OMG!! This is so awesome! The X Files is my new obsession. I bet that was very expensive. I love how it has that extra stuff in the little black drawer and all the seasons. I have Season one, Fight the Future, season six, and the second film that was in production when your set was released. I've gotten the sets individually for a good price but I love how it all fits neatly in the box and how the movie fits snug between seasons 5 ad 6. I haven't gotten the rest yet.
@EshnehGaming theyre both as good as each other, both phenomenal programmes, if i had to choose a better show out of the 2 id probably just choose the x files , only just tho, both sensational, up there with the reimagined bsg !!
@TSHUETT Yes, all the seasons are in the proper aspect ratio. Season 1-5 are 4:3, 6 onward was actually shot 16x9, and that's how they're presented here. Nothing has been cropped.
@Zaranyzerak Just to clarify. I know seasons 6 onwards were shot at 16.9 and therefor presented at 16.9.
and that seasons 1- 5 were shot at 4.3 BUT are seasons 1-5 still presented at 4.3 OR have they been scaled to 16.9 for continuity into seasons 6 onwards?
@TSHUETT Yes, I know what you mean. Season 1-5 are 4:3 on the set, they haven't been cropped to 16:9. All the seasons are presented in their correct aspect ratios. Watching them on my 4:3 TV, they fill the screen and the 16:9 episodes appear letterboxed. on my 16:9 display, the 4:3 episodes appear pillarboxed and the 16:9 episodes fill the screen. They're all correct and un-cropped/altered.
Does your version of the episode "Triangle" from the sixth season look okay to you? Mine looks like it's in really low resolution. Every other episode in my set looks fine though.
I've been through 3 of these sets, factory sealed, in the past 5 months and all of them have been defective. Most episodes skip and get distorted. All the discs seem to have a series of scratches in the same spot on each disc, as if it were a manufacturing issue. I've seen reviews of others having this same issue. Really, it's plain unfair. I really wanted this.
@Webhead731 This may be a silly question, but are you absolutely sure it was the official set and not a Chinese Bootleg version? I had two of these sets and experienced no playback issues. The only reason I had to return the first set was because one of the discs was a duplicate, so I was missing one.
Yes, I know what you are talking about. I did get one of these back in December from an ebay seller. The lack of the drawer and shitty looking box gave that away. I sent it back to the guy and he never gave me a refund, and ignored me, so I had to file a claim.
THEN I went to Amazon, and have gotten 3 defective (USA) box sets. Granted, the replacement I got last time was opened by the seller "to check" the discs, it could have been the same one I sent back. It was beat up.
@Zaranyzerak and @Webhead731 how does the Chinese version comes? i mean does it have the drawer and the book and isn't it smaller than the official R1 set? Please answer ...
Nifty huge box set there, if I get lucky and save and save and save AND save, I'm so picking up the box set, I'm watching the first series recently and I'm surprised I'm enjoying it LOL
I saw it for £69 near where I live and I wanted if so bad but I'm saving up for other things! This review makes me want it even more so one day I WILL get this! :)
@SparodyTV I bought it the week it came out. I didn't do this review the SECOND I got it, I had owned it for a while by this point. 300 dollars is what it was going for in my area at the time. It now goes for less, obviously. Amazon wasn't an option for me at the time.
It was one of those slim packs without the drawer, my dad bought one too after the release of the latest x-files movie and got it with the box I think
@player836 Just download the first season with Utorrent, if you don't like the show don't bother, but if you're a big sci fi fan you're gonna want the set after you see the first season. It's an amazing show.
@player836 I DEFIANTLY recommend watching this show. I used to watch it as a teenager, but after a few years ya know, girlfriends happen and what not. But my wife and I have been watching it on Netflix (streaming) and it's such a GREAT show. We're on the middle of season 5 right now. So if you have Netflix, just watch it there, that way you can see if you like it. When I can afford it, i'd like to have this set to add to my collection.
@sgtpepper1138 Make sure you watch the first movie between Seasons 5 and 6! Pretty MAJOR chapter in the Mythology, and it takes place right between the end of Season 5 and the start of Season 6. :)
@sgtpepper1138 Not to mention it's just a great movie. :) But even greater when watched in the right spot in the midst of the main continuity of the series.

