Finally found a good tutorial on this braid! I understood the concept but I could never get around the positioning of the fingers. Thank you so much, now I can do this perfectly!! :)

i watched you carefully and mirrored your movements exactly, but it was a bit difficult. by time the video ended i was halfway to the base of my neck, and then it took me another 10 minutes to get all the way down my hair. i feel like with practice this braid will become a lot easier, it just takes a lot of thought the first time to keep from messing up! luckily, it turned out beautifully, so thank you so much!

Wow!!! Thank you so much. This video is great! I've always wanted to be able to this on myself, but never tried. I could never even do this on someone else, let alone french and on myself. It took me a couple tries to make my fingers do what they were told to do, but it worked out in the end. My arms are pretty tired now. Haha! I really love your videos and all the hair ideas you have. You are the cutest thing ever. That accent kills me. :)

i love your videos and can do the fishtail, dutch, and french braiding practically in my sleep, this is the first video where i'm having serious difficulty. perhaps it's because your hair is dark. i just was wondering...

you begin like regular french braid,

and add another strand into it.

that i got,

what exactly happens after this i'm confused about.

@suhnshyn You start like a french braid, then you take another strand from the right side. You don't add it to the outer strand as you normally would, but you guide it underneath it so that it's in the middle. Then you meet another strand there, you put it over that. Now the new strand should be the 2nd one from the left. You take a new strand from the left, go underneath the first strand you come across and over the one that comes next (which is the one from the previous step)

@suhnshyn After that you take another strand from the right, and this time you do add it to the first trand you come across (outer one) so that it forms one new strand. You guide that one under the one next to it, and over the one next to that. Then you do the same thing on the left, and repeat these steps until the braid is finished.

I hope this has kind of cleared it up for you, it sounds really chaotic but it might just make it clearer if you watch the video following this explanation.

They're terms used on the Long Hair Community. We've kinda developed our own lingo when it comes to hair, lol.

Gosh you make it seem so easy! I love your explanation and I tried it a couple of times but I fail =P I'm gonna try it a lot tough, because this is my all time favorite braid! I can do it on other people, actually I can braid other people's hair up to 9 strands, but on me it's very dificult! Good job! Suits you very well too!
