As for fucking Islam, I'd say let them believe whatever they want to believe as long as they don't hurt or restrict the lives of anyone else; fuck whoever takes it seriously :)
@QuadError :: to say 'let them believe whatever they want to...' seems vacuous 'cause it's not as though we have any other choice;
we cannot force them to abandon their beliefs - we cannot deprive them of their "right" to delude themselves with faith-based fantasies.
but what we can do is criticize, attack, blaspheme, insult & devalue ('cause god knows religion is much over-valued) their belief(s), dogmas, prophets - anything that makes up the sickness - for, ultimately, the benefit of society.
I know a few people who are Christians and who function normally in socieity. So should atheists criticize, attack, blaspheme, insult and devalue anyone who is a christian? wow...
it doesn't matter in what you believe, just act nice to people and you will get the same thing.
you seem like one of those people who call people names and cyberbully other people. it's sad, really.
@z4i4 And oddly enough it doesn't take much for some people to feel as if you are attacking, criticizing, blaspheming, insulting, or devaluing their ideas or religion.
Just asking simple, honest, seemingly innocent questions gets them worked up eventually. No matter how nicely and open minded you approach them. In about 10 minutes I usually end up being told I am going to burn in hell. Just for asking questions about why they believe things, or what doesn't make sense to me.
@TruthfulChristian I agree with z4i4 regarding the severe scrutiny of religion, not typically the individual (unless they're truly obnoxious or demonstrably hypocritical, for instance).
I think it's worth remembering this is not just scrutinizing Christianity; it's all religions, without discrimination. I'd suggest a reason Christianity and Islam get more prime-time rebuttals is due to their prevalence in nations with freedoms of religion and speech, but I'm just speculating :)
@ricardas83 I see where you're coming from (I prefer her older stuff, to be honest, but she can still surprise me) but free speech is worth fighting for. Even if Brock Lawley and Geerup want to crap all over it.
@QuadError I've always liked what she's had to say. At least from what i've seen. Always is a dangerous word to use hehehe.
Maybe i'm biased because she is attractive. I know she gets that all the time, and I have seen first hand how frustrating that can really be to a person or yourself. But I still find a great common ground in what she has to say, and how she presents it.
I'm just rambling completely now. Blah forget all of this.
Rock on Criss, rock on! Free speech must be defended.
@Koss42 "Always" can be dangerous ground unless qualified appropriately. Your ass, I believe, is covered ;)
I can see why people like CreationistsWON get riled by people like Criss and Peach who are comfortable wearing whatever they like, but not me. If they have it, and they feel good about it, more power to 'em!
I don't have it, though. Cartoon QuadError is much more dashing ;)
@QuadError Oddly enough, I've only recently discovered Peach (Not because of the stupid cracker even either, before then). She has some interesting things to say. I see your point entirely.
One thing we can all agree on is to not refute the state of my ass being covered. I could, by all means, be wearing the emperor's clothing. And no one wants to see the result.
Therefore, we shall always just assume my ass is covered. Logic rules.
@ricardas83 Yes, I've encountered that issue myself a few times. The only thing I could do to work around it is redownload the file in question and try again. Good luck :)
Oh, come now. We should be sensitive to those poor, stupid muslims; they might develope a complex about themselves if we point out that what they're doing with that sword is not peaceful. Hmm, maybe they mean Piecefull? Or maybe they mean they like to hack people to pieces in peace? They do seem to be able to find bizaare interpretations, judging by their claim to authorship of the big bang.
@RichardRoy2 Some interpretations are peaceful indeed; a very good friend of mine fully acknowledges my status as kuffar, but has yet to behead me or stone any mutual friends. The problem is, to me at least, that any culture promoting blind subservience to doctrine is a breeding ground for loonies, and Islam is very much in vogue lately. Can't think why ;)
@QuadError: "Why" is a good question. I couldn't say authoratatively what the answer is, but I suspect fear plays a large part. You're very correct to point out Islam only stands out now, but it has no monopoly, historically. I'd never thought of the idea of it being the culture doing the promoting. There may be some fascinating insight there. I'll have to think about that. I've heard it said "The media is the message." Perhaps the culture is the media. Thanks.
@RichardRoy2 A pleasure, but I certainly hadn't intended such deep and insightful leanings!
While I'd agree fear is a strong motivator indeed, I think it also follows that very few other religious doctrines at this point in history support the ideal of killing oneself and innocent others as a noble and holy act.
Mind you, there's also the Jews & Muslims in Israel, or Catholic pedophilia. In the UK in the 80's and 90's there was the IRA.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
@QuadError I'm always running into little things that trigger connections with previously heard stuff. Don't know the relevance as of yet, but another event may tie something together. If it turns out to be a bad idea, I wont blame you. ;)
ZOMG how pathetic- some people cannot take even the smallest criticism. Have they not seen her videos on OTHER religions? This is so tame in comparison.
@idea1013 True, but it seems like the one thing Islam just can't handle is criticism. Well, criticism and science. OK, criticism, science and women's rights. No; criticism, science, women's rights, historical accuracy, pork, judaism, apostasy...

@TruthfulChristian :: "So should atheists criticize, attack, blaspheme, insult and devalue anyone who is a christian?"
YES.
however, attacking 'belief(s), dogmas, prophets,' etc., is not tantamount to directly and personally attacking or devaluing the individual.
religions are not people, and it seems you, like most christians, fail to make the distinction between 'idea' & 'identity.'
'Good people do good things, and bad people do bad things, but religion causes good people do do bad things'
