  • it does not make you fat i drink a 1 2leter bottle of diet cola a day i am not fat i have not gained wight i don't have any think wrong with me . and im dieting and im losing wight with out working out .

  • Yes Americans have become fatter since eating more sweeteners , but they also now eat more Sugar and less fat . Ever since the US has turned in to a Low fat diet nation since the 70's the Country has become fatter . Its not the diet drinks that are causing everybody to become fat but the extra Sugar and Junk food your consuming .

Less Sugar more fat and Protein Simple !

  • Funny, while I lost 90lbs in 7 months I drank probably 2-3 liters of diet pop every day. I'm off it now and I'm also not losing weight anymore but I feel good at 6ft 170

  • Drinking diet soda nad using artificial sweeteners made me crave more sugar and that's why I stopped drinking it

  • I am that fat girl who will order a burger and a diet coke. because regular tastes disgusting!!!!!!!!!!! I really dont think diet drinks make you fat. rot you teeth, bloat you up, encourage acid reflux, yes. but make you fat? no. its calorieless!

  • @jennymeister "I am that fat girl" "but make you fat? no." make up your mind...

  • @awwllright1 Read what I wrote dickwad. Diet coke does not make someone fat. Eating the burger makes someone fat. Idiot.

  • @jennymeister Diet coke or any coke will help make someone fat. It's not just about sugar and calories. youtube search ...how diet soda causes weight gain or look over there>>>> for info

  • this is soooooooo booooooooooring

  • maybe that bitch with the diet drink is gaining weight because of that fucking big mac and fries idiot

  • You're grossly misrepresenting the study. The rats who gained more weight did so because they ultimately ate more calories than the other rats, not merely because they were fed artificial sweetener.

  • Based on your argument, starving people should simply be fed nutrasweet because it "induces a whole set of physiological and hormonal responses that actually make you gain weight".

  • I think fat people drink it because they think it's healthier then regular..

  • Im not drinking diet soda again

  • Interesting comment about historical timeline of artificial sweeteners and obesity. I wouldn't be surprised to find health experts prove this theory true. There are already studies that suggest people gain weight--especially in the stomach area--by drinking diet soda.

  • nonsense

  • If we are screwing with our bodies using artificial sweeteners, then how did our bodies come to no real sugar???? Answer that one?

  • U PHAT!

  • Or better yet give up the sugar completely.

  • You accredit increase in obesity to the introduction of artificial sweeteners... but I think if you compared something like the number of fast food places popping up compared to obesity you might find a direct relationship. Just a guess. But I'm for sugar all the way, the artificial stuff is crap.

  • I am a student who actually has performed several rat studies. While I agree we should look more into artificial sweetners and their effectiveness as an aid for weight loss, you are completely forgetting an important point here. People on artificial sweetners are more likely to be calorie restrictors. The rats are not. This study doesn't account for that. You could get entirely different results by using a population of calorie restrictors.

  • @mon103 Both groups of rats were fed the same number of calories, and the rats that were fed aspartame became obese. There's no need to study a group of rats with reduced caloric intake.

  • I think it would be better just to give up drinking soda altogether.I think it is just an addiction. Water is much healthier. People just consume too much junk and not enough nutrients.

  • I've been on school wrestling teams for 11 years (grammar school, high school, college) and the name of the game for us wrestlers is weight loss. I didn't do a high tech study, I didn't chemically or microscopically break anything down; but I will say, from 11 years of experience, that diet soda DOES help lose weight. In all honesty, all that it takes is will power. Diet soda makes you eat more yadda yadda yadda.. Diet soda + Less Eating + Working out = Weight Loss. That's all there is to it.

  • Does drinking diet soda make you fat? NO. Diet soda has no calories, and something with no calories doesn't cause weight gain. Enough with these stupid "diet soda makes you fat" videos. It's all propaganda.

  • @rudeawakening101 The diet soda itself isn't fattening. It merely alters your behavior so that you consume more.

  • So obviously we shouldnt be drinking soda at all, but since diet soda is just as bad for you... should we now drink real soda instead since we wont be getting chemicals?

  • Splenda?

  • glad I found your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I love the convenience of the internet.

