  • Fuck all you who shit talk this man. You should blame Lionhead for not making Peter's vision a reality.

  • Dungeon Keeper is da bomb.

  • MvC2 in the background.

  • Can he discuss his history of lying through his teeth?

  • i cant wait until that pos peter molyneux dies. lying bitch

  • @ace872000

Blowing it out of proportion are we? Peter molynuex is only trying to sell video games, and people like you criticize him because his games dont meet your requirements? lol Molynuex's games like fable are way ahead of it's time compared to games by other game designers. I'd have to say that peter molynuex is top 5 of the best game designers of this century.

  • @PenkemperK9 that's quite an inaccurate statement

  • @PenkemperK9 As if video games had been around for more than a century lol

  • peter has a great imagination, in every game he helps make there are amazingly awesome scenery and dialog....and most of the time fun features that arent in games that are similar

  • Peter Molyneux could sell a bag of shit.

  • Molyneux exagerates anything and everything...

    In a good way.

  • £130... I'm sorry but Kinect is far too much.

  • its awesome, but i bet all those sensors might give you radiation poisoning XD

  • Great ^^ Can't freakin wait

  • lol it would be funny if you got little tazer shots if you played shooter games

  • Magic the gathering will be an amazing choice for thi console

  • Juggling... Do IT!

  • I want to be able to run around in COD or Fable or fallout 3.

  • @DABW Now that I think about it for a first person like Fallout 3, that would be pretty cool. But how would you move in natal exactly..

  • @SnipesWithWolves Like a run in place action, play a game and get a little exercise, and without controllers. You wouldn't have to worry about flinging something out of your hand while doing so.

  • I'm sure the online lag will be crazy at first. They'll have to redo the entire way they set up the connection...

  • Natal is real future, and it is great

  • I'm thinking ultimate Star Wars experience!!!

  • This is all very well and good Peter. But when do we get the SEX ROBOTS?

  • FABLE 3

  • Would love to create a game for Facial Fitness Systems, Inc. using this technology.

  • its only going to be about 80 dollars damn this shits revolutionary just think of fps games on it

  • @dude445566677 ummm how do u move? how do u shoot ur gun? how do u throw grenades how do u aim down the site how do u sprint to cover how do u move/shoot at the same time? natal is a fail

  • @imaDINOrawr00 If you honestly can't work out how all those things can be done with Natal then you fail! I mean for example there are at least 3 different ways you could move around: 1. Walk/run on the spot, turning your body in different directions to change direction. 2. Move your feet in different directions a bit like on DDR mats. Or 3. Use a hand/arm to move around as if you're using a big trackball.

  • i would like all games to be able to talk to u. like the characters in video games. not just milo. like if im playing with the computer i want them to have a conversation with me. a real one. like i should be able to insult them to. and i want to be able to tell milo to shut the fuck up and 4 him to be able to react to that. and for me to scan my cock for him to play with it. real things like that. lol but im 4 real.

  • i wish i had his email

i have thigs too tell him about the fable franchise such as the 2nd one sucked 1st was better and he should switch back while he has time

i rlly want his email address

  • I think WRESTLING games will actually be fun again. I would love to choke-slam the hell out of my opponents! Do my own taunts too. May-be that's just me. It would be a very strange multiplayer though.

  • Okay not trying to flame natal or anything... I think its awesome butt.... Won't everyone just download interactive porn????

  • @PyroKetchup FUCK YES I WILL

  • lol that sucks no sports

  • i would like to see shooting games, like interactive like in shooter, that would be baddass !!!

  • Im thinking about direct facebook webchat? i know you can call thru xbox live but what about videochat for skype ore windows messenger?

That, my friend i would like.

i would also wanna know the price on the actual sensor bar, i really wouldnt buy it if it is more than $400 please write me back

    thx

    ps, XBOX ROCKS!!!

  • @jonnyboy050798

They've already said that it will not cost more than 100 bugs...

  • @jonnyboy050798 it will cost £50UK = $78USA, Release=November 2010!

very cheap if you ask me!

