  • you cant crochet wat else you cant do

  • why do you chain 3 at the beginning of the first round and not the others?

  • @chromobotiacourtney All three rounds are a chain 3

  • sorry but this is absolutely not helpful whatsoever i followed until the 13 double crochet wth how?

  • @Grrlwhocantshaddup

inside the hole that is the center of the circle, where you joined. do 13, each out of that space.

  • Excellent tutorial!!! I have been trying for ages to make a basic circle and finally a step by step slow motion guide that really taught me how to do it, I'm so happy!!! Thanks! :)

  • @solcitocm Thank you! I sent you another tutorial for a circle with more slow motion

  • so i made one of these circles. But what can i actually make using this?

  • @lameexcuse17 This tutorial is more for practice purposes in grasping the concept of a circle. I do have a lot of hat tutorials posted. Knowing how to make a circle is important in crocheting a hat.

  • @tjw1963 thanks! crocheting really does have a lot of Ah-Ha moments! thanks so much for all these videos I feel like such a pro for only a weeks time! :) I will eventually try at the sock monkey lol

  • Hi Teresa

My name is the same as yours. I just would like to know if you have any videos for clothing such as sweaters or jackets and cardigans.......... thanks

  • @002Teresa Sorry, no clothing.

  • im trying to make my first headband. well it is my first crochet project. and i cant figure out how to start the second row. can you help me?

  • Thanks Theresa, I appreciate your response and your awesome tutorials. .

  • Hi Teresa, can you tell me what software you use for the slow motion effect. I would love to use it for my sons football videos. Thanks!

  • @scared5hitless I use Sony Vegas Pro.

  • you are a wonderful artist. I have been following ur crochet videos for the last one week.......it really has been a great help for me to learn crochet. i did not know even how to handle this but now I can make circles and squares out of it. I m trying to learn more from ur instructions...thanks a lot

  • thank yoou so much you are so good at this i wouldnt go to any one else for help :)

  • I appreciate the comment, thank you.

  • thank you for showing me

  • Woop woop 42nd comment. How can i make a closed circle (with no hole in the middle)?

  • How funny. You are the first 42nd comment I have seen, lol.

What you can do is use the beginning tail on your circle, weave it through the beginning stitches and pull it shut. Knot and secure the tail well.

You can also start your circle with the magic circle which give you a nice, tight closure.

  • wow, i really want to learn how, it seems relaxing even though i was lost at first lol....good job, i'm adding this to my favorites to come back after i buy a kit. any suggestions as to where i can buy one?

  • Herrschners or Annies Attic.

  • I am attempting to do a round doilie. I have done and ripped it out so many times, I think thread getting to wear out! I can't seem to read a pattern so am just making a circle with different stitches, but I couldn't understand how to increase the circle to get to lay flat. Now I got it. Thanks so very much!

  • You are welcome. :)

  • so am i right? if you want to increase your circle all you have to do is the exact same thing over and over again, and then to create depth you do single crochet?

  • I just posted a video tutorial on a hat with a brim that will show one way to increase. You can increase to much or not enough. It depends on what you are doing. Increasing is a way of shaping or making something lay flat.

  • thank you. im working on a hat now--thanks to your tutorials!! i finally got it after giving up the first time. Now im like in love with crocheting!

  • You are welcome. :)

  • Thank you for the demo. fantastic.! Am now very happy i can make a circle.

  • You are welcome. :)

  • help i dont get this

  • What don't you get?

  • hi waited for ur reply..since the cirlce that i did watchn this videostarted bending in the edges.., nd so i started making a continuous circle (as in video-Crochet Cloche Hat Part 1) im tryn to make a CIRCLE crochet to place a flower vase on it...but the cirlce edges get bent completely and dosnt remain flat..i follwd the video(Crochet Cloche Hat Part 1) and kept doin 2HDC in each space..plz help me..waitn for ur reply

  • You will need to continue to add increase stitches to the consecutive rounds for it to lay flat. The first part of crochet cloche is the example on adding increase stitches evenly around. You may have to do more stitches each round, modifying to get it to lay flat.

