  • They're called fagbags

  • It burnt it!!

  • damn this dude is sick

  • Whats with the name calling? Respect lost...

  • @bassgypsy00 Name calling? if you can't handle being called a "tool". You have other issues that you need to address first

  • 1+1=2 1x0 =0 1+1+1x0 = 2

It's referred to as a "longer" wheel base, not wider.

  • @bassgypsy00 haha. correct. thanks, but it was meant for our little ignorant friend, Fear1908.

  • @bassgypsy00 your centrifugal force acts through the center you tool... In other words "normal to the bike's length" which is the width of the tire, not the length of the tire... Hence, wider wheel base is what I refer it too... Your friction is based on the contact patch point, which is why if your bike has a narrower tire, you have to lean less compared to a bike with a wider tire. Hows that physics for you?

  • @bassgypsy00 where I'm referring to friction to balance out the counter acting centrifugal force... Again based on the tire width, not the tire length...

  • Before more people say that his body positioning is good, I'd like to clarify that there is more show off here than technique. The cause of tank slappers are due to bad weight distribution, the riders centre of gravity and cornering speed. He was hanging too far off at a low speed causing a tank-slap. And ur not suppose to "force" your knee out during a corner. American newbies. Come to Germany and we teach you proper riding skills.

  • Knee Draggers ^__^

  • he was lucky...more than marco simoncceli. . .

  • Does he have a reverse chicken strip on his rear tire?

  • @zedextwoar His body position is fine

  • Maybe if he put some air in those tires this wouldn't happen.....

  • terrible body cornering position. an accident will wait if it continues. no doubt.

  • @zedextwoar uhh what? He's nicely off his seat with knee dropped for stability... Thats a perfectly fine body position for cornering... I don't even want to know how yours is when cornering :/

  • @Fear1908 ur straight up a 100% amateur/retard, looking good in corners is different then getting your centre of gravity at the right place. Unless you think looking "cool" beats the purpose of "physics". Look at ANY motogp rider and see how low they go at speeds above 200kph. Then let me know if you see their entire body hanging of their bikes. Ignorant boy. its back to basics for you kiddo.

  • @zedextwoar Wow are you fucking retarded? Where did I saw that it is "cool", this guy is right off his seat extended out and down - as in nicely done doesn't mean looking cool, when the fuck did you take physics, that lowers the center of gravity ... A wider wheelbase requires more of a lean angle... If anything is wrong with how he cornered it is his low speed to accompany the lower lean angle... Fucking idiot, dont lecture me on physics, I'll blow you out of the water

  • @Fear1908 wider wheelbase ? WTF ??? you mean surface area ? Please do your homework. Go home kid. And take your trash information with you. Waste of time. blow me out of the water ? hahaha. I like that ! you obviously passed your physics ! hahahahahahahaha.

  • @zedextwoar and that's assuming it wasn't a patch of dirt on the road that he slipped on...

  • @Fear1908 What is 1+1+1x0 ?

  • 0 since you didn't show your brackets, (1+1+1)*0 = 0, use proper BEDMAS in the real world to make it explicit instead of implicit,

  • @Fear1908 haha. thanks for validating your stupidity. im out.

  • @zedextwoar aww, why leave now. Good luck in your future endeavors at McDonalds

  • @zedextwoar oh btw, surface area requires the "area" of a "surface". Which ummmmmm last time I check requires the dimensions such as either *width, length, height, base, etc..By approximating the contact patch as square/rectangle or the integrated sum of infinitesimal squares/rectangles.. Did you even pass basic math to know what the dimensions to get surface area? (Comment referring to wider wheelbase...) Good luck at McDonalds again

  • R1? i think: Buell

  • @ceramotion its an R1

  • So when you go to this road on a Saturday afternoon, are M3's and Lambos and Ducatis just common occurrences?

  • cross plane crank bike engines sound so weird

  • @rnickeymouse your vids are Awsome keep up the good work

  • Pro: That bike is sick as fuck!

Con: Once summer time comes he'll be on fire with all that black lol

  • nice sound !

  • no chicken strips for him

  • Comment removed

  • what was that nice clutch after he gets out of veiw!!!!

  • Until now, I thought fanny packs were gay

  • Comment removed

  • @Wobi05R6

Whats a fanny pack? A fanny is a vagina right?

