This was rubbish...i hate stories about war veterans...worst of all it is always portrayed like the other side were the aggressors, when 99% of the time america caused the war their veterans are whining about.

Oh for Christ's sake everything from the 80's, including the TZ episodes, were so morbid. Also, what's with the skulls the soldiers walked through? Are those dead Vietnamese civilians? No one who died shortly before would decompose rapidly enough into skeletons that quickly.

@UniversalProjectCo Two possible explanations for the skulls. They could be from earlier dead bodies and therefore, had decayed to where the skulls were exposed. The other explanation is that his mind is creating all of it, including the skulls. In other words, the skulls are not from previous dead bodies but created at that time from his mind.

@starbrander If you mean Rod Serling, he had nothing to do with it. This was from the 1980s Twilight Zone revival and Rod Serling died in 1975. That said, I thought this was downright scary the first time I saw it. Seeing it again and knowing what happens, it seems a little overdone in parts, but still good.

Pretty cool episode. Twilight episodes should be analyzed like music videos are these days. I think the story is you cannot send human beings out to west bubblefuck to fight in a shitty war and not expect that terror to come back to us. I think really that soldier probably would have been a psycho path and messed all these people up himself.

@YerJob CBS took tons of backlash for airing this. Even though the series aired in a late night time-slot, parents complained. The acting and dialogue is a bit hammy in places but it still gives me goosebumps.
