Golf - Hitting a Driver off the Deck

my favorite shot in golf. perfect for straightaway par 5s. i generally hit a fade when i hit it off the deck, so i also use it on dog-legs to the right

You are right.I have played this shot with some success but I have concluded that you need more clubhead speed to launch it off the fairway than you do off the tee.I have 2 drivers (9 deg ping Raptures). One with a standard length shaft,the other 48 inches.The 48 inch one works well off the fairway but goes too high off the tee and the shaft flexes too much because it is so long.The standard length driver goes too low and short off the deck.So I think you need the proper loft flex and speed.

Why is it no pros hit drivers off the deck?

@willrooney1994 They do. Not all the time because you can't elevate the ball enough to stop it on any green. Vijay does it frequently, Ernie, etc. The typical tour par 5 is not setup easy enough to receive a shot rolling in to the front of the green, as well as the fact that drivers are made with much taller faces which makes it even harder to put enough spin on it to get it up in the air.

i usually fade it of the deck about 5 6 yrds. it's cool how you can draw it. i'll usually block it right if i try a draw but good swing mate.

because of the loft you retard, in the wind blowing in your face it is a much farthre shot by at least 20-60 yards. God you people think that you know anything about golf.