  • @CH1CKENQUIFF i don't know what a fanny is but a fanny pack is the thing that you put on your waist and carry some things with you. e.g. cellphone some bucks and stuff pause at 0:36

  • @TheRealBhuado, in america fanny refers to your bottom. in the uk fanny refers to a ladies front bottom.... lol in america it's a fanny pack, in the uk it's a bumbag. I shit you not.

  • If you slow it down, you can see me texting some girl at the midpoint. Pushing send at the wrong second caused the slide. Oh well.. live and learn.

  • sigh...

  • can someone tell me what is wrong with that road because every bike that got through there always have a close call or even had an accident at the SAME SPOT......i need some explanation please.....

  • body position wrong, he was lucky

  • he felt the back tire through the cross-plane crank shaft

  • It seems like I see a lot of guys hitting a small bump in the road at this curve in other videos that makes them crash? ...anyway he did a good job in keeping control.

  • that r1 looks mean as fuck

  • He didnt freak out, so he didnt crash...Most people would freak out in that situation

  • @runmvp

Experience saved that one , he felt the slide held the bike of with his knee gradually letting off the gas..

    That's my opinion .

  • Nice Bike.

  • in my opinion the bikes traction did all the ”saiving” he didint evean know what happend by the time it was over. the only smart thing that he did was to let go of the gas. but that happend when the traction already did its job. so in my opinion wasnt his save. it was technologys save. dont hate me. just stating my opinion.

  • poner rodilla como para ir a comprar el pan...

  • His fanny pack saved him :D

  • Is that R1 running a longer swingarm ? It looks very long

  • @tekutaro No extended swingarm. The missing under-seat exhaust cans make the rear tire and swingarm look larger than normal.

  • he CAN ride a bike xD

  • Mickymouse

  • yeah....good job..

  • In front of a camera, he was showing (off) good skills until he over counter steered

just a little bit ... allowed the bike to go where it wanted... gotta love those sparky knee pucks. Yes, doing nothing works much better than sudden movements. It's not how fast you go, it's how well you go fast. (i've almost crashed showing off in front of a camera, a "few times") :) Good job!

  • Good :)

  • That's how it's done!!!

  • extended wheelbasE?

  • How did "How to get your splits for cheer" end up in the related video column?

  • Fanny pack. Nice.

  • This guy is good, This little "mistake" makes him human :p

  • 1 more second turning = lowslide. Win !

  • I wonder why sooo many people lose it there. Is it off camber or what cant I see?

  • @Bigduece2111 I'm guessing, because it is uphill and since the curve is big, people want to test out their skills and some go way out of their skills and loose it. But if you don't test your skills you can't expect to get better.

  • with as many people crash in that corner you would think its time for some foam padding around that guard rail lol

  • Come check out my channel for videos on how to ride! There will be new videos up every Tuesday and Thursday. I'm just starting out so support a fellow youtuber, please.

  • I think someone sprinkled Kryptonite on the road...Nice save Brutha....

  • quit with the slow-mo

  • how did he avoid going down? ive seen dozens of guys have the same shit happen to them on this very channel and it ended horribly

  • @ampark09 two words... rider skill

  • @ampark09 He DIDN'T chop the throttle. He DIDN'T tighten up on the bars. He DIDN'T grab a handful of front brake. He DIDN'T freak out and target fixate on the sandy shoulder and rocks. The bike will tend to sort it self out when minor slides like this occur; dramatic inputs from the rider are what usually lead to a crash. Sometimes doing nothing is the right thing and requires the biggest balls.

  • @chiangxiong I almost heard Keith Code saying that...haha

  • @Ooouuuaaagh I guess it's all starting to sink in. This season should be a good one :)

  • @chiangxiong, i don't care what they have in their pants, but i guess.... you're spot on buddy !

  • @chiangxiong completely agree, minor slides happen alot in the hill country and as long as you keep your cool you'll be able to finish your ride.

  • @chiangxiong if you look closely it appears he shifts his body position slightly just before it starts to slide which is probably what caused it. In saying this your 100% right relax and ease up, keep the throttle on and let physics do it's thing.

  • @chiangxiong it happen to me yesterday, I was hanging off minding my own business and for some reason I felt the rear wheel sliding just a bit and went back in position.. ofcourse my suit was ruined cuz I shit myself.

  • Isap konek

  • @MrFako100 gay gile kau suruh mat salleh isap konek =..=

  • Paul.....you know the ntec 195/65 slick and dot ntec 200/55 have the exact same profile, I've told you that so many times, lol. Both are 191mm width by 656mm tall and fit the same on a 5 1/2" rim.......... The new kr449 US made ntec rear SLICK is listed as a 200/55 instead of 195/65.......... at 191mm wide by 656mm tall, same as the UK ntec slick at 191mm wide by 656mm tall with the exact same roll profile.

