my father wears something similar when he goes fishing. not really a chic look. something tells me women won't really go for this stupid hip wader trend designers are trying to make fly this season.
That's a presumptuous and stupid thing to say. I cannot speak for the other person here, but my thighs would certainly fit in those boots, thank you. And what are you - five? Grow up.
i wish chalayan would focus more on his daring an innovative pieces. this looks more like he's aiming for the market of gwyneth clones who like to wear tiny dresses and think they look "cerebral" because of the label
aha... I can't stand Gwyneth. Tod's made a huge mistake hiring that slattern for their ad campaign; Anja Rubik was perfect for their campaigns. The Tod's customer is more likely to wish to look like the quiet, elegant Anja rather than annoying loudmouth Gwyneth (Sienna Miller was another poor choice). I agree, I like the innovative, but to keep his brand afloat at the moment he was likely stuck producing a more tame collection. I quite like the tailoring, though.
I just adore the first exit. Ali wears it so well, too. The normality of this collection is paradoxically weird; it's a collection of chic, simple urbane grey clothes, but as a collection by Chalaynan, that normality is out of place for him. I love it though - there's always a place for elegant, simple clothing. However, this sub-trend of fisherman's hip waders cum thigh boots just won't fly. It didn't look good at Prada and doesn't look good here. Designers foist some weird things onto women.
The first exit, Ali's 2nd exit at 5:10 , and Lindsay's exit at 2:10 are certainly some of the best pieces of the show. Sex (and sophistication) on legs!
I have to disagree with you about the boots. I think the thigh boots here and at Prada gave the women some edge, so I think it can pack out very well. Although it doesn't match with the garment on 2:27. On the other hand, I do agree with you on the simplicity of the collection. It's definately chique for sure.
My daughter told me that people call them "fu...k me boots". Hahaha

. . Cant wait for the next ugly show. . :-)

This isn't ugly, and the show which followed this one was even better. Loved the air of Schiaparelli and Dali surrealism in the spring 2010.

i dont see what the big deal people have about the thigh boots, if you like them then thats fine your not being forced to wear them
and as for it wouldnt be a trend?, anything can be a trend if its circulated enough
