If Ross Sr had run again when Bill Clinton retired, it would be a whole different world. No wars, Trillions in the black instead of red ! We could afford world class healthcare SS would be in good shape, it would be the best of situations instead of the worst. USA would be loved worldwide as it was when Bill was president! @JohnMichaels20 not true. perot used to be a republican, so it makes sense that he would take votes from the republicans. thats like saying nader didnt lose gore the election in 2000. perot lost bush and possibly dole the elections in 92 and 96 respectively.

The term "republican" is just a label, it doesn't mean much ideologically. his stances on the issues were closer to Clinton's than Bushs, like gays, abortion, guns, and wanted a gasoline tax, than to either Bush's or Dole's. Exit polls, which are more reliable than your tea party ass, show that Perot wasn't anything close to a Nader. Perot was not an ideologue, Nader was. You're a fucking idiot. Go teabag yourself.

@pierceroe13 also remember Bush Sr.'s approvals were in the 30s and low 40's for most of that year, which is where Carter was, where Johnson was when his party lost the White House, where Truman was where his party lost the White House in 1952, and where Bush II was when his party lost the White House in 2008. @pierceroe13 If approval is low when the election rolls around, why does it matter what it was at the beginning? Also, his numbers were high because of a military victory: people forget about it quickly, because its not like the economy where the affect is always there, and the economy is largely what brought Bush's popularity down, and made it a referendum on him and his party's economics record. They tried to deflect and do family values, way to the right of the American people

@Leebm29 the GOP had to make him into a "spoiler," which he never was, to justify Bush's loss, tho more to delegitimize Bill Clinton as an excuse to railroad him. If they hadn't done that to Perot, Perot may have had a good shot against Al Gore.