  • @dhfgkhjdfsdfgt You are correct Sir Darko, however, when I spoke to a Dunlop tech at an AMA race , he told me the UK ntech slicks 195 measurements were slightly off the dot 200s even though their listed as the same. However, He also mentioned the new US ntec KR449 slick "is" going to be the same measurement as the dot 200.

  • Nice riding, nice save. He would've gone down if he chopped the throttle.

  • NICE SAVE AND CLEAN BIKE.....YAMAHA BABY

  • TC?

  • @quickvr4 If u watched my vids u would kno that I have experience...at a fast pace. I agree, there are multiple styles of riding but gripping the bars too tight is never a good habit. Form and style are different. Every pro rider has similar form; different style. Why do u think there is not 1 pro racer who doesn't drag knee? Cuz it's a part of correct form that makes u more stable (and go faster). Dragging elbow or backing it in are examples of style...once the rider has correct form

  • Are you buying those ntec's as takeoffs or new? That's a hella expensive tire for street riding.

  • Best way to deal with real end washing out? Roll off throttle and countersteer into the turn right?

  • what kind of tires are you running in this vid mbb?

  • @nickgnaime Tires: Dunlop UK ntec 211 200/55/17 rear with 24 lbs of pressure. Stock size front same model.

  • @malibubeachboy wow you run 200s huh? Do a lot of your buddies run the same thing?

  • @nickgnaime 200s are designed for 6 inch rims which most newer 1000cc have. 600s only have 5.1/2 inch rear rim and will only support a 190, because the wider 200 will bend to a tall un-natural shape that results in less side grip. That said, I use take-off Dunlop N-Tec slicks, which the rear is a 195, but doesn't bend the tire on a the 5,1/2 inch rim. During the cooler days, I prefer the ntec 211...190s of course.

  • I really wish they'd make an fz1 with that engine for us old men. Damn that sounds good!

  • Pro- Caliber!!!

  • Love that Crossplane melody.

  • He's a good rider, he's merely improving, you can see him playing with the limits of his bike bringing his knee in a bit. Theres nothing wrong with pushing limits.

  • that rider's a jerk and a long way from pro. those sparks are metal knee sliders, and they're going to make the road surface really shitty and torn up for the next riders who come through.

  • @disbenefits It does not effect the road surface at all. Its a hard plastic compound and tiny titanium bolts. The sparks are it burning up from friction. If you walk the corner as I have, you will see no damage at all is done to the road. If it did, even a little bit, I would never do it. Its only once in a while for show. You're right, I am not on the pro circuit however, I am on the Chuckwalla one.. so If you want to try out my race skills instead of my sunday morning canyon ride.

  • @malibubeachboy Don't bother with the haters. No matter how many ways you explain things they still won't get it.

So was it the surface or the angle of the turn that reduced traction in your case? Never ridden the snake and even after all of rnickeys videos I still have no clue as to what makes that curve such a eater of all things wheeled.

  • @PTKilowatt The haters don't bother me at all.. when it comes down to it.. they are watching 'my video' and that makes me smile.. lots of pride in that! We all obviously have the same passion or they would be watching the kitten videos.. Some of the input does help other riders watching. As far as that turn goes.. Its tricky.. but I think Derek, Johnny or one of the other pros could answer that better then I so Ill leave that to them.

  • Had that 3x at angeles crest..... scared the shit outta me.

  • Nice save but it was so small he probably barely felt it. I've started to recognize what loss of traction feels like since I have been riding dirt. It is a lot of fun when it kicks out only a couple inches and then swings back. Next step is roosting : ). Oh and gotta love that big bang engine. So SEXY sounding!

  • nice save bro... would have cried if he crashed this beautiful r1 :)

  • People, unless you have real life experience losing traction on motorcycles your comments have 0 credibility. You do know that right?

  • @quickvr4 It's always the same bla-bla-bla on these videos. I usually don't even bother reading the comments anymore. Most people are overanalyzing these crashes.

  • holy chit hees fast man

  • TRC TRC TRC TRC TRC TRC I PREFER KAWA AND BMW NICE PARTS ELETRONICS

  • if it had TRC would not have this problem

  • since when do R1's sound like this? I'm not a huge bike enthusiast so that's a genuine question...anyone?

