  • This game looks so much better when you turn the brightness down and the contrast up in the NTSC filter in ZSNES.

  • Such a MASSIVE downturn from casltevania 4

  • Oh my God! A monkey playing Dracula X!!!

  • amasing video

    thanks for upload this classic

  • stage 1 BGM is so castlevania make's me wana swing my weap to those mummy

  • stage 1 BGM is so castlevania make's me wana swing my weap to those mummy

  • I still feel this is the best old school castlevania

  • Why does every Vampires Kiss video say ( Dracula X )

When I was a kid, everyone said Vampires Kiss.

It even says Vampires Kiss on the game, and the game,I am watching at it right now.

  • @RestInPeaceBruceLee Vampires Kiss is the name of the EUR version. Dracula X is the name in the USA.

  • @ShiryuGL OoooooooooooooooooOOOOOOooooooooOOOoooh......

    Honestly,Vampires Kiss sounds better.

  • @RestInPeaceBruceLee The original title of this game was Akumajō Dracula XX (悪魔城ドラキュラXX). It was known as Dracula X in the US, and Vampire's Kiss in Europe. It is regarded as Dracula X since it is the ported version of the game Akumajō Dracula X (悪魔城ドラキュラX) for the PC Engine/Turbo Grafx Duo that was released only in Japan at that time (now it is available on Wii everywhere) which has the reputation of being the best Castlevania for the older systems.

  • haha all this time and I had no idea Richter Belmont could do backflips and jump on the staris, I always did it old school, starting from the bottom of the stairs and shit... wtf. I have to say the music is amazing, makes you feel all pumped up and "heroish".

  • isn´t that song from one of the power rangers games? i swear i heard it before in another game

  • @Etrigan2500 They say its close to CD Q.

  • Castlevania, when vampires give kiss in the neck, not on the dick.

  • The sound of the whip in this game is sick

  • @Etrigan2500 Video dump from SNES9x emulator. =)

  • catchy song on 1st stage.

  • Draculas laughter scares me. But why no boss fight though?

  • 1. Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles - Rondo of Blood

    2. Castlevania - Dracula X Chronicles

    3. Castlevania Dracula X - Vampire's Kiss

And there where different versions for all countries, damn it's so confusing!

  • Is this really THE Castlevania Dracula X Vampire's Kiss is'nt this just the regular game? I know 3 names for this game and just a small fraction of the game was changed and it's barely noticeable -.-'

  • why do so many ppl hate the snes version so much i think it looks cool .

  • Wow, i had no idea this came out on SNES too!

  • HE died becuase he didn't perform the backflip

  • The opening brings back the days of Zelda 3: A Link To The Past for SNES. :D

  • @DukeNukem2020 Dude, I know you wrote this 3 months ago, but that's EXACTLY what I thought when it started up ^_^ Gotta love Link to the Past!

  • richter: im so badass i dont need to run...

  • 1:27 the most scary laugh i have ever heard

  • backflip abuse and lol at the end :D

  • Weird, I got Dracula X for the SNES Emulator and I dont have any Cutscenes or the Prolog in the Beginning, maybe I should download another Version? Does anybody knows about anything about it?

  • @BlacK40k I have both the a emulator version & a copy for my SNES, both of them shows the cutscene if you just turn on the game to the title (start game, password, etc) and leave it be for 20 sec or so.

  • @GeneralErlend

Oh, I see, thank you =)

  • I love this game!!! One of the best soundtracks and graphically speaking i like it more than Rondo. I just wish theya dd the anime cinematics and thats all

I still have it but i never complete it x3

  • omg the music is amazing isn't it? I miss midis!

  • @holastickboy Google: Castlevania midis > Castlevania MIDI Shrine > Scroll down to Rondo of Blood / Dracula X midis. :)

  • @GeneralErlend nice, thanks man!

  • In this game you jump like Belmont in Castlevania 1... Horrible gameplay, I prefer Castlevania 4, and of course Rondo of Blood.

  • por todo te caes!

  • kick-ass music :D

  • This is a good game. The control is stiff, but the music, story and levels were all great. Still, the major problem I have here is that you can only whip straight ahead. That's really annoying. I mean, in Castlevania IV, you could whip in pretty much any direction. Was there any reason why you can't in this game? And you can't moonwalk up staircases either.

  • Sigh... I was born too late.... I got a SNES, but I don't got a PAL version of Rondo....

