@berniecoombs I'd agree with that. The sources I used to come up with the details seemed to support what you're saying, too--that Jerry Lee loved Elvis and thought he was being exploited by a number of folks. And he'd know, as they toured together early in both their careers and were friends, at some point.
Roy There is only one book left on amazon so you may have to send them more books. i remember a previous reading of thie peice but it was good to here it again.
@rpVerlaine The thing is available in Denmark, if you can believe it--that's the cool thing about getting something published with a reputable press: they work it. Get it out there. But, truthfully, he was a bit frustrated by the lack of sales. I'm not. I was a teacher at the college level for 30 years; I got a glimpse into the American Psyche. I'd say, from what I saw and heard, I can expect to be ignored. So the interest of folks like yourself is the Whole Enchilda. My thanks and my best, Roy
@blechhh666 How's that Texas drought? Any easing? I do my best to think of Texas every day... of the dry lands of the Comanche and the others who walk where they walked. To send up a sort of prayer to the Four Winds. I spent time in the Panhandle and then near Wichita Falls. Have to say I'd take Texas over Iowa or Florida any day!
@DavidRandallCurtis Yes, I did--post this one--about two years ago when I was in Florida. I thought, with this new camera, I'd give it a re-try. (I didn't feel comfortable with the reading I gave it back then.) Glad you liked it, David. Amazed you remembered it!
I honestly do believe that Jerry was trying to save Elvis but was slandered in the media instead. He was setup, he himself said it.