  • @imSkillz This is the cross plane crank r1, basically fires of the cylinders in pairs, so it sounds more like a twin than a 4. They sound great!

  • @daletheguvnor whats the performance difference? sounds like a ducati :D

  • @crackerstolemybike You're swearing now, lol. Ducati's suck.

  • @993ti well they are basicly the mac of the motorbike world (thats the way i see it) but i wouldent say no to one :P

  • @crackerstolemybike Lol, that's one way to say it ;) I wouldn't say no to one either. Would sell it right away though :P

  • @993ti yep haha

  • @crackerstolemybike prob not much, its all to do with feel and the way the power is delivered, top speed and bhp are the same as normally configured 4 cylinder bikes. it does sound like a ducati cause of the way the cylinders fire, basically two pairs, rather than 4x1 cylinders, so it almost sounds like a twin.

  • sweet bike

  • batman on his day off

  • Save?man he almost got an elbow slide too!taht would be awesome!

  • Loooove That fu**in sound!!! Awsome! :D or Legan WAIT FOR IT... ddddaaary! To c what we have in Germany watch my VID :)

  • OMF DARKO is rockin a fany pack anyone else nottice it ?

  • Nice save. I know the feeling when your rear tire starts to slip. It's like your buthole kisses the inside of your underwear. Mwah!

  • You know I always thought Fanny Packs were for fags, but this hardcore slip and slide video has changed my mind.

    Fanny Pack ordered!

  • @Zawan Its cos some of the best leathers dont have any pockets inside :)

  • @pilotman750 I know I have a one piece too, until today I would stuff my wallet and phone in an old glove and put it in under the seat....

But this has changed the game.

  • @Zawan two words... mordeth 13

  • @rtsoccerplayer Oh, you're a fan as well? :)

I'm new to his vids but enjoying them so far.. where is he from?

  • @XplosivCookie Canada.. or America. But I think Canada

  • @Pwn3dByPhysics But he lives in an Asian region and his parents are from the UK :S

  • @rtsoccerplayer THATS A WORD AND A NUMBER BY ANYWAY.

  • @rtsoccerplayer haha :D he inspired me to wear one on the bike too! :D i hope i´ll manage to join his tour someday

  • @rtsoccerplayer That is one word and one number

  • Awesome bike, awesome suit. If you see it in slow-mo, it wasn't even such a "close call" so: Awesome rider.

  • Sick riding, sick bike, sick save. The fanny pack tho... :p

  • That's what happens when Superman forgets his cape.

  • I dont understand why that area lots of close calls or crashes...whats wrong with the road? the riders lean really good but why still crash? can i have some tips please.

  • @dennischristopherPA

It is quite simple, lot of riders > lot of crashes. Maybe, the road isn't the best, but which road is. It is same in here, we have one road, that is quite famous among riders and each time I'm passing thru, I see a crash...

  • @dennischristopherPA Many of the crashes happen when the rider comes on the throttle too early/too much. That is why you would see the rear of the bike slide.

  • That'll make your asshole pucker...

  • Amazing machine do r1 really sound like that? Sounds like a mini cosworth dfv is inside lol

  • Hi guys, could someone explain how to react in that situation? I am a beginner and i dont know yet...

  • @viby1002 First of all.... DONT PANIC! ease of the throttle but not so much because you'll just high side and fly into the oblivion. NEVER break during the turn/lean or try to avoid it as much as possible.

  • @caguamassatanicas thanks mate :)

  • Realy good reaction time. Respect.

  • Nice save. I like a save over a crash any day. well done rider.

  • nice and quick reaction

  • He caught it pretty early, good rider :)

  • nice save!

    very steady.

  • WRONG. WRONG. I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT AND IM SPEWING BULLSHIT BUT THAT'S WRONG.

  • good job!

  • I Love BigBang sound!!!

  • @MrDnBeer

    It's not a Big Bang. It's a Cross-plane engine. It's not the same thing

  • @MrDnBeer It actually sounds like a Honda VFR 400...if you ever happen to hear one with aftermarket exhaust at the rev limit,i think it sounds slightly better!

  • @KeriNyx You are correct when you said, "Sparklers mess up the road," but lets be more actuate here. The metal rods that makes contact with the road round out the edges of the asphalt, thus smoothing the very surface the tires rely on for grip. Sparklers are not allowed on any race track for this very reason. Using them for a photo every now and then is cool, but, I am against the constant use of them on the best road we have.