@gaozhi2007 Nope, no scratched discs or playback problems. The only issue we had was the first version we bought had a duplicate disc in one of the seasons. So we just took it straight back to the store and exchanged it for a new set, no hassle.
I got this for my birthday, and I'm so happy that I did! This is my all time favorite show of all time! I even have a tattoo on my chest for this series. Thanks for the video review!
Can you please tell me if the extras include the "Behind the truth" segments? As far as I know, those segments were only aired on TV during commercial breaks. I'd be really nice if they were part of the extras as well.
@Tastylettuce12 Those originally aired on the FX Network when they repeated the show. And the good news is....they're all there! Looks like there were 62 Behind The Truth segments total, and they're all on the extras discs spread across the Seasons 1-5 sets.
Purchased this for $135 brand new with free shipping off ebay... I know what a steal. I already had the slim packs of seasons 1-4, but I figured it would cost more to buy the slim packs of seasons 5-9, and this complete collection comes with more features. So, I'll be selling my slim packs on ebay now, lol!
@w1seguys And I'm sure that would look great displayed on my shelf. Not interested in streaming video, thanks. Physical media with cool packaging all the way!
@chrismmann51 She is, sometimes. She's in a lot of my package opening videos, has done a couple of movie reviews with me, and was in all 41 parts of my Dead Space walkthrough. Plus lots of random vids here and there. She's just busy, so can't be in my vids all the time.
Yep, all the interactive games are there. As far as I can tell, it's all the exact same discs that were in the old season sets, just re-packaged. The only new disc is the one that has all 4 Mythology Featurettes on it.
I just got one. It is like a slim version of your set. The only way I can describe the size is around 1/3 the size of yours. No secret compartment, so it only came with the seasons/movie and their cases. The only thing that pisses me off is the cases. The way the dvds are held is alot worse than they way the are held in yours. I'm still happy I have the set, but I'd rather have the same one you have with all that extra stuff included.
Hmmm...sure it's an official release? I'm not aware of a slim version of this set being released, only ever seen the version I have in stores (as recently as Christmas). I know the UK version is slightly different packaging, is that the one you got?
I sure hope not. I don't have a region free dvd player. And if I remember correctly the UK is region 2. There is a copyright thing from fox on the bottom so I assume it's legit.
Excellent review; very thorough and I enjoyed seeing how the packaging is put together. I just ordered this set for myself -- these days the prices are too good to pass up; new and factory sealed for around $165.
When Fox first started releasing the VHS tri-packs (three tapes per box) I started buying them. As I recall, those tapes had the little intro interviews with Chris Carter as well.
if u don't understand "end game" then u probably haven't seen "colony" which is part 1 of a 2 part episode. if u haven't seen season 1 though that is where u need 2 start at least the mythology episodes, but ALL the episodes r great.
the only complaint i have with the box set is the region 2 boxset is different, its just a box with the dvds in, there is no flap or draw with any of the extras, when i say extras i mean comic and cards etc, its still a nice boxset but i should have bought the region 1 version. i have noticed that a lot with the u,k complete boxsets. they just seem to make them basic boxsets over here, which sucks for me
hi my friend, helpme, i have all the season in unit dvd box set, this dvd set has other extra, let me say you, i'm chilean, here we import the dvd's, the chilian edition are very ugly, buy dvds in amazon or other similar web site is so so expensive, the price is the double for diferent tax and ticket in airplane...but last year i did see in amazon your box set very cheap, the price of the complete serie was the price of the one season...i need you advice...buy this dvd set or wait for bluray
I highly doubt we'll be seeing the series on Bu-ray for a very long time yet, since only the last 4 seasons were even done in HD. The studios are focussing on full HD shows at the moment, we won't be seeing SD stuff released on Blu-ray until the format has long since caught on. I'd get it now.
Actually, none of the show was done in HD. The episodes were shot on film, but edited on standard-def video. When the show switched to widescreen, they were aired on what at the time was Fox's "Enhanced Definition" channel before Fox actually switched to HD. The only way they could put the show out in HD would be to find all of the original film elements and reedit every episode from scratch, even readding special effects in many cases. This will likely never occur.
