@Goal2Tend No... It's for shooting things that are ahead during an assault. Do you think they would give you a weapon that can't be used in water while you ARE in water? Think before commenting.
Basic was fun to do, I wish I did reg force BMQ unfortunately I did reserve force and didn't get to learn all these things. still it was a fun time and the memories from it are awesome.
@Aon1337 BMQ is always changing as operational needs change and as lessons are learned from deployments. It could very well be that the reason you didn't do this has more to do about when you did your BMQ than whether it was reg force or reserve. If you did it around the same time this was recorded you might have done this too.
- successfully complete the pre-enrollment aptitude test.
Note: Citizens of another country with landed immigrant (Permanent Resident) status may be considered when the CF has need of their skill, if the position cannot be filled by a Canadian and national interest would not be prejudiced.
@CanadianArmyNews Thanks for your comment. As soon when the summer holidays i am going to get my Canadian passport, After 2 to 3 year i can join the Canadian armed force. I am very exided about that.
As a lifeguard who has gone in the pool with shoes, pants, etc. I would say that if you are having difficulty with the standard flutter (legs moving up and down) kick, give the "whip" kick a try. You can see that most of the frontrunners of section 1 - from about 6:30 to 7:00 were using the whip kick.
Could 2 friends join the military together and do basic training at the same time? Or do you just have to hand in your applications and hope for the best?
@chubby987 talk to your recruiter, and mention that, in my experience it is possible. But a recruiter could say for sure, but there were friends with a situation like that when I did my BMQ,
@CanadianArmyNews hey there ive been thinking about joing the cf as a infantry ,,,,but i saw in the basic training video that you have to write a 800 word essay, and im not that great at spelling and grammer ...do u think id fail the course if i wrote that essay and had spelling errors and grammer errors????
@showlifemang111 honestly don't worry about them, for the most part it's unlikely you'll fail at writing. On my BMQ 5 people didn't 'pass' and it was because they didn't have enough words. I can't say for sure but I think the main purpose especially during Basic is just that you do it, and you make some effort rather than you being a master of writing. That said, just only use words you know, and have a buddy proofread and you'll be fine.
Are you not allowed to sling your rifle on your back? Or is the point of the exercise to cross the water obstacle with your weapon pointing ahead.

@nichtausDeutschlan Pretty sure its to keep the weapon dry.

How deep of water do you have to go into?
blackriver32 2 years ago
It is usually a normal size pool with both a shallow end and a deep end.

@showlifemang111 Infantry is not nearly as demanding academicly as say an airforce pilot, all you need is a grade 10 education so you should be fine

@CanadianArmyNews what if you can't go in the deep end, are you given any kind of aid to help you, like a life jacket or a tube?
imnoobish 9 months ago
@imnoobish In this particular exercise, the recruits are using flotation devices.