  • this cartridge / pal version is fucking RARE.

  • @RCDarknessfilms Okay RCDarknessfilms I see your point. My bad. -_-' Anyways, I think it would be cool if Bloodlines were to come to VC.

  • @RCDarknessfilms I don't think KONAMI will release Castlevania Dracula X for the Wii's Virtual Console. I think I read something on Wikipedia about it being removed from the official timeline. However, Rondo of Blood is available and it's probably better because you can also play as Maria.

  • @LareBearProductions Konami should released Bloodlines on Genesis on VC instead.

  • @LareBearProductions Screwed that 4kids-esque Version of Rondo of Blood on SNES if we have The Funimation-Esque Real Thing of PSP & Virtual Console.

  • how many stage does castlevania x have?

  • @hdez1988 totally between 10-12 levels but the specially you have to find the 2 girls not defeat dracula primary !^^

  • @Pro21xx

It's a good game. People constantly complain over stupid stuff about it, but it's still fun.

  • is dracula x worth getting if you have dracula x chronicles on psp which has sotn a psp version of rondo and the pc version of rondo?

  • 4:29

    ROFL!

  • I like Bloodlines better for some reason

  • Why do so many of the early Castlevania characters walk instead of run?

  • The concepts of the original Castlevania and Vampire's Kiss games called for slower speed for focus on precision.

  • But even in the later Metroid-vanias the character running animations look slow and a bit weird. Like Jonathan and Chralotte

  • Idk man. Enjoy the games or move on.

  • Sorry I was just asking but I still love the games except for Curse of Darkness. For me Order of Ecclesia was the best :)

  • Haha yeah, I understand why you would dislike Curse of Darkness. My favorite would have to be CV III, followed by IV, Rondo of Blood, CV1, and Symphony of the Night. Ecclesia is tight though. Did you get any enjoyment out of LoI? I actually don't mind the PS2 Castlevanias much, despite the horrible repetition and long stretched of boring hallways.

  • Nope many people said Lol is nice but I dont have a PS2, how sad.

  • Dracula X is the 2nd most underatted CastleVania game in the franchise. The most underatted one is defentily Simon's Quest. But this one is still a classic in my book along with Super CastleVania IV,Sympony of the Night,Legacy of Darkness and the 3 previous NES games.

  • This game I think has better graphics and background design. If Richter wasn't so sluggish. That's the only problem I really have.

I also liked the Comic Book styled artwork. Jazzy.

But there's a reason why they called this Dracula XX instead of Dracula X. This game has insanely hard moments and the final battle is nuckin futs.

The music is pretty much intact at least.

  • Oh, and now there's a bad ending if Maria and the other lady, forgot her name aren't found. Rondo of Blood just kind of goes to the credits nothing different. Although, it could be a glitch in the PSP port? =?

  • Is Castlevania: Dracula X the same exact version as Castlevania: Vampire's Kiss? I know one is the US version, the other European, but are there ANY differences between them like blood or what not?

  • This game had atrocious level design. Very uninspired and bland.

  • Agreed. The first two levels have their moments, but after that its all tight corridors with axe armors or spear guards, followed by ascending staircases with medusa's. Not particularly interesting to look at, not very challenging, and not fun. At least its over quick.

  • I actually think the graphics are better than in the original game. Shame that we can't play as Maria, though

  • this game is pure shit compared to Castlevania IV, whats with the kiddy cartoon look?

  • I really like Dracula X despite its stiff controls.

Music is great. The only problem i found was Shaft wasn't in this game(as far as I know for the SNES version) meaning that the biggest portion of the plot to Dracula X was missing.

  • @90sHeroMAXD People just like to bitch & moan really. The point is dracula X is still a great game. Better than super castlevania IV in my opinion. which is for wimps :P besides the game is all different from rondo of blood so it shouldn't be called a port. SCV4 just hasn't got the challenge this game has, and the music sounds a lot better.

  • This is Castlevania VI: Vampire's Kiss. A decent game, but it could've been better. The music is awesome and it's good 'ol Castlevania side-scrolling, but the controls are not as smooth as in Castlevania IV and Castlevania V: The New Generation/Bloodlines, both which are my all-time favourites!

  • Perhaps the only saving grace for the SNES ver. of Dracula X is the insanely difficult fight against Dracula.

  • I can't find this for less than $100.00...

