Ron Paul doesn't have a chance Rob. He does have some good ideas but you have to look at the whole package. At his core, he is pacifist-isolationist as well as some extreme social positions he doesn't usually talk about. This is why the Libertarian Party gets less than 1% of the vote each election - the American people reject this side of it. It is 2011- not 1911 and the US can't "hide" behind the oceans anymore. The world is a dangerous place, we can't "wait" for bad things to come here.

@redlegagent Yea, I know, but i'd like to see some real change and I think Ron Paul could really shake things up. I don't see why we have to be the "world police" when the world just dumps on us anyway.

@robbie574 - I understand and this is what attracts "anti-war" people to him.  On the flip side of the coin, if he had his way, he would gut defense even more than the Dems. He thinks we can disengage from the world except for trade - never going to happen. Our strength is what's kept us safe. If you "wait" for others to attack you - then you are fighting on their terms which is bad for you. For whatever reasons, some hate the US, but we must remain vigilant none the less.
