@manocake1 A polygon is a flat shape. So for every square, rectangle etc on a model, that's a polygon. Today's video games often have 5-15,000 polygons for a human model.
this is really nice im doing a low poly character model for class i don't know how you went about it but i block modeled his torso and now im extruding the legs and arms and ive already started modeling his head which im doing differently ive just created a polygon for his eye then i well i don't know how to explain it actually but to put it simply the head is the hardest imo :l
Yar... some places where ya could have remove edge to make it even low-polier.
Still, you're almost at the limit of not enough faces for the details you wanna have. Most high-poly place, undeniabely, the face, but if you were considering animating his face, than it's ok.
Not bad at all. You might want to look at some topology reference and clean up some of those tris. This definitely looks better than my first model. Good work.
Im a little new to modeling but I still don't understand what low and Hight poly mean. If some one could help thank you...

@doublesob It honestly doesn't really matter what shape you start with, because you end up adding plenty more as it is.

I think his shoulders could use a bit more deffinition, and his head looks a bit too squarey. Other than that, I like it. Especually the hands.