  • @CougarLeonII I hopre ur kidding

    if not just download it

  • I did download this already. But that doesn't mean that I still can't find a copy for less that $100.

And no. I wasn't kidding at all.

  • graphics music sfx great

  • This is the only Castlevania game I have ever played (yeah I know ... sorry) and I love it. Especially the music! It's that funky guitar... oooooh yea!

  • Good, but the Medusa Heads in Stage one can be annoying. And I dont think you can run

  • I tot it was called Bloodlines.

  • That one was another game, for the Sega Genesis/Megadrive... A great game IMHO.

  • the song of this stage is the same song when you fight against richter belmont of castlevania SOTN. blood relations

  • there,re good things about this game.

you can change temperatury your weapon once grabing another weapons you can jump from 1 to another stears you can use your special weapons against enemy,s also it seems that killed enemy,s don,t come back again.

trough manny annoying enemy,s are hard to beat.

  • Love the only version I've played (SNES)!!! This game can be very tough, especially certain obstacles where you have to clear a jump, etc while enemies are flying around and push you over the edge. There have been times when I wanted to throw my computer out the window with frustration! But when that happens, I just give it a day off.

  • I like the hand drawn art styled environments.

  • I actually dont understand some of the comments here, I thought this game kicked ass, I never finished it and I still forward to playing it again.

  • People are lame. They are trying to find fault in it because it wasn't the same as Rondo of Blood.

  • I thought it was bad and rage worthy. It was frustrating and not in a "part of the challenge" kind of way. More like Konami purposely wanted to troll people with the final battle.

  • I prefer Castlevania 4 because you have more control over your whip.

  • i like this better then castlevania 4.

  • I played this as i was kidd. Its a funny game, if i follow my memory. Its some years now, so im not sure :P

  • I kind of wanted Dracula X to be a part of the PSP's Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles but, alas, it is not.

  • I just downloaded a SNES emulator and a Dracula X ROM, and I have a question. How do you make Richter backflip. I'm playing with a keyboard by the way. Here are my controls: Enter= Start/Pause, Z= Jump, A= Attack, S=Special, etc.

  • You have to jump straight up (no diagonals!) and press jump again on the peak of your jump. This is needed to reach some platforms, If I recall correctly. =)

  • Okay, thanks!

  • @LareBearProductions hey i also got the emulator but my emulation es kinda slow. How's your configuration ?

  • @parcofantasma Mine's set at Max Frame Rate 9 by default, Auto Frame Rate is checked, New GFX Engine is checked, MMX Support is checked, Enable Auto-Patch is checked, and Enable ROMInfo.txt is checked. Everything else is unchecked. I hope this helped you.

  • @LareBearProductions thanks a lot man!! it was really helpful!!

  • @parcofantasma No Problem. If you've got anymore questions, just give me a shout.

  • 3:56 strange..............it was supposed to be a "Grand Cross" but it was a cross scater??

  • In portrait of ruin its spelled grand cruz instead of cross. weird

  • "Cruz" is Cross in portuguese.

  • @ShiryuGL Also in Spanish

  • @KINGKICK612 Also, that's the last name of Soma.

  • they call this the worst game in the series.

  • Amazing how these 16 bit tunes still sound great.

  • what is the diference to vampire's kiss to the dracula x?

  • i think vampires kiss in australia is supposed to be a uncensored version. god i fucking hate censorshit.

  • yeah man, I'm with you

  • yeah this game is one of the best castlevania ever but still no match fos symphony of the night^^

  • This game's not bad if you love the original three games, which I do.

  • Rondo Of Blood is the far superior PC Engine version of this game. I own it and also own this SNES version, which doesn't even compare.

  • mmmmmmm i dont understand!!!!!!!1

this is vampire kiss for snes, but i downloaded it and the name is rondo of blood but rondo is forother console, FOR WHAT CONSOLE IS RONDO OF BLOOD???????

  • the music is AWESOME!

  • hey this games is soo cool i love castlevania

  • You know, I've always wondered if it was possible to actually port Rondo of Blood to SNES. Despite that, this was a good game. It's quite tough too. And I also think "Opposing Bloodlines" sounds a lot cooler here than on the original PCE version.

  • that bottom comment was a reply to bones22j

  • I love the soundtrack! Funky vibe to it while dealing justice to zombie freaks and bats. Not to mention he's the most dynamic Belmont with his flips and such. Never seen this game before, so thanks for the upload.

