The same thing happened here in Welwyn Garden City,Hertfordshire where I live. Funnily enough I coudn't sleep and I just happened to glance out the window about 2.15am and then the sky flashed bright purple. Must of lasted a good hour and a half here. I was crapping myself. The thunder and lightning was phenomenal. Easily the best thunderstorm to hit us here in the Southeast in years.

I love lowestoft, I come down every year from derby on pakefield caravan site and I got woken up by this and we were only in a little caravan. :-o

I got woken up by this storm in East London. I was sound asleep and when i woke up i thought i heard a loud crash and i was right, it was a storm. Stayed up to watch the rest of it, this probabily explans the bags under my eyes today! LOL

Dover had this too last night, started at about 12:30 here.

I was woken up by this storm, i was quite a good one! lots of deep rumbles, love it!