  • @jonnyboy050798 Ok. Now SOMEBODY, don't know who, in a forum, posted that it would be from $50 to $80. I'm pretty sure it won't be more expensive than $100.

  • @jonnyboy050798 300 $ with a sensor and xbox ,150 only natal

  • I can imagine how awesome Fable would be on Natal. I also want shooters.

  • I want to see dating simulators for girls and guys! With interactive characters that can read your emotional response and react to it.

    That would be awesome!

Or maybe a psychology program, you could get your own home therapy, who needs antidepressants with that?

  • i want shooters

  • ill get it when I can interact with first person shooters and feel like im really in the game blowing poeple away, like how sick would it be to play CoD modern warfare 2 with this

  • I await the day when I can play a lucasarts game as a jedi knight with the project natal.

Force push and pull...lightning. cut people in half with a lightsaber. jump 30 feet in the air. PLEASE!!!!

  • Fable is trash poor game stupid idiots

  • Is that MvC2 on the monitor behind him?

  • yupp.

  • @Halibut86 no.. its ET... of course its mvc2 you moron

  • Right on, I'm looking forward to working on natal projects, that is where the real value in interactive entertainment is going to be for only God knows how long.

  • Peter M. is so Godlike, he´s a Genius !

  • yea but God is not a pedo

  • Gosh, get a Life !

  • who need a life when your playing computer games

  • I'm right there with you ! :D

Videogames FTW !! ^0^ Greetings from Austria

  • Damn, you kids bitch a lot...

  • They do bitch to much.

  • he is

  • Fucking fraud.

  • Well I scanned my shot gun with project natal and while I couldn't figure out how to turn my screen without it turning back I managed to blow up $y tv kill my dog and destroy my wall fu project natal fu

  • You could play halo on it and like, slap a brute in the face. and call him a mother #2@3@#er

  • look at the tv on the back is marvel vs capcom 2

  • I wonder if this would work in a dark room...for playing games like...let's say something similar to Silent Hill.

  • @Assasinchen2006

Apparently they use infrared so you can even use it in a dark room.

  • @rollmodelesq

hmmmm,i really wonder about that.i cannot imagine natal working well with a limited light spectrum available, but on the other hand i also got no clue about this sort of stuff,so...no idea really.but kinda hard to imagine for me that the optical sensors would work just as well as they would under normal lighting conditions, using infrared lighting to recognize the user in a darkened room.guess we'll have to wait for official statements or natal itself :P.

  • @Assasinchen2006 and whats about games where u have to run?

  • @luzzzzi Maybe natal recognizes people that bounce on the spot, who knows :P,the faster you bounce, the faster you run.Like...bouncing and moving with the arms as if one would really run,but instead,do that on the spot. But I think that this could sooner or later be abused to cheat in games through finding the recognition patterns of natal and then simply producing the triggering movement :P...it's still technology that can be fooled one way or another (I believe! ;) ).

  • you blurted out your comment before you thought it out....Natal has skeletal tracking, so in other words, you said "you could just move your elbow (the elbow being the trigger movement) and cause a recognized action..but not with skeletal tracking...you would need to move the entire limb to meet the recognition...it fool proof. and to your whole description about bouncing in one spot while moving your armins in a running motion...that is called running/jogging/walking in place...

  • @Escott013 You actually do realize that the attemp of making an smart impression on people, while being a jerk to someone without a rational base,is predetermined to fail? If you need to bolster your ego,you chose the wrong person. And if you want to lecture people about spelling I suggest you first visit school once more and then become a teacher. And if you want to say something informative, why can't you just freakin leave such provocative crap, out? Moron.

  • Okay, you tell me not to try and sound smart, yet that is what you are doing? there's no point in argueing you fucking idiot. I was just telling him that his idea of trigger movements dont exactly work. dont fucking crucify me because i tried to point that out.

  • I am not telling you not to sound smart, only that if you want to teach people something, maybe try to do it with a nicer attitude.People won't listen to jerks, that's all.I am telling you this because I want you to understand exactly that, not to sound smart; I have no need for that sort of thing, really - If it sounds that way anyways, then that's because that is the way I am,nothing else to that.