  • Oh so sorry..,dint imagine u had to reply sooo many each day...

Well i regarding the increase, since m doin a continuous cirlce nowin (reffered video-Crochet Cloche Hat Part 1)i did add 1/2 2DC into each and its still terribly bent...shud i continue doin it and is it that once it bigger it wil stand flat??? i hv, 1st row-11halfDC,2nd row-24and 3rd row again 2half DC into each stitch,4th row 2half DC into each stitch on the third row..

  • You will need to do more increase stitches to get it to lay flat which may be an increase every other stitch or every couple stitches on consecutive rounds. You will need to be careful not to get it to full or you will get ruffles.

  • hi, i have started making a Circle crochet..,i hav completed 7 rows...and now i see that the edges are getting all bent, it isn't setting flat...was wondering if it was coz of too many DC's...i hav done exactly as u hav instructed on the video..i dont knw wat to do next..till the 6th Row it was flat but 7th onwards its bent...waitn for ur reply...Thanks!!!

  • I apologize, I get hundreds of comments and e-mail a day, so I may not get to all comments right away. This video is a practice piece for 3 rounds. If you do not add increases to the consecutive rounds, your piece will not lay flat.

  • thanx tjw1963 this video helped me alot.

  • hi teresa,

i am new to crochet.. got really interested with ur tutorials. i did 5 rows to the circle using the same dc.. but i notice that as the circle increases, the gap in chain 3 space in the circle is also widening when compared to other stiches..and is showing off. what do i do? also can i do any other variation stiches to increase the row and to make a good round mat?

  • ok.. i understand.. i think i went wrong.. instead of joining the circle in the beginning, i went ahead with the beginning of the chain 3 loop.. can u pls reply me with the 2nd part of my question?

  • I have some hat tutorials on increasing. You can always continue with the increases to continue making it flat.

  • thankyou.. i did 8 rows.. but i found its luking loopy coz the increase is more as the rounds get more.. how do i decrease the stiches to get the round shape? pls reply...

  • I sent you a link for decreasing.

  • thankyou..

  • i love this video. i was so confused watching other video but after this one i understand the increase method that ppl have been talking about on other video. I love how u actually say it out loud the one double crochet and next stitch two double crochet in the same stitch(whole is what i understand by now i know what they mean by two double crochet in the same stitch). it really helps me out. Also, the paste of ur teaching is great. I can see all the steps. Great on the close up.

  • Thank you very much, I appreciate your comment.

  • All the videos are right handed. Where are the left-handed crocheters?

  • My main channel page has left hand crochet tutorials.

  • All of sudden there is no sound to this video - what happened?

  • I take out the background noise because it sound funny in slow motion. I have a lot of slow motion in all of my video's

  • tyyyyy

  • Thanks again. Your instructions are really easy to follow.

  • You are welcome. :)

  • This was very easy to follow Teresa...

  • Thank you. :)

  • Thank you SO much! I will try my darndest to master this!

  • You are welcome. I know you can do it, just have patience with crocheting, yourself and keep practicing. I am here to answer your questions when you need help. It will eventually make sense. Hats are a good project for a beginner to practice on.

  • Oh man everything. I just cant get it, I wanted to makes some hats for Christmas presents but i dont think i am going to be able to.

  • I have several beanie cap tutorials that go through the whole cap. You can also find written instructions on my crochet blog. I will send you the video instructions for the caps. In addition to the beanies, I have two beret caps, and a cloche type of a cap. This tutorial is just showing a circle.

  • You are a very confusing teacher.

  • What are you finding so confusing?

  • i am having a problem. every time i follow ur circle step by step i always seem end up with my edges curling like a bowl and i dont know what i am doing wrong cuz i follow u step by step more then once to make sure i am doing it right and they still curl. do urs curl too and u just straighten them or not?

