i thought they would look strong but lineup is missing cahill, neill, emerton, sterjovski, moore, chipperfield, coyne and kewell (possibly due to injury, although hes in the named 24 man squad), korea on the otherhand look extremely strong, no one missing. but australia does welcome back kennedy, grella, culina and spiranovic. could be an interesting game. i'll be there in seoul in the green and gold army, havent been to korea before, should be an amazing experience, then im off to tokyo after.

ehh not really. I have yet to see Austrailia play a good team in Asia. During the qualifier, Austrailia biggest challenge was Japan. Group A was a joke for the qualifier. Now Group B was filled with skilled teams and both Koreas came out on top. Korean Republic was undefeated and hasn't lost in the last 25 games. the Japanese national team has been pretty weak and aus tied. Korea has had many players going to Europe now. Although it's a friendly and not all of Korea's best players will be there.

funny it's because a lot of misinformation. Chinese newspapers have made ridiculous claims of Koreans claiming the Confucious was Korean as well as The Chinese Letter system was Korean. China felt that this was equal to Korea getting the credit for Duanwu (which is the origin of Dano Festival) as it becoming a Korean holiday. Since then Chinese netizens and newspapers (even in Hong Kong), have been creating such ridiculous claims of Korean stealing Chinese culture.

@2009xellos Perhaps the government's only fault is not taking actions to punish these newsgroups for false information and libel. Chinese and Korean relations could be easily improved (people-wise) if China took steps to clarify the false information regarding these issues. Though, part of me believe that the government is also angry about the Dano incident and is purposely not doing anything. Might also have to do with weakening the "Korean wave" in China since so many Korean things.

Aussie football is a little better than Corean football team in terms of quality of player. you have more players from big leagues mostly by premier league. but, for the tactic and organising strength, Corean football is a little better than Aussie football.

Aussie football got a lot better after Hiddink's coaching (similar to Korea). Right now it seems like Korea has more layers of good players than Australia because we have more soccer history recently. And of course, we have premier league players. About tactics...the quality of players determine the variety of organization the coach can use freely. So I'd say Korean football is better in any aspect. But we are about the same.

The youth structures in countries like Korea and Japan at the moment are on a completely different level to Australia, so in the meantime, will bring through good players far more consistently than Australia will until we get our football structure sorted, which we are only just starting to do now. I see many similarities between US and Australia in terms of soccer development. Both countries where peculiar egg shaped ball games dominate, people are starting to recognize this global sport. In terms of infrastructure, I think Australia has great potential. Australia has great advantage, because they speak English and share Western culture, players are more likely to play in Europe and bring in quality coaches easier. Yet still Aussies are strong team enough w/the current squad right now.
