ICS Vortex and his inspired kind of voices and his awesome way as he sings...I always wish when he was in Dimmu Borgir hear one complete song but only he singing without Sharath but the rules into the bands is when Vortex was in D.B. he only did a shorts lyrics for complement the songs, but Vortex is very Great in his way as he sings...no body will not replace him in the band, and for Dimmu is a pity, 'cause they uses his sampler voices in live in concert and it notes in the stage the emptyness

He hugely expanded the dynamic of Dimmu Borgir, vocal wise counteracting Shagrath's vocal style. I dont mind that Dimmu have pushed further from their minimalist black metal ways but their single off of abracadabra wulla rabbit in a hat is pop/black metal which is fine but it also sucks. good for them trying to push the boundries but I cant help think ICS Vortex would have done wonders on this album, without knowing the inner workings of the band itself of course.

The fact that he fuses many music styles is very interesting and his voice is still amazing. What I liked most, however, is that the songs have many post rock influences.

Discussion about leaving the Dimmu by Vortex as act of getting the band better or worse is silly. Band was good without him, when he joined them it was a good band too. And now, after leaving Dimmu it will be still a very good band. I'm not going to deny that pre-Vortex Dimmu Borgir is really good, but I was just never able to get into it as much as the Dimmu featuring him. The contrast between the harsh screams and the clean melodic vocals was amazing. All of my favorite Dimmu Borgir songs are ones that have his vocals. I simply can't wait Lamented Souls' album and for Arcturus to happen again.
