Alan Jackson paid a great tribute just because of the fact that he changed the word I to he in the song... Another great version of this song. I personally think that if one was to take a look at George and Hank's lives, they would find exact parallels. Both of these guys went from being boozed up, cracked out maniacs, to well-respected, and influential legends. This song paints a perfect picture of what they may have went through. Let's all be glad they survived, and are still around today. P.S., Alan Jackson also did a killer version of this song some years back. Kudos to George, Alan, and Hank.

Old Georges voice has a sound to it like it is ringing it's way back from the gallows of hell. I grew up listening to Dolly and I remember George when he was wilder than both the Hanks put together. You catch a glimpse of Georges true greatness when he stops and sings " I do get tired of this travelling band" on his own. Right there you hear why George is truly one of the greatest voices we have ever had; thank you George for all the great songs. Truly you are one of the greatest blues men ever.
