Muybridge was *not* the first American to make the insanity defense. That would be Daniel Sickles, who killed the son of the man who wrote The Star-Spangled Banner. He became a prominent Union general and arguably disobeyed orders at Gettysburg owing to a vendetta with his commander.
21:55 There's a hallucinogenic fungus in old books? Wow, when they told me that books "take you to new worlds", I thought they were being metaphorical!
Buttercup is doing a not-so-speedy speedpace. That is, if you leave the giraffe/camels answer and think of gaited horses instead. Like the Icelandic horse.
But bloody hell, I still love this show with an endless supply of...eh...love.
I just had to learn the paternoster (or lord's prayer or whatever it means in english^^) by heart even though I didn't know alle the latin words yet. I thought it was quite unnecessary... but now it's on quite interesting! =D 11:46 - 11:51
I'm proud to be able to attest that Stephen did say it perfectly(although only the first lines).
I also love the prove that Stephen is cool. Brilliant!
We actually talked about Muybridge in my history of animation class. I told my teacher the bit about him killing his love rival and then pleading insanity and he didn't believe me. XD CURSE YOU QI.
@BigCheese2403 he has the right to be considered sexy as every other man. But in fairness I meant the obvious choices for sexy men. And they were all over the palce as well.
An interesting story about Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. When Australopithecus Afarensis was discovered in Ethiopia, the people who found her bones were celebrating all night and listening to the Beatles song Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, which was very popular at the time, and decided to name their find Lucy.
That's enough of me "Frying" up the message board, thanks for the postings!
There is no evidence of cannabis causing cancer, although it contains more carcinogenic substances than tobacco. Research didn't find correlation on cannabis causing cancer, but it has been shown that it causes cellular damage and respiratory dysfunction. (You can read more in "Cannabis and Tobacco Smoke are not Equally Carciongenic", Harm Reduction Journal)
@egonelbre Besides which, even if it were true, nobody's going to smoke three marijuana cigarettes a day, every day. (Well, some people will, but they have more pressing lifestyle issues than risking getting cancer.)
@scientifico Is that a false dichotomy or am I expected to talk to drunken oafs when not watching this program? Because if it's the latter I am seriously neglecting my drunken oaf talking to responsibilities.
To think I was watching all the episodes over again when right on time an XL version of David Tennant's episode was up. The very first episode that I watched!
afraid Alan's wrong there, studies show hashish is not carcinogenic

'Lucy in the sky with diamonds' doesn't spell LSD it spells Litswd, which is probably a village in Wales.

@Nebirias
I should have mentioned in my previous comment that it was a joke by Smith & Jones (if I remember correctly) from a nice sketch about the Beatles.
fritspas 10 months ago
@fritspas Ah. Doesn't make the joke any less enjoyable, though.
