I was in country in Naval Intelligence in 1965/66 and discovered we were not allowed to win the war. We could have won the war at any time but the directives from the White House were to perpetuate the war and every commander in that theater knew it. LBJ and his cronies were personally making millions off the US troops they were having killed. Honoring his memory in any way disgusts me.

Lyndon b Johnson has risen high in American historian's rankings...Johnson is considered one of the top 10 best US presidents. He is even considered on the top 5...He created the conditions for the longes sustained econmic growth in American history..Balanced the budget and every year lowered the federel deficit! Surplus funds...More American were employed, with environmntal advances. He passed major legislative blls for every American...Medical, Medicare. Civil Rights, voting acts.

Johnson deserves credit for fighting against poverty no doubt, but the fact of the matter is, he got terribly caught up in the "evil communism" sentiment which ended up being a disaster. The truth is, North Vietnam had a minority of communists in their ruling group, most of their top politicians were socialists. Socialism can be a positive ally of the poor in any nation in the world; Obama will start the promotion of that belief here in the U.S. and we will be better for it.

LBJ was God awful. Not only did he lose the Vietnam war by not following Gen'l Le May's advice to bomb Hanoi like they did Tokyo during WWII, he also further betrayed American servicemen by covering up the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty. If there is a just G-d this rotten bastard is burning in hell for all eternity.