Ah, so the same situation as the Star Trek shows (aside from TOS of course). That's a shame. But never say never - if there's a buck to be made, they'll do it at some point. It would be a lot easier to "re-contruct" a show like X-Files than it would be to do the same with the Star Trek shows. Such a shame that the whole "shoot on film, edit/master on SD video" thing was the trend through most of the 80s/90s.
Indeed it is :( However given the way Star Trek TOS has sold on Blu Ray I'm still holding out hope that Paramount will see TNG especially as worth the investment. X Files was so huge that Fox may do the same.
Also consider when this video was posted - we bought the set shortly after it came out (release week, actually). Be wary of bootleg sets on ebay. A lot of complete series sets that go for cheap are actually Chinese bootlegs. Read the feedback VERY carefully, and compare every little detail of the description and pictures to make sure you're getting what you think you're getting. That said, yes I'm sure you can find a good deal on this set if you hunt around a bit. Just be careful.
WOW,I have always wondered what thefirst TV Show on DVD was! I got hooked on it believe it or not by the TRAILER of the Second movie! Still havent got the Complete set,but I surely want! Good Job dude!!!
Does anybody know that episode where this lady has three sons that are inbreeds and they go around killing people. and beat this guy whos hiding under the bed. and later someone hides in the back of a classic caddilac? help me out
Oh man, that episode is creepy as hell. That one's called "Home" and it's the 3rd episode of Season 4 (in production order, of the second episode in original airdate order) Either way, you'll find it on the first disc of any of the Season 4 DVD sets.
hi. i'm chilean x-files fan, i have all x-files season, but separate editión...this versión is very pretty...last year Chris carter visited my country, in that oportunity, Cris sigme a Dvd, and i dis cant to shake you hand...hug from chile
My uncle is a big fan of this show. I remember when the series was in its prime and Gillian Andersen was voted the sexiest woman on FHM. How things changes.
Respekt. I' am at the beginning of Season 1. In the past i have seen soom episodes of the x-files but i never saw the hole show from episode 1 to 202. So i' am having fun now to watch them all in a row (the most never seen before!). Even totay i watched Episode 3 (Squeeze) so there is much much more to come. But in the last couple of years i have been watching all episodes of CSI:Crime Scene Investigation that are on DVD (Season 1-8 182 Episodes) So it should work.
Well, the extras are really top-notch. That's the main difference - there are far more season-specific extras in the complete set than there are in the slim sets. Each season contains an additional disc devoted entirely to extras, in addition to all the extras included on the episode discs. So it's really up to you - if you want more extras, get the set. If just want the show with a handful of extras, get the slim sets.
I have the complete slim set, because I couldn't afford this amount at that time and had to buy them one at a time. Recently I have been able to purchase this and yes, it is worth it. It's a very nice set!
Because torrents tend not to be anywhere near DVD quality. Not to mention I don't support the illegal downloading of material that is available officially. If no one buys the DVDs, then we don't get releases of OTHER stuff.
I have all 9 of the individual slim pack sets... I'm about to sell them to buy this.
I've seen every episode, most of them at least twice, and I really do consider myself a hardcore X-Files fan... Would the extra features alone be worth it for me? There are virtually no special features on the slim pack sets, and I really would like some.
In a word...YES! Every season comes with a disc of nothing but Bonus Features, so that's 9 discs of bonus stuff for the series, then there's a ton of extras with the movie as well. I've barely made a dent in the extras so far...hehehe.
The lack of extras was actually why I skipped the slimpack sets, then just the PRICE was why I passed on the original releases. This set gives you the whole works at a much more reasonable price, imo.
Can anyone confirm whether or not the transfers on this set are identical to those on the previously released individual releases? The cover art on each disc in the first season he showed is identical. As of last week I've been picking up the individual sets for only $19 at Wal-Mart. I have seasons 1-5 and will be getting 6-9 by next week. Only downfall is they don't include the bonus discs. No big gripe given the price I've been paying. Just wondered if the transfers were improved for this
Yes, they are the exact same transfers. In fact, they are the exact same DISCS that were in the individual sets, just in the new packaging.
And as you said, no extras in the slimpack editions. The only way to get all the extras is to get the old, larger season sets plus the Mythology set, or to get the Complete Series set.
