notice that it was my opinion, not a reason of deductions. I was talking about his hurdle at the springboard diving competition. (he is olympic champion of the platform competition. with the best 5255b the world has ever seen!) His trainer will know what is best for his diving technique. From my point of view it would look much better if he payed more attention to a fluid and smooth movement. notably before does his last step. In the trials, as i saw now, it looked much better.

Well it can only get better as he is only 20 and he has one of the best coaches in the world, I believe this coach is originally from Mexico?

Please note he was second in the China Grand Prix in springboard in this year and he was one of the only 2 to compete the 2 individual events at the Olympics! I wonder why the Australians did not put it in the synchros??

some divers just don't fit into a synchro team, that doesn't mean that they aren't good enough, as you can see at he chong. He get well into second at the grandprix, but at the olympic games and at the wold championships are much better divers. that means that in the platform competition he was unbelievably great. and in the springboard competition he was "just" very good. :)