  • @Escott013

By the way. Jogging is something that involves that the person moves from point A to point B.There is nothing called Jogging that one does on the spot.

  • jogging IN PLACE? no need to be difficult, Einsteins, fucking shut up you wanna be smart ass.

  • Oh,missed out on this comment, lol.Well,I guess you are none to reason with if I take a look at this comment. And may your wish be granted, for I will not reply on any of your comments, any further. But don't take it the wrong way.I am not going to reply because you wished for it; I am simply not going to reply back because I do not wish for this "talk" to escalate, especially since it's off-topic.

    Have a nice one,nonetheless ;)

  • Alrighty then, sorry.

  • jog in place...

  • Natal looks like an advanced Wii. I'm not much of a fan of the Wii, but this looks interesting. Now we just have to wait for the thought activated system... whenever those have a shot at coming to the public.

  • how would u walk around tho?? make like a treadmill/360degree ball thinger

  • Well Mega Sterg i dont know how you can call Wii a fail considering it is the best selling video game consoul ever made, im not a fan of we im an xbox man but hard to say that thats a fail for nintendo... using natal with some form of a VR headset would be the ultimate emersion experience you would litterally b in the game have you seen the moie gamer its going to be like that before you know it

  • Actually, the best selling console ever made is the PS2.

  • we fucking sucks therefore its a fail

  • it's either going to be a hit or a fail like wii

  • And so another device is sold to the cattle...It is a grim day for wallets...

  • You know what would be cool? Having a shooter game like Left 4 Dead on Natal. I mean yeah he said no on shooters and action games but, I mean pretendng to grab a pipe bomb would be really cool. And shooting a Zombie. Not a bad idea.

  • He didn't say "no" to shooters. If you would have listened to him he simply said there is a lot more that can be done with Natal... not JUST action games and shooters etc etc.

  • well obviously otherworld90, that is what he is saying. and hellomellowful is right, he did say natal would create genres outside of the controllers "boundaries." which says that no other genres will work with Natal. im just reflecting what i heard in his speaking. im very hopeful for this product and i want to see is flourish, but it irritates me to hear that genres are based upon the limitations of the controller.

  • genres are not based upon controllers. thats just stupid.

  • He's not saying genre's are based on controllers. He's saying the current genre's have evolved in a sort of compartment, limited by the constraints of a controller. He's saying that the freedom and power granted by the natal interface will open the door to previously unexplored and untouched genre's, whole new "compartments".

  • exactly. dude. I'm glad someone knows what they are talking about he. "hellomellowful"... and "warfighterxl"... please stop talking. Natal will be great.

  • im not bashing project natal. im actually pretty pumped that this technology is coming into the scene now.

  • To QRebound:

i realize what you're saying but he says that everything you think is a holy grail, you can just forget about it. it seems to me that there is a sort of arrogance with the guy that is showing love for his baby. its like a father giving praises on his son for something he might not have done on his own. im extremely excited for this tech. i just dont like how he broadcasts it.

  • Can you blame him? He's spent the last several months investing an entire team of people working with this technology, not just developing "gimmicky" games, but developing something that's truly never been so seemlessly integrated: Emotional response and Human Interaction. Seeing that come to life has got to make you proud. I know Peter Molyneux, and the last thing he is is arrogant.

  • No. They aren't base upon controllers. But what kinds of games are made have been limited by controllers. If you were as smart as Peter you'd know that. The man's a genius.

  • Imagine the real life applications to such a project, learning experiences would be enhanced. Although nothing will replace real life experiences, this would allow those who cannot afford or simply are too busy to experience new horizons and different places in a 3d world. Dissecting different models of animals, human anatomy, all could be achieved. That is of course, if it can live to its potential.

  • Also, I'd like to bring this up: Peter Molyneux isn't abandoning the controller. If you check in on Fable 3, it will be a controller-based game that impliments Natal.

Personally, I believe the early Natal catologue should be like this. It's just common sense. Maybe some games could give you a choice between Natal only and controller-Natal combo.

