The Greatest Vocalist and the Greatest Guitarist of OUR Time...Together...AS IT SHOULD BE!!! The Greatest Song writing duo of ALL TIME also. Don't believe that....listen to the "Revealing Science of God' or "Close To The Edge"...the two GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@skunkape77 Steve Howe=Elrond Jon Anderson=Frodo Chris Squire=Boromir (for betraying the band so many times, or at least Jon) Alan White=Gimli Rick Wakeman= Gandalf and/or Aragorn (for Aragorn leaves his people but is still a loyal king....but Gandalf does leave his group several times, but comes back always, but is always true to Frodo, and the magical that Wakeman pumps out of his keys, shooting sparks left and right, which has the magic of the universe at his fingertips)
@skunkape77 how funny to picture all of this XDXDXDXD just imagine all these characters playing their instruments singing yesongs.....you could say Steve looks like Gandalf now....but I think that Gandalf should rock the keys.....or maybe Howe took over the role of Gandalf...and now Wakeman is more like Bilbo Baggins...only slightly taller ;) AND or....TREEBEARD!!!!!!!! XDXDDXDXDXD <3 <3 <3 <3
Always said...if you broke down all the classic YES pieces you would have many ... multiple... 4 minutes Pop Songs...this is piece is just proof of that fact...just a great song for the ages...too bad it never got the exposure it should have.
These guys had and still have the ability to combine tones in a way that captivates the mind and spirit. This song so simple it seems , poetic words of love combined with a perfect melody. Topographic Oceans is an album of inspiration and pure energy from the source that created us. Two of my all time cultural heroes, Jon Anderson and Steve Howe, I thank god he created them.
I think people have to learn to listen to music, explecially when it's played acoustic, rather than behave as they were in a crowdy McDonald's. This wonderful and unique (at least on youtube) performance is really spoiled by the audience noise, isn't that a shame?
Of the four takes from Tales, this excerpt should have been extracted on the album as a separate piece. Standing by itself, this tune is very nice. As an adjunct to uttering the names of the past giants, 'Leaves' remained buried until this duet by Jon and Steve separately live.
Truly beautiful. Jon looks happy and complete. I wish for him all of the joy he has given me for the last 33 years. Jon, your compositions have inspired, enlightened, and to this day give me hope that there are wonders yet to come. Namaste.
Should have told you Steve thank you for your contribution to Yes over the years. I've enjoyed your guitar work very much - an understatement, but still you get my meaning. Bless you!

Why does Steve Howe remind me of Elrond from lord of the rings?