  • Way to go.

  • the fuck? thats what makes the game so cool, l2play castlevania or go with your plan of throwing yout psp out the window

  • Comment removed

  • The first level music is simply brilliant

  • Ooops...

  • i still hate the fucking controlls and medusas and stayrs and jumoing.......

  • This game was a missed oppertunity! I loved the NES games but I was so disappointed in this game. The graphics and sound were amazing (The music was particularly awesome) but the gameplay was so frustrating. It'd help if your guy could whip upward or diagonally but he can't and it just leaves you open to attack from above and below all the time.

It's fun but you come away feeling that your death wasn't fair rather than it being a good challenge!

  • this game is fuckin sick

  • Oh, so THIs is Dracula X. I played this once on my SNES emulator. But mie had trouble with the fire at the star tand the music wasn't as good as this one.

  • Now, now. No need to get upset simply because you can't play a Castlevania.

  • Where Can I find the Mp3 for this game??

  • what are you ppl saying? In all the castlevanias the guys walk (slow) !? In this Cvania our hero walks no more slower than before, And thats not even slow guys!

  • Super Castlevania 4 is the best if you ask me.

  • this game is one of my favorites even if he walks slow lol =P

  • At least the music is rockin'.

  • why he walk so slow?

  • He does not walk. He strides. With a purpose.

  • ok wus stride?

  • because snes is slow.

  • good point

  • if it was on the genesis it would use blast processing and he would roll around in a ball :P

  • yup but in da remake he still slow

  • haha

    :D

  • All castlevania's they walk slow at least the ones i played from castlevania1 to sotn! After that, the ones with the faggy anime type characters they probably do walk fast, never played those. What you have to understand is that was how the game was designed, and they stuck with it, if you actually played the originals like it did when they came out, you wouldn't find it bad at all.

  • ur right i played this game know it actully makes kinda cool n it doesnt end so quickly so yeah.

  • Um... I think DoS and PoR are the only ones with an anime art-style.

  • Chi no Rondo and Castlevania Legends too ;)

  • you can press foward forward and it will run and same thing back back to run backward if you dont like to walk

  • ok w/e dude

  • Totally agree the musics is VERY GOOD as good as the Nec version maybe better!

The graphics are Much better too!

  • The game, especially in terms of structure, was not as good as Rondo of Blood. However, many of the modern sprites in Castlevania are still being extracted from the SNES games.

However, I disagree with some of you when it comes to sound: FX sound may be quite shrill, but the background music has even greater quality than in NEC's machine.

  • was this game a hit during its time? for me i know it was

  • So this is the infamous Dracula X port?

...Well, it's certainly not as good as the PC-Engine original, but it's not *bad*.

  • you crazy, ive seen the engine port, no castlevania beats this one

  • That'll be a matter of contention amongst hardcore Castlevania fans.

    I don't think it's a bad game.

It's just hard to beat Rondo's CD music, brancing paths, extra character, other secrets, etc.

But truth be told, I haven't played enough of this one yet, so... off I go!

  • The music in lvl.1 sounds pretty Good!

  • the music in lvl 1 is what kept me in love with castlevania x ^^

  • loser!

  • do you know what the song is called?

  • actually its "Bloodlines"

gangster song though for a 1st stage bgm

  • Not a bad game, but my biggest qualms with it vs. Rondo were that the hit recovery time was too short, and you walk slower than when you jump. In Rondo, whether you're in air or walking, you move at the same speed. In the SNES version, I'm constantly jumping because it's faster. Also the holy cross attack is gone... waaaah. I think I'll post a video of me playing this game, show some skills haha

  • wow i'd like to see this on the ds

  • oh haha thanks. yeah so did i, it was on the SNES though.

  • oh hahaha ok, thanks for not getting too pissed. it would be awesome if someone did a "mad skills" vid of this game. i dont have "skillzz" either, but i think i am fairly good. if i can find this game and download it (oh no illegallzzz) i will upload a vid. ;P

  • this is a nice game. love the music and everyting. but you seriously suck, lol.

  • Though purists will argue that this isn't the real prequel to SOTN, that doesn't change the fact that it's a very decent game for the SNES.

  • It was also released in Japan as Akumajou Dorakyura XX(Demon Castle Dracula XX). Personally, I thought the game was awesome, even if it was a lacking port of Rondo of Blood.
