Wow how school has evolved. Homosexuality was never ever discussed then. Now i am glad to hear that people are at the least talking about it openly. Education on this subject may enlighten many, displace the myths and bring true forward. Within one's own life sometimes it can be difficult it figure who you are? I think we should rather raise the question: why is the official percentage of homosexuals only 5% within a Western Society? And I've come up with an answer: because homophobic religions like Christianity, Judaism and Islam have become world-dominant religions. These religions have exerted a 'cultural selection' upon 'natural selection' on the human gene pool...I would expect the figure to rise within the next few centuries in accordance with the demise of these religions.
On evolutionary terms it takes a couple of thousand years for a population to adapt to climate changes and therefore changes the percentage of a particular gene within a populations gene pool. If there is a heriditary component to homosexuality then it must have been selected out as advantageous for the human species. For 100 000s of years we were tribal people, nomads, gatherers and hunters. Homosxuality makes evolutionary sense as 'a variety' increasing a species chances for survival.

Wow how school has evolved. Homosexuality was never ever discussed then. Now i am glad to hear that people are at the least talking about it openly. Education on this subject may enlighten many, displace the myths and bring true forward. Within one's own life sometimes it can be difficult it figure who you are? And I've come up with an answer: because homophobic religions like Christianity, Judaism and Islam have become world-dominant religions. On evolutionary terms it takes a couple of thousand years for a population to adapt to climate changes and therefore changes the percentage of a particular gene within a populations gene pool. If there is a heriditary component to homosexuality then it must have been selected out as advantageous for the human species. For 100 000s of years we were tribal people, nomads, gatherers and hunters. Homosxuality makes evolutionary sense as 'a variety' increasing a species chances for survival.

As odd as this might sound - I think that Gaahl is a "role model" for gay men, in the sense that he has NEVER given in to any societal model of how gay ppl should or should not behave. In his interview with Faceculture he even says that he's "Not into the physical side of being homosexual" or something akin to that - ie IT GOES DEEPER than sex
(he has lived a secluded life tho, some controversies here and there (read about him @ wikipedia for starters), so don't make any rash judgement on him)

Christmas is about celebrating Jesus Christ Birthday. Hence, CHRISTmas. You can sugarcoat homosexuality and accept it all you want it doesnt mean its right. But you had a good argument with the santa claus thing n all though... lol

Santa is also a Christian Invention, just like god, yet many Christians don't believe in their own invention. They don't believe a fat old fat can fly around the world in one night, and delivery presents to every child in the world, yet they DO believe a 600 year old man can build a gigantic boat all by himself, and collect 2 of EVERY single species of animal in the world by himself. So, when did you choose to be straight? Or are the gay demons still nipping at your heels? Give me a break, you cannot choose sexual orientation, just like you can't choose skin color. If you can answer me honestly, that you never chose to be straight, then kudos. If you claim that you did choose, then you're holding yourself back from true happiness, from being yourself. I have two straight parents. It's scientific fact that sexual preference isn't a choice, and that it actually may be biologically built in. No one chooses to be gay or straight. There's even evidence of homosexuality in the animal world, so it's obviously natural.

It's a shame that people would be forced into either "choosing" to be themselves, or "choosing" to hide in a closet out of fear and shame. Why would you force that kind of life on anyone? If you were blonde, would it be fair to make you either choose to dye it or face persecution for your blondness?

@JohnnyBB82 Actually being gay is no "harder" than being straight or having brown eyes or straight hair or being from New Jersey (ok, that one might be hard:)) What's hard is dealing with ignorance. When ignorance is the norm - it really takes a lot of focus and strength to deal with it. But it's important to be patient with people who condemn others for any reason. They are the ones who need help the most. They're crying out for it in fact.

Bible states "god hates homosexuality"..he talks about punishment for it and so on, never does he state he hate homosexuals. Do you even see the difference? Study a Science Textbook. There is more then enough substantial information to prove that Homosexuality is not a choice like you think it is. And the Christian Idea of "free will" does not exist. You Christians ARE too stupid to reason with. The Hindu Religion is against eating beef. By your way of explanations, Eating beef is wrong because the Hindu Gods say so. You can't prove which religion is right or wrong, there's no conclusive evidence to show that any of these religious deities exist.

Really? Show some evidence that the Bible is Truthful, Find some evidence which shows that the Earth is Really Flat, and s at the center of the universe, and that the sun revolves around the earth. Find some evidence which shows that a man can live to be 600 years old, or walk on water, or part a sea. I'd really like to see that.

Yeah, because EVERYONE totally wakes up one day and decided to ONLY be attracted to members of the same gender, especially people who live in countries where Homosexuals are executed. Yeah, totally. Being gay is about who u are attracted to, not what u do. U could go thru your whole life never having kissed, dated, or had sex with someone of the same gender, but as long as you are solely attracted to members of the same sex, then you are gay. So you can CHOOSE to not act upon your homosexual tendencies, but you can't CHOOSE whither or not you have homosexual tendencies.