Thanks very much for the quick reply. To be honest, I'm not too concerned about extras. Very rarely do I watch them with any set. So when I saw the slimpacks for under $20, I couldn't resist, even if it meant losing out on the 7th bonus disc. Good to know the discs with the episodes themselves are identical. The episodes are why I buy TV on DVD in the first place. I know last year's "Sopranos" complete series released differed from the original releases as PQ and AQ improved greatly.
Thanks for your review. I'm really considering purchasing this, and was wondering if there are any interviews w/ Gillian Anderson included in the extras concerning working and running outdoors and if she ever got injured while filiming the series.
I thought I explained in the video - I added the soundtrack CD and the old art cards, since everything fit nicely in the drawer at the bottom. Everything else was included.
Hi this collection is so cool,i am thinking of buying one. Now the ultimate question is : With the show expected to come out on Blu.ray any time now , can that mean that our complete collection will meet the same fate as the laserdisc format with the DVDs being replaced by HD quality Bluray ?
Well, there hasn't been any official word on a Blu-ray set of the series yet, but given that Seasons 6-9 were all filmed in HD I would imagine it's only a matter of time. And yes, eventually DVD will be replaced by Blu-ray just as LD was replaced by DVD. It might take a bit longer, since DVD is more widespread than LD ever was, but it'll happen.
You don't really focus much on the actual show itself, but more so on the content of the box. That actually is ok though. Everyone has a style. All in all the actual product itself, you did a great review on.
Well yeah, this is a review of the set, not so much of the show. Most people already know about the show, so I just focussed on the contents of the set.
Lol, I was lent the First Season and if i get hooked on it as I did on that Ill be done in less than that lol. Theres just one episode I'm going to have to watch with someone else as I've been told that one is very very disturbing and freaky. I think it's in season 4 and it's called 'Home' or something. Lol.
The Region 2 version is the same outer box/artwork, but there are some differences - for one, the seasons aren't in booklets with the paper sleeves for the discs like the R1 set. Instead, they're in plastic cases for each season (presumably more durable, and less likely to damage the discs). Also, there aren't any bonus goodies (no comic, no poster, no drawer in the bottom of the box). But in terms of the discs, the contents are the same. Just PAL encoded R2 instead of NTSC R1.
Darn, I wish I saw this before buying those slim packs. I got them for $14.99 each during cyber Monday, so I guess I got a good deal... but I want the extras!!!
Oh well, maybe I'll wait till Fox "triple dipps" a new set!
Just to say, the only new bonus features in this box as compared to the original individual sets is the mythology disc. That is not great - its just a recap of the show. No real insights. I bought the box set and hated the packaging. Damages easily and not very cool. I like individual volumes. So I found on e-bay the original thick sets for 200. Soo much better- and I gave my old one as a christmas present.
Actually, I've found that in comparison to some other complete series' sets that use the "sleeves," that the X-Files one is fair less potentially damaging to the discs. Mainly because the sleeves used aren't as tight as in some other sets. Plus, for people who have massive collections (like us), space is a constant concern. So the fact that it takes up far less shelf space is a big plus for us. Plus I like the drawer in the bottom, so I can have all my X-files stuff together.
As for contents, I'm something of a completist. So regardless of how "cool" a particular featurette may be perceived to be by some, I still want it in my collection. And besides, sometimes it's useful to have a capsulated video overview of such a massive saga as the Mythology storyline. So rather than buying ALL 9 season sets AND the Mythology sets just to have all the extras, this set makes it far more convenient. Good deal you got on the season sets - new or used?
Thank you so much! I have been saving up money for this set for ages, but have been in two minds whether to actually buy it. But you have convinced me that i should! So Im gonna buy it this week! Thanks!
very very nice boxset - i think i am going to pick this one up too. It is the same price as the West Wing set i got (about 250 dollars) . This set looks killer - thanks for showing it. Have a great day
I bought these seperately at 20 pounds each - i live in the UK, I love them I havent had chance to watch the last 3 seasons yet but im planning too soon
Sounds like you're near the same point we're at - we're about a third of the way into Season 6 at the moment, slowly working our way through (we take breaks to watch other stuff too)
Thanks very much! Brilliant! Getting.