  • They should be laying flat. It sounds like you may not have enough increases. I do have several beanie cap video tutorials that go beyond 3 rows. They are also helpful in learning about increasing with rounds.

  • Thanks for your very explanatory video..its really helpful for any beginner to understand...

    Pls keep posting such videos....

  • You are welcome. I appreciate your comments and feedback.

  • I enjoyed the help with making a crochet circle. The best help I have found. I look forward to more help. Thanks for taking the time to share.

  • You are welcome. :)

  • hi i have done the 3 rows for the circle how do i make it into a blanket.how and where do i put the increase stitches as my circle curls up

  • I don't have a pattern created past three rows. You will need to find a pattern to follow or experiment with each row. You could try adding extra stitch every three stitches or so with a row of no increases inbetween each increase row. It will be trial and error.

  • i want to learn how to make the square i cant get it right can someone help me porfavorrr!!!?????

  • I have sent you a private message with the granny square video link attached.

  • gr8 video u r a gr8 teacher for begginners im mastering the circle as i want to make a circle blanket.can you use any size hook.my circle isnt kinda flat it turns up.

  • Maybe you are missing some increase stitches.

  • You are awesome!

  • Thank you. :)

  • Thank you! You are my crochet teacher! I tried learning by book but couldn't follow along! I find that I needed to see someone doing this and your videos are the best. I just finished my first blanket and my son loves it. I am starting a new blanket to emmulate a hockey rink for my other son. How would one make a circle and turn it into a square for a granny square?

  • I have an idea for a tutorial in the works. You use different size stitches around the circle to shape it in to a square.

  • Cool! I'll keep my eye out for it. I am interested because a hockey rink has five circles in it. I have now a 22 centimetre white circle with a blue edge around it. I just need to figure out how to connect it to the blanket. For now, I'll probably just stitch it on to the finished project once I get the white blanket done. Thanks! (From Canada)

  • Thank you for these wonderful videos. I have just discovered YouTube. In this video when you say 12 double crochets does this count the first chain 3 ? or is it 13 total

  • If you click on the more link to the right of the video, you will find the written instructions and a picture of what it should look like posted on my crochet blog. This circle has a total of 14 double crochet in all, counting the first Chain 3 as a double crochet.

  • The writting instructions for this project are on my crochet blog. Please click on my main channel page to see my crochet playlist with all the crochet video links. Thank you for watching. --Teresa

  • that will be great thank you so much ,i am looking forward to seeing it. thank you agian .i have been looking at all of your videos, they are so very well done .

  • very well done, thank you , hope that it is ok to post more then one time on the same thing, but this is what i would like to know . if you can show how to join them together? thank you so much.

  • You can post as many time as you like. I will do a demonstration on how to join circles in the next couple of weeks.

  • how can you tell the difference between dudle crochet and single crochet

  • I have videos demonstrating double crochet and single crochet. If you watch them you will learn the difference.

  • Hi.. I am tryng to make that circle and I cant really figure out where to join after I am done with the double croche.. I cant really tell and I think I end up joining it the wrong stich! thank you!

  • You would join it in the 3rd chain of your beginning chain 3. It might help you to add some sort of marker to the beginning of your round to show you where you started. You can loop in a different color thread or use a paperclip. That way you will know where to join.

  • Thank you so much,it helps me alot.. do I join in the same 3rd stick everytime I end around? thank you I am sorry asking but I really love to learn and you are the best teacher in this site that takes the time to really make it easy thank You

  • Yes, you join in the 3rd chain each round. Thank you for watching.

  • Have you ever heard of Amigurumi? They're cute crochet animals :) ANyhow this made me think of them

  • I have only heard the word because someone else asked me about it but I don't know what it is. I will have to do some research.

  • They're really super cute. I'm working on a teddy bear one right now. They're just like stuffed animals type things made out of crochet.
