  • No matter what she sings about she fills it with emotion and beaty. What other female singer can do that?

  • Not many pop songs about stalkers. Interesting to see KB tackle sucha serious issue in such a fun way - only she could do that and make it work and with a very dark ending too

  • @StoatOnToast Possession Sarah McLachlan. Seen her I couple of times and definitely in my top 5 female vocalists but not Kate who is always #1 to me.

  • god her voice sends me cold.

  • @TheHorrocksSmile Your generation may just turn out all right. If you like the 70s and 80s, may I suggest The Clash (though I imagine I don't need to)?

  • She's off her rocker. And I love her for it.

  • she is a great artist

  • One of Kate's best songs ;I love the warm orchestration courtesy of David Katz and Andrew Powell.

  • The popular female artistes of to-day just don't have the intelligence and imagination of somebody like Kate Bush......... every song different but brilliantly musical.

  • A PARTE I 2 ..MALATI DI MENTE CON RISPETTO MAX X I FOLLI...QUESTA ASSIEME A WOW RIMENA LA MASSIMA INTERPRETAZIONE....ARTISTICO MUSICALE MAI VISTA....(CHI INDOVINA CHI ERA DIETRO DI LEI IN QUESTO VIDEO????E' FACILE...

  • @MatthewWith Madonna has done alot of stealing and copying, more than one would initially imagine

  • Paloma faith must have been inspired by Kate - who isn't though I find her a very positive figure

  • wow. stunnd

  • Masterpiece!

  • Kate defined the use of sexuality

  • ¿De qué año es esto? What year is this?

  • @Dhyan69 1978. Kate was 20 then. Had been writing music since about 15 years of age.

  • Amazing, you can hear a lot of artists who are inspired by her, Joanna Newsom, Tori Amos, Goldfrapp, Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls).

  • the male dancer in this is a very lucky man!!!

  • @polopain.But really the best!

  • how amazing She is!!! always, always only her ,her move and such an angel voice with me more 20 years ,traveling xxx

  • call me a perv, but that position at 2:20 looks very good :P

  • @katiekoolmiss You're a perv. But it's all good. ;)

  • Comparing Kate Bush to almost anyone is futile because she is so utterly original.

Part of the problem in comparing her any female singer is that, even though she *is* a singer, she is chiefly a performance artist who uses her voice, lyrics, music, face and body to tell these other-worldly, often creepy stories.

Hearing her recordings is one thing, but to really get her, you have to see her perform. I don't think you can fully appreciate her just from her records.

  • LOL Huge argument going on here. I don't know why anyone bothers. This chick's immense talent speaks for itself and her influence is seen everywhere. What a gem!

  • oh look, A REAL ARTIST!

  • I wish I was this dancer

  • @eboker7.Do you think this dancer loved to dance with Kate?

  • @Katefanforever I do not know but I think he's the most fortunate guy in history

  • @eboker7.Yes,he is.I'm jealous of this man!

  • @Katefanforever Good thing this dancer wasn't a 14 year old or Kate would have needed to send that dress to the laundry!

  • she rocks, real groovey chick.

  • she rocks, real groovey chick

  • Absolute FAV track and video from kate along with "Wow"..

"Hammer Horror" is just pure GENIUS!

  • just wonderfull

  • A touch of beauty, a touch of divinity , and forever in my heart

  • THIS IS MUSIC

  • the "facts" make no difference to me....this song is hard to like.

....infinite budget in the studio : odd weirdness which only freddie murcury would follow

and to top it off a dance video with a dance that well...the kind of thing people use to parody 'modern dance"

  • @issofunky Dance, in modern terms, is flailing in rhythm to music. Dance, as shown here, is a device of expression used to tell a story, which appears to be much of what Kate is about, in her music.

You don't have to like it, but it's far more nuanced and intricate than anything done by stage choreographers nowadays.

  • @awarewolf2 nuance and intricacy is not what makes something "good"

John Cage's material is full of nuance...and it is the most boring pile of pomp ever written.

  • @issofunky Fair - but you've yet to explain what makes something good, or makes something bad. You may not like her message or medium, but I'm struggling with your insistence that since it's esoteric, it's inferior.

  • This is a thespian dumdum slug to your frontal lobe!

