Yay! Thanks sooooo much for this tutorial. I knew how I wanted to construct my petticoat (tutu) but couldn't think of measurements. This helped a ton :)
dear threadbanger i was wondering if you can do a Tutorial on a t shirt that wraps and ties at the hip and could you do one on a Japanese kimono tutorial.to. let me know if you can thank you and i like videos

@Vampkiki Ah, but I guess very Threadbanger is excited about this news (and Corinne and Rob's wedding), I wonder if Rob is gonna just hang behind the scenes on this one? I liked him and I liked showing my boyfriend that guys can DIY, too!
@SaiKamiKannon yeah my guy wont do that ...but he will cook so...guess its a fair trade. yeah i thought rob was cute and they make a wicked cute couple...i hope they show clips from their wedding. i checked out some of the new stuff, and although i appreciate the new forum showing alot more diy-ers...i don't get the blonde at all.
Thank you for the video. It was very helpful. The got the general idea. I am making a dress that would look nice with a petticoat. I will use your idea but I will just make my sections longer.
I have been making no sew tutus for some time now and never thought of adding ribbon to it. I make boutique style hair bow and have a ton of ribbon. I feel so duhhh right now. LOL. Well thank you for the video it was awesome and I am heading to the fabric store to get more materials and I am going to try this out. I have been trying to come up with a way to make a tutu for myself and I think this is going to be perfect. I will post pic once it is done. THANK YOU MUCH!!!!
im using this to make a few lolita petticoats.itll be easy to convert and make fluffier and longer. thanks now i dont have to buy an expensive brand name lolita pannier.
@CollidingSparks hers looks like a sateen or rayon ..due to the sheen on it..but almost any fabric will work...just make sure that it is one that doesn't frey easily unless you want to sew a propper hem in it ..light weight cottons will work for this project also, but won't be as shiny. velvets, heavy cottons, brocades, etc can all be used for making the tutu into a skirt by lengthening the sections for a lolita or victorian look as well....
i want to make a tutu so bad but i dont have thousands of yards of tulle just laying around but i wonder if you count make it out of something recycled hmmmm...
@BirdieNtheSky think they have some at hobby lobby....but if you have a Tuesday Morning near you, i think they have it, because i went to my tuesday morning and it had those pins in the back
I made one of these for my niece and it's so cute! She's 1 and a half and lives on a farm with my brother. It's so adorable to see her prance around the garden in her tutu!
Thanks so much! This tutorial showed me the tricks to customize a skirt that has been giving me the worst headache! I'll certainly be perusing through theses tutorials for more great ideas.
I love Threadbanger totally awesome, tutorials, this is better than those stringy no sew tutu's any day, and as Corrine said customize your own, thanks for the inspirations!
hi Threadbanger, I'm sorry to ask you such a simple question, but i'm 11 and wanted to make one, i have 5 yards of tulle, each a different color, and i am wondering, what would be better measurements for me because hip were it would sit is 28 inches, can you help me with better measurements? can u please help me fast, i need to make it by this friday.

So i've been watchinq TuTu tuts for abt 2 months now; and this is abt the only one that really helped me out. But how would I qo abt makinq mines BIGGER & FLUFFLIER.?
Hello there! For Halloween this year I'm going to be a sorcerer, but I need to make a cloak (something along the lines of little red riding hood). Could you possibly post a video on how to do that? ^^
muriaal...... I'll tell you how I made a cape for Halloween last year, I shopped the second hand store near me and found a long skirt made of heavy material and slit it up the side where the zipper was and added a collar and a big tab for a button and button hole, and a big baggy hoodie. It was really awesome .... and cheap. Buying fabric like that new is pricey, like waaaaaay over my budget. So anyway have fun, we only live once!....
It would probably be a better idea for people making this from bought fabric to use pieces of fabrics and sew them together to reach those lengths. Otherwise, you would have to buy 6 yards of tulle and band fabric to only use a thin 19 or 6" band of it.You could just buy a few yards, cut out the strips in halves or thirds, and sew them together. Bolts are 45 or 60" wide, and while this worked for you because you used something you already had, the directions aren't really practical for everyone.
Love this but I was wondering if you could come up with a cute skunk costume for an adult my daughter is going to be one and I need an adult version if you have any advice then thank you in advance.
I'm gonna make that for my fairy costume that I'm making. (or trying to make..) if you have any ideas or tips please send me some cuz I'm just a beginner in this diy thing. lol