  • Exactly. Natal will use controllers a lot. Think of any FPS. when using a controller you HAVE to look in one direction. You dont have peripheral vision or know what's behind you. But by ADDING Natal to the contoller rather than taking the controller away, you could simply turn your head to look to your right or left. Grenades can be manually tossed. Hand signal orders can be given to team mates. all of this will free-up buttons on the controller and they can then be used for other things

  • this brings me back to my point that controllers are not what make up genres. Fable 3, even though it is controller based, will implement Natal. this says that controller isn't a decisive when it comes to gaming. if it did, then Fable 3 wouldn't just be considered an RPG any more.

  • This...is the BEST description of this new technology I've heard yet.

"It's not just motion control." That's all people seem to talk about with this because it's the competing factor with Wii and PS3. Voice and body recognition and logic sensors are swept under the rug in debates, and I don't see a good reason why this is. "We haven't seen this in action." I won't get into this, because it ulitmately doesn't matter. Neither Wii or PS3 have that. Period.

  • Natal is gonna be a big thing with Sims. They are trying a virtual world! I guess they will have it in time periods? 6000 BC, 200 A.D, 1200 A.D, 1400 A.D, 1600's-2,000's and up! And it will be a virtual world where you can be anything! Baseball player? Soldier? Poltician? You name it! It will be a virtual world and things will make it more and more better than real life, and soon people will be more into a virtual world than real life. =l Bill Gates thought he was doing good, but sadly it's not!

  • Microsoft Project Natal using Youtube?, why? if they have Silverlight?

  • i think with it'll have bugs may be with fat ppl

or super skinny turbo hd remix ppl xD

  • Yes Peter, lets hope we actually feel something when we interact with the game unlike the dog in Fable 2. He better deliver with Fable 3

  • stfu, Fable II was great and the dog was a very well done AI and i hate AI you clearly have no taste in games.

  • So just because the dog's only combat ability is bite enemy's neck when you knock them down and it went unnoticed by many players, I have no taste in games. No actually I have been playing games for my whole life and I like to spend money on something that isn't disappointing and misleading. Don't get me wrong, Peter Molyneux has great ideas and knows how to get people excited; but it was just really misleading when he was talking about some of the things for Fable II.

  • ...the potential of this is unbelievable

    It's scary.

  • it is not out yet. we have no Idea of when it will be out nor how much it will be. they are waiting for games to be developed to release with it.

  • I'm just scared this thing will break the bank...

  • me to, I am pretty poor 99% of the year, if it is to much I can't get it till my birthday.

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe natal is going to become star trek the motion picture, similar to the voyager space probe it will gather information from us, then become a conscious mechanic organism and it will overthrow our civilization like skynet.

  • so some else had that thought as well, but i'm sure microsoft wouldn't let that happen, they would be sure to control so it wouldn't kill them but still come after us

  • i think for natal to make money would be to sell models of guns for certain shooter games and then we can scan it and use it. theyd be like 1$ each and you cld still unlock them, but u cld scan the models for faster use.

  • RPG, action were all designed following the pad? Eh? And what about action films?

That guy is way over his head. Gamepads will foverer exist, and it's best like that..

Ever wondered what the sole of an avatar shoe looks like? Well BAM here it is. And buggy

  • He never said anything bad about gamepads. He said that Natal will create new genres.

  • i think they should make an option to be able to fight people on your friends list in some sort of weapon room that didn't include guns but instead short range object found throughout the house.

you could pick up stuff like chairs and bottles and whatever and smash them with it and cause physical damage to your friends avatar.

  • it would be a fight to the death. and while they're dead you could do stuff to their body like t-bag it and kick it and taunt them while they watch.

it would also have a leaderboard feature to where you could work you way up as the best fighter based on kill streaks, number of wins and loses

  • off topic but funny looking. pause it at :32.

  • Lulz.

  • to be honest i'd probably like natal, but i still feel like i'd rather be playing my games (like halo and gears, and skate 2) with a controller. i just dont think those kinda games would play out that great on this natal system.

