I've live in a town called Leadville near Vail, and also in Hokkaido. I know Niseko gets much more powder than resorts in Colorado. They get something like 600 inches a season, truly a powder heaven. Resorts in Colorado are fine as their terrain is better but they could go without fresh powder for weeks if you are unlucky.