  • I need more to be convinced lol. The use of artificial sweeteners has increased over the years, but I don't believe artificial sweeteners are even in the top10 reasons for why the obesity rate has gone up too

  • @sexxxymexi A study done on rabbits at the Babes-Bolyai University in Rumania, shows some slides using electron-microscope analysis. The first set of slides shows damage to the ventromedial hypothalamus (VMH) which is an important site for leptin production required in resisting diet-induced obesity.

You can download the study in PDF format from the following link:

  • Natural energy ... better sleep ... no withdrawals from diet drinks ... email me to find out how you can balance your body and eliminate most of the symptoms you don't like ... bradandglenda@charter.net

  • Thank you Dr. Hyman!

  • Thank goodness I ceased to be a regular diet coke drinker from 2007 on. I only drank that stuff when I went to the movies with popcorn. Even now I hardly go to the movies anymore and I'm sorta planning to not eat any snacks at all while in the theater.

  • Soda is dangerous whether diet or reguar, but have good use if you want to clean toilet and ran out of bleach, try it, it work like bleach

  • @dream2last LOLOL

  • Your video was good until you got to the end talking about artificial sweeteners and then included a natural plant such as Stevia as an articial sweetener. Stevia Reb-A comes from the Stevia plant and is one of the natural sweeteners that has allowed me to get rid of sugar cravings and balance out my metabolic system. Thus dropping a lot of weight as a side benefit. Loved the rest of the video though.

  • @jjsoccer1010 i use stevia and its excellent

  • Diet sodas have 4 times as much Aspartame has the second most aspartame-saturated foods (google it). It is a lethal and highly addictive neurotoxin and people actually go through strong withdrawal symptoms if you stop using it (but is worth going thru this in the long run!!). US Air Force specifically tell their pilots NOT to drink diet sodas cuz they were getting confused, fuzzy-headed and had problems landing planes properly. Aspartame has absolutely NO business being in our food chain.

  • I can vouch for that I tried to stop drinking coke zero and I had hella bad headaches, a shitty mood, and very tired all the time. I have to so much to do right now I have no choice but to keep drinking it until I can catch a break.

  • Oh no, that is sad to hear. If you find the right food combinations you will keep your energy level up all day. It took me a while but I seemed to have found the right combo that keeps going all day. I also exercise 6 days a week. I'm telling you it works. You may go through the withdrawals but you gotta get over them so you don't keep poisoning your body.

  • The stuff in diet soda makes the stomach plump up like a inflated tire. It's the chemical in the diet soda. It's the P word that you find in all diet soda bottles. That stuff also causes ACNE. I will NEVER drink diet soda again. NEVER.

  • @sandbar3000 It made my stomach bloat unbelievably as well. At one point I thought that my appendix was exploding.

  • one of the best vids i have ever seen. everyone needs to see this. The funny thing is that i tell people this info, and no one wants to believe it. oh well. not my body.

  • Splenda (aka sucralose) isn't any better either.

  • instead of white sugar, how about coconut sap, honey, agave syrup, brown rise syrup, orag, cane sugar?

  • @paragonflux

I've read (in a number of medical journals across multiple dietary disciplines) that organic blue agave nectar is the healthiest natural caloric sweetener. As for the healthiest natural noncaloric sweetener, that title goes to organic erythritol.

  • hey I'm adding this to the links on my related viddeo, gr8 work

  • look people.. everything makes u gain weight.. some more than others, ok eating less and healthier foods and excercise is all u need to no

  • thanks for this, will definitely use this info daily

  • I was saying this for years Thankyou !

  • It is great that you have posted this information. Drinking this toxic beverage absolutely and totally made me feel incredibly lethargic, as though all the life force inside me was being drained. It is for this reason and the various other damaging effects of aspartame that I stopped drinking it. I can say that I feel 100 percent better and more vitalized since I have stopped drinking diet pepsi and coke.

  • Is propel water not a good choice then?

  • You explain it so clearly. Thank you so much!

  • fascinating,,,thank you!

  • Xylitol IS a natural sweetener and it helps reverse cavities!

If you want a good sweetener try agave nectar instead of cane sugar. Much lower on the glycemic index plus it's about one and a half time sweeter than sugar!

Also if you look into the industry behind "BIG SUGAR" you'll see plenty of reasons to boycott this product that wreaks our health. It is still better than artificial sweetners though, yes. But it's no excuse to eat it!