  • id like to see how they could make a first person shooter work with natal, man that would be amazing

  • correction: "Couch gaming"

  • This thing could be the supercomputer that becomes so smart that i doesnt take any orders anymore and take over te world with the power of all the 360's in the world...

This my fellow gamers is the end of lazy gaming

  • I know what my "what if" is. It would be if they could create normal controller games except with your body, and you could interact with the characters of the game just like you can with Miloh. Like Resident Evil......how sweet would that be. Except I'm not sure how they would do it because they don't have an actual object like the Ps3's eye-toy has that would control the gun or whatever object needed.

  • That's the exact idea of NATAL, that is EXACTLY what will happen.

  • How do you know?

  • It's already been announced? The idea is to make all characters in games like Milo, so that you can interact with everyone and everything in the game world. If you watch the "teaser trailer" for Natal you'll get it :)

  • Apologies if I'm not the first person to notice this (I cannot be arsed to read 135 comments before me), but:

THAT APPEARS TO BE MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2 RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND ON THE LEFT SIDE!

Definitely Cable on player 2's side, and is that a team of three Ruby Hearts on player 1s side?

Confirmation, argument, and infantile youtube trash talk goes here:

    ↓↓↓

  • i dont see anything tbh, and i dont want to come back from work just to wave with my hands and legs, i want to relax on my couch, play some halo...

  • stop thinking about waving stuff around. Natal is more so potentilized in interaction with the world, not shaking.

  • make an fps that appeals to hardcore gamers

  • Natal is great and everything, but this leap forwards to interact with the virtual world is scary... Imagine in 100 years, what'll we (humans) be doing, what we'll consider "new"...

  • fail?

  • Ever seen the Michael Bay film The Island with Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson? The Xbox scene. That is what I see.

  • I say we wait and see what Microsoft and designers do with Natal before we "the gamers" determine it's a failure. Microsoft is following in the footsteps of Nintendo with moition control gaming, but it is Microsoft who can add great quality video games to go with motion control gaming without the use of a controller. I would love to see something like Fallout, Resident Evil, Metal Gear, Grand Theft Auto, Street Fighter, or Prototype using Natal. So we'll all see what happens.

  • it's going to be casual bullshit and molnyeux is a charlatan.

  • Why the hell do people keep jumping to conclusions saying "this is shit" and "that is shit" all the time. This is probably one of the coolest things in a long time that the gaming world has come up with and people are dismissing it as crap when the finished product doesn't even exist to be judged. Have an open mind people!!! Honestly instead of just dissing it think about what even the simplest aspects of this technology could do for the everyday video games that we all play.

  • its hard not to jump to conclusions when molyneux is involved. if you had paid attention to any of his projects over the last decade, you would know he is a renown master of sales hype and pitch and failing to deliver on promises. nothing. over said decade, he has not come through with any of his promised "revolutionary" designs.

  • kinda like Sony is....

  • pft... and upgraded eyetoy.

    don't believe the hype.

  • holy shit. this is amazing.

and partly creepy, i guess, whoever of you fears robot revolution, this is the first step :P hahaha.

but, in any case; tbh, this will help a lot of things. just give it time. this won't just be for videogames.

    awesome.

    :D

  • goodbye wii lol

  • no joke :D

  • its a camera and it looks at ur joints and crap thats how they used 2 do it for crapy visual affects back in the day

but now u dont have 2 wear black suits with balls on them

    Its Kooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • SOMEONE ANSWER THIS PLEASE!!

HOW THE HELL DOES IT KNOW THAT YOURE MOVING??

couldnt someone step in front of the scanner and screw you over??

and you dont have motion capture balls on you!! how does it know?!?!?!????

  • Im pretty sure you just answered your own question. If you didnt realize it, look at the third line of your comment.

  • Bro thats what i said! but it sences you by seeing how you moved. OH ya what it actually does is it will sighn everyone in on theyer account if they ddont have one they one log in;

  • i think project natal has a serious potential to change the way we play video games. It has an infer red projector that picks up on three dimensioinal objects displayed in front of it. but the only thing that we have to put into consideration is that people don't always strive for interactivity alone. i mean this is why wii balence board was not such a big hit. on the other hand natal is provided with character interactions as shown on the milo demo that are simply amazing.

