I saw this episode of "The Rifleman" Mark was accused by the teacher of putting Jujubees or something in the teachers book, and the teacher unfairly beat his ass for it.
the teacher was just having fun with Mark... if he really wanted to hurt him, he would... after all, he is none other than Anton Karidian, aka Kodos "the Executioner", the former governor of the earth colony of Tarsus IV, who was responsible for the massacre of over 4000 people, including some of Captain Kirk's family...

Many thanks for posting! Now this is one episode that I have seen...it was a few years ago on the Encore Western Movie Channel. This schoolmaster reminds me of some of the ones they later had on "Little House on the Prarie'....very strict but not very understanding, patient or kind. A good teacher has to more than just an effective disciplinarian! That switch had to smart! Owie!
