so long as men can hear his voice, the voice God sent to comfort His children who are suffering in this cold and cruel world today, the maestro never dies.
o death, where is your sting?
ah, hades. you can never brag of having the maestro in your shadows.
Hes the boss, the king, the master. A constant source of inspiration. Even now that he is in the great beyond. check out my humble recording of this piece. I love comments.
Does the piece's introduction resemble "Invanno Alvaro" from Verdi's La Forza del Destino to anyone else? Does anyone know if Tosti was influenced by Verdi...I'm not too knowledgeable of Tosti's music. As usual, Pava sounds wonderful!! He becomes someone else when he performs...it's touching!
Perfecto! Molto Bene! Perfect technique, perfect interpretation, perfect sensitivity to the music, perfect concentration and more. What more could you ask?
If you already like PAVAROTTI check now THE 30 TENORS in my playlist SUPER TENOR ARIAS ( including CLAUDIO SOTELO performing ARIA DEL CIRUJANO as a world première for YOU TUBE ) and tell me which one you prefer
Each time I find a new recording of Pavarotti I am amazed by how much work goes into his vocalises. The perfect mix of natural talent and technique has generated some of the most beautiful and emotive recordings ever created. I am very sad that I shall never meet this man.
Fantastico, straordinario ! Assolutamente meraviglioso ! Mi mancano le parole ! Grande Luciano ! Il suo ricordo perdurerà en il mio cuore per sempre ! Per sempre... Mi manca Pavarotti... Mi manca tanto...
This is not from an opera. Tosti was an Italian composer. No one sings his songs like The Great Man. :-)
Another of Tosti's songs, Marechiare, sung by Luciano, is here on YouTube. It's fantastic too. He always sang it towards the end of a recital and audiences went wild.
i like pavarotti's muzic, its so beautiful, but i hate those tv voice overs in the language of that country, why not just put the lines of text underin the screen?
Like luciano said every moment: "a singer is also an actor". And he really was. Most of singers should see how much expression he give just at the first phrase of every song. Faboulus!!
Even though I've listened to maestro luciano for years - he is my favorte, this is the first time I've heard his speaking voice. What suprises me is how high his speaking voice is and how more forward, or even'chesty' at times his singing voice is... I always imagined his speaking voice a little lower. Any comments on what you hear?
Often the speaking voice is of a higher pitch than one may expect when used to hearing the operatic voice. This is simply because there is generally more color and richness in an operatic sound than there is in a spoken sound. I've even heard basses who sound fairly "tenorial" when speaking.
if you heard basses ho speak with high voice, its beacuse they are tenors too but didnt train their voice! people aspecially singing teachers dont learn out well so people gets their voices destroyd... you maybe heard about speech level singing.. if you have then you got a solution for all that!
As a singer, I would have to somewhat disagree. Though basses that speak "tenorial" are a rarity, it is possible. When it comes to the singing voice, it largely is determined by tessitura and color, something which is not really heard to its full extent in the speaking voice. In general, people speak too low than is healthy for them, but that's just my personal opinion. 8-)
You want to get a really surprise? I invite you to search an interview with Franco Corelli an d Borgit Nilsson... is the video here at youtube where you can listen singing and speaking to him... BUt agree with drde333. Part o the technique of singing is to give the color of the body and all the resonanceyo can give to your voice. BUt basses speaking like tenors...is suspicious!
I absolutely love this song, Non t'amo più. I love that we get to hear Pavarotti speak about it before he sings it. It makes it all the more enjoyable.
Why do people have to compare one singer to another? Its what a person enjoys and makes them happy. Pavarotti has loyal fans through out the world as do other singers. Sit back and enjoy the one you prefer and leave the negative comments for those near and dear to you.
How can you all just argue and argue about who is best. The Maestro is gone, why not just listen and appreciate the beauty of the voice. Listen to the voice. This voice took years of dedication adn hard work. Just appreciate it, if only for that alone. It is really much much more.
All people start naggin in every pavarotti video about Paul potts...i tell u fuck u and fuck paul potts..let him go put a shovel up his ass that would be better
The shots of the town look like Modena. I had the fortune to visit Modena after Mr. Pavarotti had died. Hearing this song reminds me of the master he was.
Nice to see there still are people with ears, taste and wisdom. This is great great singing. Go and type "o holy night" and choose this young man, can't remember the name but he comes up pretty up on the results. Check the comments out ppl praising him.. Unbelievable and funny in a dark way :)
Folks, just to put things clear: I have ears! My comment was ironic, although I think, that, what's happening to Mr. Potts, is a phenomen specific for the time we live in. I've listened to Pavarotti live in Vienna States Opera and I adore his art of singing.
wow, not only his vocal technique perfect but he is so into what he is doing and that makes the perfection even more amazing. RIP Maestro, you are a genius for the ages
I think that some bitch couldnot break his heart,he was married for neraly 40 years to his first wife and his way of talking seemed to me like that he would be the one who impresses the female part,he sounds flirteus, gentle ,like someone who loves to play,a little bit like a child.Possible that some females felt in love to him mostly, than he did.I think he was attractive even of his weight.
nos va a ser dificil olvidar al gran luciano, pero tenemos el consuelo que nos dejo como herencia su voz y sus bellas canciones que mitigaran nuestra soledad sin el EL GRAN LUCIANO
Wonderful Luciano, I believe you cared more for your art than any other. One cannot stop watching your face as you sing, no matter the piece. Every part of you is engaged in expression. Thank you for the glorious memories. We mourn your passing but wish you relief from your distress. We know you are now singing for the angels in heave
When I hear his voice, I feel love and tranquility in the deepest sense. Now I feel bittersweet sorrow for the loss of the greatest tenor of the world, Luciano Pavarotti. Rest in peace. :'(
Thank you Maestro! Your golden voice, beaming smile, and truly genuine love for music, performing, and the people you sang for, has been an inspiration to me. I was BLESSED to see you twice. Both were, of course, brilliant. At this time I can't express my sadness at our loss, the relief that your pain is finally over, or my undending gratitude to you for being the shining beacon of professionalism and vocal purity that I still strive for. Thank you, and May God Bless you and your family
Thanks to YouTube so many people have been able to see and hear the great man from the beginning of his career to his sad end. This is how I'd like to remember him; the beauty of his sound and his heart. He was a king, not a clown.
I am weeping, But I am not sure if it is because he is gone, or because of the power of this performance.......perhaps both. Luciano, may you have as much joy in the next life as you have given in this one.
I was so close to seeing him live in Calgary. But, when we got there, we found out he cancelled. Now, I'll never get to see him live and in the flesh. I guess that he will always have to remain a unicorn; a mythical and wonderous creature that I will never see in my lifetime.
Luciano, get well dear. What would the world be like without you? Colder. Darker. So much less beautiful. But if God calls you home, then go and sing with the archangels. We will hear you again soon enough.
There's no word to describe how awesome this song is...
