Old Tokai with Brunetti Mercury Box Overdrive Pedal Part 1

The trilogy of the Tokai Strat are my favourite performances by Greg that I have watched on Utube.If you enjoyed this then watch the remaining two of the series.My only disappointment is that we didn't get to hear this guitar being played clean (especially chords) .What we do get is a guitar with great over-driven tones and Greg really enjoying going for it ;a winning combination I think !

Sounds really nice! Are you pushin the drive to max on the pedal? Is it possible to get some nice dirty tones also with a little more attack?

the gain is on 11 or so. You can reduce the gain of course to get some more dynamics

this is just ordinary Bm-pentatonic

I don't understand how you make it sound so dynamic. When I use the Penatonic minor it sounds like half-ass blues. You make it sound jazzy.

the only jazzy sound came from the chromatic run in the middle - but I don't know what scale it is...) and at the end I use a few major pentatonic notes

These Tokai's are sweet aren't they? I have a Candy Apple Red from 1982...a Strat body, it looks like the pcik-ups are stock, it has a humbucker in the tailpiece postition..unfortunately I have no idea what model it is but love it.

HEY GREG THIS BABY LOOKS LIKE REAL 60'S FENDER STRAT.Even the green guard...sounds great with the box.

We can all see why Tokai made such success seling Fender clones...some were beter than Fender original guitars....
