@1Macc101 After Lee Naylor stayed down, Beasant kicked the ball towards touch so that a physio could come onto the field. Unfortunately, he rolled the ball towards touch rather than booting it into the stands. Michael Branch chased the ball down, caught it before it reached the touchline, and the rest is history.

What the fuck did Tony Vaughan do!?!... maybe his challenge for the ball was a bit strong but nothing vicious, maybe they had words after the challenge... BUT all I can see is Akinbiyi being agressive then attacking him outright...

Maybe Aki realised what a gash striker he was!

I'm FOREST till i die but I really don't know why we kept having Beasent in goal in that period, as he was obviously past it and Crossley was still a million times better.

Remember this match, didn't remember Bazley's screamer though! Where did that come from! lol. The next season Beasant tried to kick the ball out the stadium when he had to kick it out of play for a free kick, it didn't quite make it out though :-) lol

This video brings back memories. I sold programmes at the Molineux at the time. I was cashing up in the stadium when I heard an almighty commotion (Akinbiyi had just been sent off). I watched the rest of the match and the first half was a very nasty affair with some nasty tackles. It was rumoured at the time that the Police went into both dressing rooms at half time and warned the players that anymore of that and they would be facing charges. It must have worked the 2nd half was very sterile

Anyone else remember what happened about 10 minutes after Branch's goal? Forest had a player down getting treatment just before they were going to take a corner, so the game was stopped. Branch squatted down in the centre circle ready for the restart, and Beasant ran 50 yards to carry on shouting at him lol.

Fun game.

forest all stopped for the injured player and so did all the wolves players exept branch who notices the ref hadnt blown the wistle so he carried on and put the ball in the onion bag

Beasant tried to throw the ball out when Naylor was lying injured. It never made touch so Branch got of hold of it and stuck it in the net

I was at that game and the first half was one of the best i had seen for incidents and atmosphere for quite some time. At half time the police went into both dressing rooms to tell both sides to calm down apparently! Yes the second half was dull compared to the first:p

But you know, they've been broadcasting English matches in Scandinavia since 1969, and thats one of the reasons so many Scandinavians support British clubs.

In fact Wolves vs Sunderland, back in 1969 where Hugh Curran scored the only goal of the game was the very first game broadcast here.