Can you please tell me if the extras include the "Behind the truth" segments? As far as I know, those segments were only aired on TV during commercial breaks. I'd be really nice if they were part of the extras as well.
Tastylettuce12 1 year ago
@Tastylettuce12 Those originally aired on the FX Network when they repeated the show. And the good news is....they're all there! Looks like there were 62 Behind The Truth segments total, and they're all on the extras discs spread across the Seasons 1-5 sets.

So, I'll be selling my slim packs on ebay now, lol!

I don´t know if you know this , but the original DVD sets had interactive games on them. Does this one have that?

Yep, all the interactive games are there. As far as I can tell, it's all the exact same discs that were in the old season sets, just re-packaged. The only new disc is the one that has all 4 Mythology Featurettes on it.

Maximusmadrica 2 years ago
I just got one. It is like a slim version of your set. The only way I can describe the size is around 1/3 the size of yours. No secret compartment, so it only came with the seasons/movie and their cases. The only thing that pisses me off is the cases. The way the dvds are held is alot worse than they way the are held in yours. I'm still happy I have the set, but I'd rather have the same one you have with all that extra stuff included.
watsupmnerds 2 years ago
Hmmm...sure it's an official release? I'm not aware of a slim version of this set being released, only ever seen the version I have in stores (as recently as Christmas). I know the UK version is slightly different packaging, is that the one you got?
Zaranyzerak 2 years ago
I sure hope not. I don't have a region free dvd player. And if I remember correctly the UK is region 2. There is a copyright thing from fox on the bottom so I assume it's legit.

Excellent review; very thorough and I enjoyed seeing how the packaging is put together. I just ordered this set for myself -- these days the prices are too good to pass up; new and factory sealed for around $165.
When Fox first started releasing the VHS tri-packs (three tapes per box) I started buying them. As I recall, those tapes had the little intro interviews with Chris Carter as well.

the only complaint i have with the box set is the region 2 boxset is different, its just a box with the dvds in, there is no flap or draw with any of the extras, when i say extras i mean comic and cards etc, its still a nice boxset but i should have bought the region 1 version. i have noticed that a lot with the u,k complete boxsets. they just seem to make them basic boxsets over here, which sucks for me

juanfco76 2 years ago
I highly doubt we'll be seeing the series on Bu-ray for a very long time yet, since only the last 4 seasons were even done in HD. The studios are focussing on full HD shows at the moment, we won't be seeing SD stuff released on Blu-ray until the format has long since caught on. I'd get it now.
Zaranyzerak 2 years ago
Actually, none of the show was done in HD. The episodes were shot on film, but edited on standard-def video. When the show switched to widescreen, they were aired on what at the time was Fox's "Enhanced Definition" channel before Fox actually switched to HD. The only way they could put the show out in HD would be to find all of the original film elements and reedit every episode from scratch, even readding special effects in many cases. This will likely never occur.
Motorheadache95 2 years ago
Ah, so the same situation as the Star Trek shows (aside from TOS of course). That's a shame. But never say never - if there's a buck to be made, they'll do it at some point. It would be a lot easier to "re-contruct" a show like X-Files than it would be to do the same with the Star Trek shows. Such a shame that the whole "shoot on film, edit/master on SD video" thing was the trend through most of the 80s/90s.
Zaranyzerak 2 years ago