  • @deanriam *** ART is NOT a numbers game old chap ***

  • @deanriam i wish kate bush was as powerful as Madonna or britney, but i probably respect her just the same, Just to mention i have seen britney, beyonce and gaga, and I would trade in all of those shows to see kate just once, trust me. Kate is superior by definition.

  • @seth264 Definitely! Music nowadays sucks! Well, most of it does... I'm 16 and I just love Kate Bush! And most of the other music I listen to is 70's and 80's.

  • It's just amazing! She's just amazing! In every possible way!

  • The singing high priestess...and I mean this as a great compliment!

  • @deanriam cont.... I've never mentioned anyone else in my commenets on Kate Bush videos. But if you're asking, I genuinely don't have any Britney Spears or Lady gaga on my computer. It doesn't make me feel superior as you childishly believe, it's just I find most of their tunes don't last more than a few listens without becoming boring.

  • @deanriam. Haha, hope your liitle rant has made you feel better. Has it ever occured to you that maybe they're opinions are genuine and they actually do think a lot of mainstream music these days is crap? Your own posts are brimming with superiority and snobbishness, I believe it's a psychological condition called 'Projection', look it up.

I for one couldn't care less how many other people like Kate Bush, all I know is I love most of her music. cont....

  • @deanriam She's also got a 'cult' following in the U.S. I doubt if you will ever grow up and really appreciate music.

  • I am 12, and I see nothing wrong with Kate. I love all her music, and have all her albums. I think she's 101% better both in personality and voice than the downright abysmal 'artists' in the charts now and I would choose her over any singer. To say I am growing up in the 2000s, I find music from the 70s/80s much better in many ways than the chart singers. 'Music' these days is nothing to proud of.

  • @TheHorrocksSmile try 60s lol because im 18

  • @TheHorrocksSmile I agree with you 100%

  • @TheHorrocksSmile I absolutely agree!!

  • @TheHorrocksSmile Always encouraged by perception. I thing I will share is that is the responsibility of every generation to get past the over produced, mass marketed crap they try and shove down your throats and find the real musicians of your era. Trust me they are out there and need your support.

I am probably at least your parents age and maybe older, first time I saw Kate was SNL and Don Kirschner's rock concert when I was about 16 so that puts in a 77-78 time frame. She is still great.

  • @TheHorrocksSmile -- are you sure you are 12?

  • does the title refer to hammer horror films that were so popular back in the 60"s and 70"s? those were the greatest! Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing revolutionized Dracula and Frankenstein. Thanks Kate for the cool reference. the U.K. is fertile ground for genius.

  • @deanriam you fucking Troll, I persoanlly dont give a shit if she is just has a cult following in England only. That makes her much cooler in my eyes. If you are the kind of idiotic example of someone from elsewhere Im not surprised she is only popular here. you are an absolute idiot. you are actually kind of funny. It would be better if Kate bush only sang for me, but if I have to share her with the rest of this little country, so be it :)

  • @deanriam sad cunt

  • @deanriam You see what you have done is make a complete and rather embarrassing fool of yourself.

You know nothing about music you sad and lonely little cunt.

  • In the May issue of Uncut magazine Kate Bush was on the front cover with the caption ": Why Hounds of love still haunts the 21st century " inside reaveled just how her influence is still felt and interesting enough ,there are quotes from R&B , Rapp artists whoo revere her after all these years as well as punk legend :John Lydon . however away from that it was interesting to note that some young people in the USA think that"" This womens work is by Maxwell ! so MR DEANRIAM has a point .lol

  • Ok Deanrian fights his corner based on sales , popularity , etc and he is right about a lot of things there , My reference to the classics was to highlight that in a dumbed down society .well crafed music is not really revered or understood by the masses .by most accounts .western culture is being built on people ,who have no talent and fame ,only for fames sake . Kate is a recluse and really couldn't give a shit about fame ,she's a mother and doing normal things like a mother does ,end off .

  • um....i'm in the detroit area and i (as well as many other people i know) are, indeed, obsessed with kate bush. comparing her to mozart or beethoven is a bit extreme, but she does actually craft music of great quality and depth without the intention (or need) to sell multi-million copies. for those who appreciate her talent, she will always be a genius who went beyond the boundaries of "pop" music to create something truly unique.

