It was a rolling start at about 40 mph. He rapped it out just before redline and shifted, but he did say he wasn't shifting well since he just bought it. 0-60, he would have taken me, but from 3rd gear on up, my Mazdaspeed 3 takes most cars. I have a cold air intake and 3" cat back exhaust.
By the way, we weren't racing, just goofing around!
More like 40 mph. The Mazdaspeed 3 really doesn't get good traction in 1st or 2nd gear. Once it hits 3rd gear, the ECU allows full boost at 15.6 psi and spikes up to 19 psi for the initial start. This car with the intake and exhaust has about 300hp and 300tq and since it's only fwd, it weighs 3150 lbs. So if you think about it, when it gets traction it has fewer lbs per hp than the evo. Unless that is, you have a lot of mods! It's all in theory anyways cause i'll never race my car!
If you pulled ahead of him on any runs, he's shifting way too early. That car should be able to do 0-60 in under 5 sec. easily. Have you done some work to your Mazda?

Elise has 190hp, just not enough to keep up at those speeds. It's just not where the light weight car exceeds.
