For some reason I always get these two wiring combinations confused with each other and I'm always blowing out speakers and stereo receivers in my home ... its happened so much in my life time that I got factory KLH speakers :( Everyone says they're horrible and they won't visit me now. I'm totally bookmarking this video and ANY time I wire something, I'll play it first.
ok i have a amp to take 8 ohms and i have 2 subs both are supposed to take 4 ohms each so to get this right the amp should be seeing 8 ohms if all is wired correctly? correct?
hey there, I was wondering if there is any way possible to wire two 4ohm drivers and maintain a 4ohm load for my amp (d.i.y. PA system).
As these dvc woofers that I'm using require a sizeable amount of power, wiring in 4ohm is ideal as it would allow for 1.5x more power output from my amp than if i wired in 8ohm. If not possible, would I wire in parallel or in series to achieve an 8ohm load?
I appreciate your help and for providing these tutorials =)
how about if you have your 2 dual 4ohm subs in seperate boxes already wired to a mono amp( meaning positive wire to positive terminal on amp and negative to negative on amp for each sub), what kind of impedance is the amp seeing?
hey, i just wired my own auxiliary wire for my amp so i can play music through the amp since it allows things like that. im pretty sure i did it right but the music is really soft and barely audible. do i need a power source or something?

@watas We have tons of different connectors. Just search for DISCONNECT TERMINALS on our website to find those.

@djngar
The options for wiring two 4 ohm drivers are in series for an 8 ohm load or in parallel for a 2 ohm load.
If using dual voice coil woofers, we would need to find out the impedance of each voice coil to determine wiring options.

hello, so if i have 2 x 12 at 8ohms wired parallel would the amp be at 4ohms? thanks
kurtspiano 8 months ago
@kurtspiano Hello,
Yes the amp would indeed see a 4 ohm load. Thank you so much for your business. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

@iPhoneHacking2 Yes, this would be the correct impedance of these two drivers in series.