  • If Kate as been forgotten t then why is she mentioned all the time as a bench mark for orher female singers like Bat for Lahes , florence and the machine etc.? i dont hear Madonna mentioned cos her music has little value outside of the commercial world Mozart or Beethoven are not exactly commercial yet their music is timeless but only have a small audience . The true is: quality lasts ..

  • Brilliant.

  • @deanriam Being remembered has nothing to do with popularity and sales. Van Gogh was unheard of in his lifetime, Mozart died skint and some of the brightest stars find their celebrity tied to a time and place. Ken Dodd was a huge singer in the 60s. KB has a unique vision that has not been swayed by fashion. Madge has reinvented herself to blend in with passing fads. In 100 years time people will still listen to KB. Madge will be unable to employ the latest hot producer from beyond the grave.

  • @deanriam I was expecting emotional engagement of some sort - Madge, never makes your heart soar or makes you cry other than with laughter (Vogue!) You were attacking KB - though your most vitriolic post has been deleted. You obviously rate KB or you wouldn't have come here slagging her off - why bother otherwise? You spell centre like a Yank. Madge sees the UK as the hub of cool - hence her phony accent & living here. If sales are are a measure of worth then J Iglesis is better than Bowie!

  • @deanriam I was expecting emotional engagement of some sort, beyond hilarity. You never get that with Madge, no soul. You were attacking KB - though someone has deleted your post where you were most vitriolic. You obviously rate KB or you wouldn't be on a KB site slagging her off - why bother if she's no competition? You spell centre like a Yank. Madge sees the UK as the hub of cool - hence her phony accent & living here. If quality is down to sales then Celine Dion is better than David Bowie!

  • @deanriam Hanky Panky was so funny I was still laughing when Erotica (equally hilarious, about as sexy as bleach) came on. England is the centre of the music universe, at least when it comes to cool. You lot don't recognise genius when it bites you on the arse. Look at Blondie and The Ramones - they had to come to the UK to get a break. At the end of the day, I am English and listening to Kate Bush. You are American and listening to Madonna. Ask yourself who's winning.

  • I love Kate Bush. Thanks for posting. Can someone tell me the date of this song please?

  • @deanriam That qualifies as the funniest thing I have read in weeks. Madonna has done one good song, ever. She heralded the era of truly talentless celebrity - the triumph of avarice over ability. And other people wrote most of her hits.

. Madonna will be forgotten in a generation or two because her songs are not up to it. She's already being forgotten. My ten year old niece has never heard anything she's done, although she's certainly heard - and loved - Kate because I've played her to her!

  • Comment removed

  • @deanriam Well the music industry and the general population seem to hold Kate quite dear - hence the Ivor Novello award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music, her recent vote on Virgin Media as 1st place in the alternative cool poll, her 2008 vote as the second greatest British songwriter ever etc etc. If 10 year olds aren't Madonna's target then who is? It's not exactly music for adults is it? Madonna is disposable pop propped up by a multi-million dollar stage show. And she's ugly.

  • Comment removed

  • Erotica was aimed at 12 year olds, and rather unsophisticated ones at that. Two words. Hanky Panky. LMFAO too. KB never tried to conquer the US, nor did any 'put it away love' 'Sex' books to flog her stuff. You said KB was forgotten. In your deleted post you said she was forgotten in Britain. I was showing she wasn't. . Kate does no promotion at all and still sells brilliantly. Aerial sold 1000,000 copies in the UK, No 3 in the charts. And are you really interested in the opinions of Americans?

  • Thanks for posting all these great videos. I confess I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to the wonderful Ms. Bush. Would anyone have any recommendations of what albums to get?

  • @lbjb247 - Hounds of Love, Lionheart and The Kick Inside or Never For Ever would be my first 3. However you could just get a greatest hit album of some sort of course. To be honest all of her albums are excellent so any one of them would be good.

  • @the1musiclad Thanks, will check them out

  • KB is a performance and vocal artist of limitless originality and style. Absolutely matchless. This is a terrific video post, thank you so much.

  • Kate Bush ROCKS!!! :)

  • I love how she's very gorgeous and sexy, yet she's not afraid to be weird and make silly faces. I don't see Beyonce do that!

