  • Hank Jr may have wrote the song but George Jones is the Blues man.

  • I say it often, Hard livin' makes for good Country Music! Sad it has to be that way, but without real life experiences, you can't write great songs that people relate to and you sure is hell can't sing them with your heart, soul, and conviction.....At 40 I don't consider myself old however, Next to Jamey Johnson (who gets no airplay) I just don't know who's gonna fill their shoes! Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts??? You gotta be shittin' me!

  • Two of the best singers together, thank you.

  • George Jones is playing at our town rink in march shaha

  • Hmmm! Now thats real country singing, this is the best version of this song everrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

  • two of the best singers to have ever graced the stage. No one and I mean no one compares to these two singers, sure there are great singers out there but these two are the very best there is and ever will be. Treasure them while we have them, because we all know their time will end as well. God Bless

  • I got chill bumps..when he said got sued over no shows cuffed on dirt roads...wow

  • wow..once again AWESOME job George

  • Brilliant , Brilliant , Makes the Hair on the back of my Neck Stand Up

  • You SOB's can keep you "new country", nothing beats ol' George and a case of beer!

  • @paintballgod33 AMEN!!!!!!!!!

  • @paintballgod33 AMEN!!!!!!

  • one of the best songs of all time

  • George is my hero

  • I bet he would have had Tammy Wynette in there if she was still around though..... But Dolly did do good job singing!!!

  • just fab

  • absolutly beutiful, brings a tear to my eye, no one can compare to the King Of County Music George Jones, ole possums been thru alot and hes still truckin alone, and Dolly Parton realy brings the emotion to this wonderfull song!!!!

  • What a song! Gets you right in the gut!

  • them two singing together was good. this was a good song for them both shows the true country music the classics and every thing all rolled in to one.

  • he got the right female singing partner for this song, how cool are they together!!

  • simply two of the greatest country singers ...

  • Great combo

  • this is beautiful.....

  • Dolly Parton can sing like no other

  • i think this is great. I've always figured George more for the honky tonk rockin style country, great to hear him do a ballad like this.

  • I like it

  • Quel beau duo, quelle émotion !!!! Bravo

  • Was George jones really arrested

  • @LOVEGODEVER4 yes he was, a few times to be exact

  • @RicFlairFan4 , more than a few times....lol...George is the best!

  • @LOVEGODEVER4 yeah.. he was arrested a time or two. he used to be known as no-show jones for gettin to drunk to do his shows.

  • george jones will always be the best in my book no matter what the song is!!!!

  • Hank's version will always be the best but I'll listen to George sing it anytime.

  • I think Hank Jr's version will always be the best... for you can tell it was about his life... Alan Jackson paid a great tribute just because of the fact that he changed the word I to he in the song... Not taking anything away from the possum, cause no doubt, if there is any other person who deserves to sing the powerful words of this song.... its George... Love it either way....

  • good ole george

  • Magnifique !!!!!!!!!

  • i'd like to see allison krauss do this song with someone :D

  • I hope Dolly's rack will be in the Country Music hall of Fame someday. This song was written about George..but I got to give props to Alan Jackson's version. However, long live the possuM!!!

  • i like hank williams jr George Jones he put more soul too

  • Awesome. That's my George and Dolly! Nancy that song is for you!

  • Love this song....and these 2 singin it but my fav is Alan Jackson with Hank Jr. comin out!!!! Beautiful!!!!

  • how can anyone not like this???

  • The King and Queen of country!!

  • I didn't want this song to end.

  • Another great version of this song. I personally think that if one was to take a look at George and Hank's lives, they would find exact parallels. Both of these guys went from being boozed up, cracked out maniacs, to well-respected, and influential legends. This song paints a perfect picture of what they may have went through. Let's all be glad they survived, and are still around today. P.S., Alan Jackson also did a killer version of this song some years back. Kudos to George, Alan, and Hank.

  • Let me make this crystal clear No Show did it justice but NOBODY does his hand written self lived songs better than Bocephus period!!

  • Ole George takes the words from your heart and sings them back to you,

  • It is very hard to outdo Hank, but given his amazing talent George Jones did.

  • gotta love ol no show jones....but seriously there aint a whole lot that i like about this version besides dolly's big ol cannons..YARRRRRRRRRRRR!!! lol

  • Absolute heart and truth. Some things only get better with time.

  • what a beautiful song, such emotion his life......

  • just great!!!

  • I got a reminder of how great Dolly is as a singer :D

I already knew that "The Possum" is unbeatable but Dolly made a bigger impression on me with this performance :)

  • GREAT SONG!

  • people who claim this shit called country of 2011 is country have no idea as to what the country music is, THIS is real country at its best

  • @rosskarvonen No new singer has sprung since Brad Paisley these people Dolly N George are the best. If they rank male and female country singers by chart position George and Dolly would be number 1 male and female by top 40 single. dolly number female w/ #1's and # overall with top ten full length albums.

  • No new singer has sprung up since Brad Paisley these people today don't know shit about singing thanks to computer they sound like they can sing. Dolly N George are the best. If they rank male and female country singers by chart position George and Dolly would be number 1 male and female by top 40 single. dolly number female w/ #1's and # overall with top ten full length albums.

  • hahaha yeh right hank jr sings it better possum is good but hank jr is the fuckin best and if u dont like it u can kiss my country ass

  • This is history seeing these 2 icons together. Total true classic for them both!!

  • I have a really old clip of them from the "Porter Wagoner Show" that aired in the mid 80's. It originally was done in the very late 60's or early 70's. I don't believe they worked together again 'til he did his Bradly Barn Sessions album in the 90's. Then they appeared on an Grand Ole Opry Special together.

  • a good one!

  • This is my mom and dad song!! :) every time i hear it i think of them!!!

  • It was released a couple of years ago.

  • @637karim This video would have been released in 2005/06 as the album Hits I Missed And One I Didn't came out in 2005.

  • afterall wasn't he once known as no-show jones

  • ya know, i know its just a cover, but this song seems to fit george alot better than any other.

  • Listen ! Very nice. Dolly honey nice job, good work.

    Thanks

  • I love this song neve get tired it. mean never sorry mispelled.

  • I love this song neve get tired it.

  • You nailed it George!

    The song I mean!

  • glenn, here's to you my babe!

  • thats the it should b done

  • Old Georges voice has a sound to it like it is ringing it's way back from the gallows of hell. I grew up listening to Dolly and I remember George when he was wilder than both the Hanks put together. You catch a glimpse of Georges true greatness when he stops and sings " I do get tired of this travelling band" on his own. Right there you hear why George is truly one of the greatest voices we have ever had; thank you George for all the great songs. Truly you are one of the greatest blues men ever.

  • awesome song...no 2 better ppl to sing this song....singing in perfect harmony.....awesome awesome awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • There'll never be another George Jones. He's what country music is all about. He not only sang it, but he lived it!!

  • @RonnieL1969 So true!!

  • Out of all the versions out there. I think this one is the best. some songs just need the duet.

  • Beautiful song.

  • I love this song.

  • Hard to outdo Hank but the possum did

  • @jamespeacock1984 When god handed out voices Possum was first in line....

  • Love it ty.
