one way i think of this is that the curse that was put on the girl merely made her blind. However, since she became blind she would never ever see her reflection again, so in a sense her reflection, which can be seen as herself, dies.

@DragonOfSummer uhm.. it's a bit late to answer but I'll just do it anyway :D No I don't think that it means something, because if you put it backwards there are many.. lettercombinations which don't work in Japanese. For example that last bit ' iz or nar'. You can't write that in Japanese (so it doesn't exist in the Japanese language).

okay, I'll just say what I understood of it. I also saw other translations of tha song.

so Alice gets cursed so that when she sees someone else, she dies. (or that when she sees someone else, they die.)

so Alice speaks to her reflexion in the water (Ecila) and sings her story. From 2:48 to 3:06, a boy appears and speaks to her, asking her to leave with him so he can save her. But Alice, aware of her curse, can't accept, so she tells him to leave.

Since he doesn't want to leave, she decides to join Ecila in the water, basically drowning herself. Though, he saves her and while she's drowning, maybe she loses her sight? Or maybe it was the guy who blinded her, removing the curse doing so.

so basically, in exchange of her sight, she's delivered from the loneliness? and it's like waking up from a scary dream?

I think it's the phonemes to the scat in the lyrics. If that's the case it should be something like:

My interpretation:

The story in the beginning is bunk. Alice is a lonely girl who likely makes up the story to make herself feel better about being alone. (In essence "It's not that nobody likes me, it's that I don't like anybody.")

She spends the day with her reflection, which she names Ecila. A boy comes and asks her to play, but she's sure he couldn't really care about her or would quickly forget her, so she tells him to go away.

She then falls forward into the water (into 'Ecila's' open arms) but the boy catches hold of her. The lighthouse, in the meantime, sink's underwater, so when she looks for the light she can't find it. Without the light, there's no reflection, and Ecila is gone. So the girl goes off with the boy.

Alice thinks she's happy being alone-- but Ecila (who is really Alice) represents the sadness that Alice harbors. Ecila asks Alice if she's really happy, then that boy comes while they're talking and tells her that he wants to take her away... She doesn't want him to, she wants to just stay with Ecila and be 'happy'. She runs into the water with Ecila, letting sadness consume her, sort of, but when she comes out she is blind...

This makes sense, too, cause she lives by herself either way, but I think it's right cause of how she wasn't afraid to die when she saw the guy. The one singing is Alice, the one in the water is Ecila.

From 2:48 to 3:06, Elica is the dialogue on the right, Alice is on the left. Then, the last words in the middle are... supposedly them both. Or that guy. If it was that guy, he's saying he want Ecila to leave him and Alice alone. Meaning he wants Alice to just be Alice, Ecila isn't real. Alice steps into into the water, she's about to drown, Ecila is the reflection in the water. Alice feels Ecila wants her in the water with her.

It didn't say she lost them, it said "/Instead/ of losing all of the distoted colors and image, I recieved a warm one in my hand", I think that means that, when she got her happy ending, instead of being free of all the messed up things that were bothering her, she had somebody to be with her. He's one of the messed up things to her, but he's kind. She might have not liked the world in general, but then she met him.

It's kinda like if you were sleeping and don't want anyone to wake you up.

Ah, I'm sorry to kind of ask you again, but I realized one thing that she implied that she had "lost it", not implying "instead" of losing it (about the blindness)

The japanese said :

Katachi mo subete = all the shapes,

there's no word implying 'instead of losing it' (in japanese: nakushita yori)
