One of the all time great singers.Have got several CDs of this wonderful voice. One of my late dad's top two favourites,the other being Bing Crosby. I was brought up listening to this music and love it as much as he did.Today's so called singers will be forgotten in a few years,the all time greats will always be there.
I went to a concert given by Paul Robeson at Southampton Guildhall Theatre in about 1935. I think one of his songs was "River Stay 'Way". It was a great experience to hear such a wonderful singer in person.

This was one of my Daddy's favorite song. Instead of "bed and fire", he would sing "bread and fire". Which came first, Robeson or Sinatra's version?
