VSmassacre Well...true all the facts...But you froggot the choice of equipment too,for example,if the enemy team has build a few level 3 sentries in your way,you can't destroy them with saharan spy set,but with default set might work(Though you should practice a bit on practice aka offline mode)So better getting some items for spy in case of anything...oh and one protip for all newbs or new welcome to spy:Never stay close to pyro!

1. Very low health

2. Uncloak is loud enough to hear if you pay attention

3. Cloak is very easy to reveal

4. Smart players can tell who is a spy the instant they see them (based off they're actions, movements, character choice, and where they are relative to their health)

5. A lot of skilled players now spy check everyone they see

A lot of downsides for a good spy, even if its one hit kill.

@VSmassacre it does require a lot of talent and skill and yes when playing as a spy one can expect to get spy checked very easily but it takes skill and practice. if you can act like the enemy you may get some kills but you will often get killed very easily. patience is needed when playing the spy because you can die very easily. i agree that spies have low health, load uncloaking sounds and the others.

1. AVOID Pyros

2. When cloaking and making your way to the back of the enemy, you cannot simply run through the middle of the battlefield. The battlefield is of soldiers and heavys and you will get killed easily. You must find routes on the side of the battlefield to cross.

3. act and disguise accordingly to the situation you face.

4. be aware of your environment and predict the actions of other players

5.when you choose your knife, there are different ways of playin

@VSmassacre playing the spy just requires patience and a plan. They're a finesse character. Someone who plays soldier more than anything else probably would be a good spy first time around because its such a different mentality. You can't just run headlong into battle shooting your gun. As long as you keep that in mind and don't do stupid things, they're not too difficult to play.

if you are being chased by someone with melee weapon you can run and hide but if you want to kill run towards , strafe left or right and hit your enemy in the sides and mostly it counts as back stab and there are a lot of tehniques that can help killing without problems even if its 2012!
