metronome. Try searching "metronome" on youtube and you'll find a few click tracks you can use while practicing.
@atrafana One good place is to use Spotify (free). Search spotify with these: "Solo compas flamenco", "Juana Amaya", "Jose Galvan Solo Compas Palmas", "Paquito Gonzales Ritmo Flamenco Rhythm". Spotify is full of nice "metronomes" without the headache "beep beep beep". For example there is palmas clapping (single) from 76bpm to as high as 300 bmp, also double clappings and ready rhythm backrounds (bands) without Guitar. Its a goldmine.. check it out.
If you practice with the metronome long enough, your hands will automatically play in compas when you are not using the metronome. So, my suggestion is to practice with the metronome...
ole ole ole ole. I've been learning this song for 4 years, and I still have a ton of mistakes. Some parts I play differently than you do. do u have the tabs for your version by any chance?
you are lucky to get one like it i already play with a cheap classic guitar the strings are so hard to pinking , quality of guitar can help to improve quickly?
Well, I played cheap poor quality guitars for 20 years before I had the financial means to acquire my Conde. Check my Libertango video for instance where I'm playing a 400$ beginner level Rodriguez. My first guitar was not even a classical - a barely playable piece of junk with metal strings. So, you can improve with a poor guitar too if you put your mind to it. Just warm up a lot before practicing pieces so you don't hurt yourself.
5-6 years ago, at 12th Fret (12fret.com) in Toronto, Canada, I paid, 2800 CAD, which was then roughly 2400 US. Made in 1976 and it had gone through some serious repairs.
I am not very happy about my position. Too hunched over the guitar. Gives me a backache occasionally. I think both shoulders need to be relaxed. Check out Ruben Diaz's channel for good flamenco instruction: youtube.com/user/rubendiazguitar
it is really a hard thing to get this level of playing guitar and in the same time been a university instructor . your are what i call " succesful man " i have the same purpose and i will get it
I guess it's been 25 years since I started playing. Used to practice a lot at the beginning but now about 45 mins on average per day... I am a university instructor and videographer. I occasionally do professional work with my music.
@atrafana Thanks ! I really appreciate that, coming from a maestro.
I must admit that a friend gave me a book by Juan Martin. But instead of the one for beginners, I got the one for intermediate and more advanced players. It will take years to get through it.
This is the most badass guitar playing i've ever seen in my life. Not even kidding. It's beautiful.

speaking about the compas importance in flamenco , how we can practice guitar without metronome and play the right compass or rythm
