  • Vidusso was truly a wizard. Many thanks for keeping his art alive!

And regarding his relationship with his pupil Pollini, well, it is has not been always idyllic... Once while learning Chopin etude op.10/4, Pollini kept playing the C-sharps at bar 34 with the same finger. Vidusso asked him to change finger on the repeated C-sharp. Pollini refused, so Vidusso said: "Either you change fingering or there is the door". Pollini stubbornly refused again and he was sent out... :-)

  • Interesting additions to the score, no doubt something his most famous student wouldn't have done.

  • Lovely interpretation.TY gullivior for posting

  • Cool!!!

  • Effortless virtuosity! The jumps in the beginning are the best I have heard... he took a lot of liberties, the playing reminds me of his fellow-countryman Fiorentino.

  • @pianopera

    dear pianopera,

Vidusso was a true virtuoso ... he had a phenomenal ability to read music even the most difficult immediately and effortlessly... and had also a mania for fingered each piece note for note! ... as Fiorentino, had an outstanding technical fluency...Fiorentino, however, was a pianist more complete, with a wider color palette...

  • Beautiful rendition!