I already own Seasons 1-4 slim sets and the original movie, is it worth buying the seasons again in the collector's set?
thatkrazyguyukno 2 years ago
Well, the extras are really top-notch. That's the main difference - there are far more season-specific extras in the complete set than there are in the slim sets. Each season contains an additional disc devoted entirely to extras, in addition to all the extras included on the episode discs. So it's really up to you - if you want more extras, get the set. If just want the show with a handful of extras, get the slim sets.
Zaranyzerak 2 years ago
Hi, do the extras include bloopers also? Just curious. Mine will be here Monday. So excited! Thank you for introducing me to this set!
titanic2191 2 years ago
I have the complete slim set, because I couldn't afford this amount at that time and had to buy them one at a time. Recently I have been able to purchase this and yes, it is worth it. It's a very nice set!
titanic2191 2 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
yea exactly why bother buy them in the first place just use an invention called torrents lol
TheEgyptianOne 2 years ago
Because torrents tend not to be anywhere near DVD quality. Not to mention I don't support the illegal downloading of material that is available officially. If no one buys the DVDs, then we don't get releases of OTHER stuff.
Zaranyzerak 2 years ago
I have all 9 of the individual slim pack sets... I'm about to sell them to buy this.
I've seen every episode, most of them at least twice, and I really do consider myself a hardcore X-Files fan... Would the extra features alone be worth it for me? There are virtually no special features on the slim pack sets, and I really would like some.
ConnerMello2 2 years ago
In a word...YES! Every season comes with a disc of nothing but Bonus Features, so that's 9 discs of bonus stuff for the series, then there's a ton of extras with the movie as well. I've barely made a dent in the extras so far...hehehe.
The lack of extras was actually why I skipped the slimpack sets, then just the PRICE was why I passed on the original releases. This set gives you the whole works at a much more reasonable price, imo.
Zaranyzerak 2 years ago
Can anyone confirm whether or not the transfers on this set are identical to those on the previously released individual releases? The cover art on each disc in the first season he showed is identical. As of last week I've been picking up the individual sets for only $19 at Wal-Mart. I have seasons 1-5 and will be getting 6-9 by next week. Only downfall is they don't include the bonus discs. No big gripe given the price I've been paying. Just wondered if the transfers were improved for this
tmlfan1977 2 years ago
Yes, they are the exact same transfers. In fact, they are the exact same DISCS that were in the individual sets, just in the new packaging.
And as you said, no extras in the slimpack editions. The only way to get all the extras is to get the old, larger season sets plus the Mythology set, or to get the Complete Series set.
Zaranyzerak 2 years ago
Thanks very much for the quick reply. To be honest, I'm not too concerned about extras. Very rarely do I watch them with any set. So when I saw the slimpacks for under $20, I couldn't resist, even if it meant losing out on the 7th bonus disc. Good to know the discs with the episodes themselves are identical. The episodes are why I buy TV on DVD in the first place. I know last year's "Sopranos" complete series released differed from the original releases as PQ and AQ improved greatly.

Hi this collection is so cool,i am thinking of buying one. Now the ultimate question is : With the show expected to come out on Blu.ray any time now , can that mean that our complete collection will meet the same fate as the laserdisc format with the DVDs being replaced by HD quality Bluray ?
mrduke123 3 years ago
Well, there hasn't been any official word on a Blu-ray set of the series yet, but given that Seasons 6-9 were all filmed in HD I would imagine it's only a matter of time. And yes, eventually DVD will be replaced by Blu-ray just as LD was replaced by DVD. It might take a bit longer, since DVD is more widespread than LD ever was, but it'll happen.
Zaranyzerak 3 years ago
You don't really focus much on the actual show itself, but more so on the content of the box. That actually is ok though. Everyone has a style. All in all the actual product itself, you did a great review on.

Hey, great review!
Do you know if the Region 2 (UK) version is the same outerpackaging as your Region 1 one?
MikeCharmed 3 years ago
The Region 2 version is the same outer box/artwork, but there are some differences - for one, the seasons aren't in booklets with the paper sleeves for the discs like the R1 set. Instead, they're in plastic cases for each season (presumably more durable, and less likely to damage the discs). Also, there aren't any bonus goodies (no comic, no poster, no drawer in the bottom of the box). But in terms of the discs, the contents are the same. Just PAL encoded R2 instead of NTSC R1.

Awesome review!
Darn, I wish I saw this before buying those slim packs. I got them for $14.99 each during cyber Monday, so I guess I got a good deal... but I want the extras!!!
Oh well, maybe I'll wait till Fox "triple dipps" a new set!
NBear927 3 years ago
Just to say, the only new bonus features in this box as compared to the original individual sets is the mythology disc. That is not great - its just a recap of the show. No real insights. I bought the box set and hated the packaging. Damages easily and not very cool. I like individual volumes. So I found on e-bay the original thick sets for 200. Soo much better- and I gave my old one as a christmas present.
lordbendrix 3 years ago
Actually, I've found that in comparison to some other complete series' sets that use the "sleeves," that the X-Files one is fair less potentially damaging to the discs. Mainly because the sleeves used aren't as tight as in some other sets. Plus, for people who have massive collections (like us), space is a constant concern. So the fact that it takes up far less shelf space is a big plus for us. Plus I like the drawer in the bottom, so I can have all my X-files stuff together.
Zaranyzerak 3 years ago
As for contents, I'm something of a completist. So regardless of how "cool" a particular featurette may be perceived to be by some, I still want it in my collection. And besides, sometimes it's useful to have a capsulated video overview of such a massive saga as the Mythology storyline. So rather than buying ALL 9 season sets AND the Mythology sets just to have all the extras, this set makes it far more convenient. Good deal you got on the season sets - new or used?