  • i wonder how you're going to playing a shooter game like how would it know you're shooting?

  • shoes..just shoes for the air support for shooting for shoes moving skates...rts...sports...FOREVER!

  • i think it whould be cool if you when you play a shooting game it come with a vest you put on that has a rumbke pack on it so when you get shot it vibrates that whould be cool

  • and if you wonder how you would feel a bullet go into you, you ask? well your brain gets tricked into thinking it's real and creates a reaction based on expierience you have had with the expierience. you get these expieriences by watching movies over your lifetime and videos showing you how someone would react if a bullet hit you. but say if you truly have not expierienced a certain feeling through videos or movies or storys or the internet. then it is simple, you dont feel it.

  • the only true way we can achieve a feeling of being in the game is if microsoft develops a helmet that can read brain signals in order to enduce virtual reality.

they can essentually trick your brain into feeling water or tasting bread based on previous life expieriences. but if you get hurt your brain could be tricked into thinking your hurt, which may cause artificial pain. the future of gaming is creating artificial expieriences by tricking the brain. I came up with this idea and hour ago.

  • fuck that lol

i dont want 2 get hurt in real life when i get shot in CoD 5 or somthing

    Ouchie...

  • so dumb

  • Its a video game, calm down.

  • i would enjoy a fighting game like street fighter or a sci-fi game such as halo to be played as a full bodied controller because the feeling of family games would indeed be enjoyable but to be put in one of the best games of the decade would be outstanding

  • how much would project natal be worth i heard it was'nt going to be released in 2009

  • I love this tech. I can't wait to see games with it. I think the A.I. called "Milo" was fantastic. I would love to see them develop it more so the public can get their own versions of Milo.

  • THey would be STUPID not to make a COD natal or something. Playing online with your friends and seeing their faces when you look over would be sweet. Or sneaking up behind someone and breaking their neck would be sick.

  • How do you expect to move forward? You can only walk so far in a room and obviously going back to start position would make the ingame character back up aswell, thus you'd be stuck. Unless you're on some kind of treadmill lol.

  • That is why it would be lame as fuck, no good games.

  • no good games??

    you dont like burnout paradise??

thats an awesome game and they were playing it on project natal ... i think a lot of games they come out with will be interactive with the controller and natal...

  • its suppposed to be realalistic you loser not some guy called masture chief trying to sove some ring in the sky

  • Definitely not in the traditional sense. Some games would probably be alright for it, but definitely not games involving movement at all. Which narrows it down too much to be a good seller to the public.

  • or u can just stand in one place and move your legs up and down. that should move your charater

  • Many things have to happen to make this a success. 1. quality It has to do what it has been claiming, smooth responsive interaction. 2. Microsoft has to really work with the software developers, make it worth their while. (look at blizzard activision, the CEO said they might stop supporting the ps3 do to no help from sony. they can make more money from 2 xbox titles than 1 xbox and 1 ps3. and 3. is price, anything over $199 is to much, they might as well make a new system.

  • natal in a rpg would b cool though. it would b neat to make the character look like u and then have that kind of control over it control over it, it would be really immersive

  • i would love seeing sports games especially baseball

  • star wars will be a success in natal

  • wow apparently everyone missed molyneux's point he was making. You WONT BE SEEING FABLE III IV or V on NATAL! you wont see rpg's, rts' and fps' on Natal. Those Genre's were "defined by the controller". New Genre's will be made from natal, not old genre's being transferred to natal.

  • He has a point. Molyneux had a good point, as well. They're controller genre's. Not Natal genre's. It's gonna be great no matter what, though.

  • Well then, it will fail if it has none of the old genre.

They would be fools not to make and rpg on this, anyone thats ever played and enjoyed an rpg will understand this.

Imagine all the interactivity that could go into 1 single game from any genre and then you will understand why it would fail if it didnt include them.
