The first time i got to this boss i aw my childhood flush away. but still an easy fight even if you're mentally scared. i my partner's died early in the fight so i soloed her to death. thank god i came with 90+ potions

Wynne would have been way more useful than Oghren. You should also watch frindly fire. I don't think Alister managed to do much damage to the Brood Mother, you killed her with spells mostly. It seems that Alister would have been more useful beating the few darkspawn that swarmed you, while the main character and Morrigan beat the Brood Mother from afar.

this boss totally threw me off guard..i saw it and thought "wtf"? i used most of my potions/lyrium potions to beat her..some of the dungeons in this game are long as hell, i end up running out and selling loot just so i can pick up more..haste comes in real handy for things like that
@Th3DuTyofTpApE00 You can swap them by clicking change party on the top bar (the three people thingys) or when you leave the main party camp. I believe you only get the main party camp when you leave the city after Flemeth's hut.
I always thought it was cool how an elven broodmother will spawn shrieks, a dwarven broodmother genlocks, a human broodmother hurlocks, and a qunari broodmother ogres.
best advice i have is you should get the tentacles off and then nuke broodmother with ranged, getting close to her got me killed, equip the melee chars with a bow, and once the tentacles & darkspawn reappear, nuke the darkspawn first , then tentacles and then again range broodmother.

i always put the broodmother in the barrier, had all 4 chars running around and those ranged who didnt get targeted by the tentacles attack it.. alistair had nothing to do at all xD
when the tentacles reach 66% and 33% they disappear until the broodmother reaches a certain amount of life, then i could nuke her
the fight took me about 15 minutes (i had the fight paused about 10 minutes ;), controlling each characters movement)
the boss was not as challenging as I thought it would be but my setting was easy so yea.. I used morigan to keep casting the freezing spell and drank lots of mana potion and I have 2 warriors (me, and alistar) and 1 ranger that uses ranged weapons to attack the monster constantly. The battle lasted for a couple of minutes and the game ended before I knew it. :)

@Boikain Yea he's got like 7-8 injuries going into that fight so he was pretty much useless all the way through. :) Didn't really care to watch him since he was beyond saving anyway.

The more mages you have in your party, the easier this game becomes. On my first playthrough I was struggling through on normal spamming pots (as I did the mage tower last).
However on my second playthrough, I did the mage tower first, played as a mage, and kept morrigan with me meaning that I had 3 mages (+allistair) and could play through nightmare without much problem.
i Killed it easily with a mage character, animate dead, virulant walking bomb, thunder magic, spellbloom to boost some sp, sleep, horror, arcane shield, spirit wisp to boost atk.. it was not dificult... and i should have used some fire magic.. which i didnt cuz i was not fire specialized. is it friendly fire active.. cuz if it is i should rethink all strategy again haha.
the way i did it took forever but it worked was hide the melee at the back up the ramp and casters at the front so everyone was out of melee range, and when the spawns came id run the casters up the ramp behind the melee and deal with the spawns and go back to first plan melee were pretty useless the whole time took forever but worked. all the dude could do was throw some spit at the closest guy every 3 ish seconds

I bought 'em from traders, got some from monsters and then made them myself. Varathorn in the dalish camp has endless supplies of elfroot and the dwarven trader in camp has endless supplies of flasks. :)
Killed her on my second try. Had my rogue (dual weapon/ranged) and Morrigan standing on the platform closest, freezing Brood Mother with Cone of Cold while Ohgren and Wynne stood at the very back, Wynne healing and doing additional ranged damage while Ohgren used a crossbow on Brood Mother and took care of the darkspawn in the back.
Easier way to kill is to run back and stand on the rock. That keeps the tentacles off of you. Throw arrows+spells at BM and have warriors kill charging DS

I've kill her my 5th time. I found a strategy that's work, my party is 3 warrior and a healer mage, Wynne. The strategy is that you all focus on the tentacle first, then when all the tentacles died, then atk the fucking bitch. There won't be new tentacles spawning till she screams and a couple of darkspawn came, then you kill the darkspawm, after that focus on the tentacles again, then the Brood Mother, its pretty much easy. Important! KEEP WYNNE ALLIVE! Keep her standing on the stone.
This thing is a nightmare for me, my main has 4 injuries, ive got morrigan with 1 injury, alister fine and leliana with 1 injury (normal difficulty and no injury kits and all around level 12)
this is a nightmare, im playing as a knight, iv got Alister, Morrigan and shale. anybody give me any tips on beating her with these guys or do i need someone different.
I had no healer either, and I basically killed him with just 3 since one warrior dies early. Just put the mages way in the back on the stone where the tentacles can't reach them and make sure to spec some CC in the Telekinetic tree (prison etc) so you can take care of the bigger adds. Then just dps the boss like mad and drink pots. :)
@landis69 its simple,if not outright easy to kill this.just have everyone use ranged weapons and have your mage use some AOE spells on the broodmother for extra damage.whenever darkspawn/tentacles attack,simply have your warriors switch to melee to kill them.oh and have your mage heal everyone as well

I thought this fight would be really hard, but it turned out to be pretty easy. I killed her in two minutes. Oh how I wish record it.
Good thing I brought:
Wynne (my healing buddy!)
Morrigan (my Male Warden needs his ladylove)
Orghren (he was pretty useless, should have brought Sten.)
And I also had lots and lots of health potions.

This thing is a nightmare for me, my main has 4 injuries, ive got morrigan with 1 injury, alister fine and leliana with 1 injury (normal difficulty and no injury kits and all around level 12)

You can get your injuries away by going to your camp, though it will take quite a while to go back obviously =/

they are Rogue , warrior ,warrior , warrior
gear tiers 3 - 5
15 - 18 injuries..... im playing on normal
do i need to restock or addapt a new stragity??? help????

Let the melee tank/kill those tentacles and put ranged on those rocks.. shooting the boss.
melee finishes off the adds.. and ranged just needs to keep everyone alive.

I can't kill this thing...I have no healer. tempted to just roll with 4 warriors and hope I just kill it fast.

I had no healer either, and I basically killed him with just 3 since one warrior dies early. Just put the mages way in the back on the stone where the tentacles can't reach them and make sure to spec some CC in the Telekinetic tree (prison etc) so you can take care of the bigger adds. Then just dps the boss like mad and drink pots. :)

i didnt try telekinetic weapon.. how good is it ? it atks while you are casting also ?

@landis69 Don't ever roll with four warriors. Always have a healer or allot of health potions.

@landis69 its simple,if not outright easy to kill this.just have everyone use ranged weapons and have your mage use some AOE spells on the broodmother for extra damage.whenever darkspawn/tentacles attack,simply have your warriors switch to melee to kill them.oh and have your mage heal everyone as well
