oh, that would be suuuuuch a nightmare for a seasick passenger-ploughing back and forth as docking was impossible-we had a rough crossing and it was delayed, but thank heavens the Captain [or whoever was steering!] was able to dock-and very glad I was too, even as an 8yr old kid!

Crikey, that's a good day! (and it's the Foveaux Strait) :) When you can't see over the top of the waves; now that's fun!

Bloody hell - that made me feel sick just watching it! I'm not surprised you were ill for so long afterwards!

I did that crossing but it was very smooth sailing; @PorudKiwi tells me of the time that ferry went back and forth between ports for 18 hours because the waters were too rough to dock in :(

you should try the wellington to picton crossing on a bad day ... 3 hours long and just as much fun! (it if fun and excitement ya know!)