  • tremendous songwriter, and beyond sexiness.

  • You bet! Waaaay beyond sexy...what a performer.

  • The best of all female singers.

  • What an artist! Thanks for posting.

  • love her, always have, and always will.

  • OMG luv it havnt heard it in years yesssss

  • ♥

  • Kate's the best of British and a real English rose.... so talented and a real artist of song and dance... and a musician as well.... she gives me great pleasure every time I see and hear her.... thanks for posting Typhoon10000 ;-)

  • Fenomeno!

  • artists of today are overly sexual, but there's nothing sensual or alluring to them. kate has more appeal in her eyes than all of the gyrating hips of madonna , the lame strut of briney, even beyonce.

  • Kate is a vintage wine.Madonna,Britney and Beyonce are plonk.

  • @integration1000 Agreed Madonna in her desperation to be hip and current . will be forgotten. Kate stays in her truth and integrity and as a consequence will go on eternally.

  • @integration1000 why cant they all be good... after all everyone is different ...... i happen to love them all :D peace

  • @wixy20071 Here,here. :)

  • @enzyme20056 Kate's songs are decent and the melodies are great, unlike many of the songs today >.>

  • @enzyme20056 NEBM - not even beyonce music

  • @enzyme20056

All the celebrities of today seem pretty briny to me. Briny, sour, and nasty. So could you tell me which one you are talking about?

  • @enzyme20056 Well said, Kate is the epitome of the perfect English rose, sexy and stunning but with an innocence and womanly charm. In a time where MTV didn't exist here and neither did chavs and a nation of women desperate to show their tattooed arse crack and G string to the whole of the general public. As they say "you can't buy class, you either have it or you don't"

  • Kate is utterly alluring and mesmerising. Compare this with the 'macho' aggressive overtly sexual posturing of today's performer's like Beyonce and J.LO.

  • I had a dream last night I was singing and dancing to this song in the dark...

  • @MmeLEnfer I have sung and danced to this song in the dark XD

  • This Lady is incredible. Such a voice and such grace. We are very blessed that the music she gives us is of such a pure quality.x

  • Ah, she's gorgeous and she's one of those lovely completely nuts and off-the-wall people who are the ones worth most of all... imagine how boring life would be without people like Kate to entertain the masses.

This song and video are both gorgeous, and I'm a Hammer horror fan myself. They had a charming Gothic sensibility.

  • Absolutely gorgeous- everything about it

  • thank you typhoon

  • This has to be one of the greatest music videos ever made.

  • 1000 thx to uploader.

  • I love this song,..... great mime, .....great interpretation and expression in her performances.

In 200 years time.........her music will still be as fresh and original as the day it was introduced to the world!

  • .. notice the hunch on her back at 0.15 , this woman is bloody brilliant ...the "Queen of originality" , you will never see another artist like Kate Bush....... even madogga has copied half of this womans ideas... sendanor is right & her music is pure talent,....i love her work so much .!!

  • I totallt agree. mind you, its insane that this quirky song was chosen as the albums lead song, charting at no44 in UK!

  • Really Love Kate Bush! - Shes Just 1 of a Kind!

  • she is so beautiful.

  • Gosh so beautiful....!

Thanx for bringing it on in such a smashing quality! Have you restored it somehow?

  • Cool. I was supposed to see Kate Bush in the 70s and my girlfreinds car broke down. Oh well. Thank you. love Hammer films too!!

  • 2:53 Who calls me etc... Wow, very hot

  • Does that bloke in the black think he's invisible by just wearing a bit of a suit? Great song, it grows on you too. He gets to have a gentle go on her kateboobs though, to be fair to him.

  • Most beautiful pagan artist ever...the people of the incrowd know what I mean....

  • Fantastic!!!! What a nostalgia!

  • i've loved her forever.

    and i'm only 14.

    XD

my mom got me listening to her when i was a little little kid.

    this is a classic.

    love it.

  • Rage. Lol

  • She's a bit of a ledge to be fair, I'm 24 years old my mum used to listen to her when I was a child and I love her, I have the original 7" one of my favourite records.

  • brains, body and beauty

shes my all time favourite singer

    her music is just amazing

  • she was so beautiful! thank you!

  • Still is Leojoris ... still is ...
