The 3V 5.4L platform wouldn't be my personal choice for adding power, only because I wouldn't try pushing too much power into a SOHC motor. But I must ask, how much power are you making? How do you like the responsiveness of the motor? I'm certain you swapped all the internals to handle the power.

The originale motor was indeed a 5.4 3V from a truck. The intake is a custom peice made for this combo not a 4.6. As far as why because it hadn't been done at the time. The 5.4 can be built with 2V, 3V and 4V heads. Hope that helps.

I'm sorry but a 460 is extremely outdated and would be very poor for street use. I can knock down 24-25 mpg on the highway and so far city is 15-17 mpg. If I want massive power throw some race gas in and crank up the boost. It's setup to make around 1000 rwhp in that configuration.

I'll probably never know since all my local tracks have closed, but it was built for the Texas Mile. I lost my job earlier this year so I haven't been able to finish it by adding the cage, etc... Hopefully next year will be better and I can get back to work.
Actually I wouldn't have done it, but the GT badge just didn't look good. I decided to add the Cobra's but no GT500 anywhere ( except for the airbag which I could not help).
Nothing major, but since I built the turbo kit at the same time there is alot of things moved or modified. Most people don't notice because I really tried to keep things close to where they belong. I've actually hid the wiring harness under the intake now so it looks alot better.

The trans will bolt up but you will need a different clutch, I believe 26 spline input shaft. It's been awhile since I researched it. The 5.4 has a 8 bolt crank so I used the GT500 flywheel and clutch.

I had the twin setup. I ended up having an oiling issue which started all this. I made my own kit which mounted twin 57's beside the trans with my 4.6. They ended up injesting water one morning and destroyed my 4.6. There was so much rain coming down I couldn't see the large puddles. The turbo filter were shielded and everything, just to much water. Anyway that led me to the project you see now.
Is this the car in July MM&FF??? I want to build one just like this...maybe go 4 valve heads..not too sure yet tho..The 3 valve heads flow so well...LOVE your ride man! 5 stars

Yep thats my car. i've been a subscriber since 94 so it was pretty cool to make the mag. I went with 3V heads because it was what I had and at the time hadn't been done. I'm looking to swap to 4V heads and make some other changes this fall.
I did it myself. I actually had a STS kit on this car years ago. Look on their customer rides page and there should be a black 2005 GT with gray TSW wheels. Thats this car a couple years ago.
I used to agree with that statement, but everybody's swapping parts on different models nowadays anyway. I made sure it doesn't say GT500, excpet for the steering wheel. At least it's got the power to back it up ;)
It was actually alot of work. I'm working on cleaning it up a little now. It's one of those deals , get it together, see how it looks and then change it accordingly.

I found the fox to be the lightest, but the S197 chassis is quite a bit stiffer. So you just have to decide which is more important.

Yep thats my car. i've been a subscriber since 94 so it was pretty cool to make the mag. I went with 3V heads because it was what I had and at the time hadn't been done. I'm looking to swap to 4V heads and make some other changes this fall.

I did it myself. I actually had a STS kit on this car years ago. Look on their customer rides page and there should be a black 2005 GT with gray TSW wheels. Thats this car a couple years ago.

I used to agree with that statement, but everybody's swapping parts on different models nowadays anyway. I made sure it doesn't say GT500, excpet for the steering wheel. At least it's got the power to back it up ;)

Niether does a twin turbo, but this baby is probably packing power, and deserves to use the cobra emblem if he wants.

It was actually alot of work. I'm working on cleaning it up a little now. It's one of those deals , get it together, see how it looks and then change it accordingly.

No it was a GT and had the 4.6 3V.

Hmm for some reason i thought the GTs had the GT symbol in the middle of the steering wheel, im gonna have to go out to the garage and check now lol
