  • pop perfection

  • just an awesome song.

  • I was in love with Petula in 1967, I was ten living in Albuquerque NM. I also was into the Monkeys back then. God I am getting old, but how great was she.

  • That was my Era and I feel so blessed for that. Boy how times have changed. I feel sad for my kids and grand kids.

  • I lived 500ft.south of old Route 66 in Doolittle Mo. and listened to this song on KTTR 1490AM. in Rolla Mo. when it was a hit. Today KXMO 95.3 Fm. owned by KTTR plays it from time to time. D.J. Mick and the network are doing an awesome job of keeping the faith over there.

  • I'm glad I finally discovered who sang all these lovely songs I've enjoyed for so long. Talented lady

  • I was lucky enough to live in a great little town in Pennsylvania...Gettysburg to be exact during the greatest explosion of pop/rock of all time....the talent then is beyond comprehension now....Goodbye is nothing when it's all for show....

  • Love the beautiful background twinkling colorful lighting!

  • Happy 79th!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was the follow-up to "This is My Song" Two great songs!

  • They should have stopped her from jerkin' her head when she sings. It looks strange..

  • @SpazChat Dick head,its called feelingthe music!!

  • @whitchie ,That may be true, but it looks asinine...

  • @calihartley2010---penultimate is a fancy word to me the utmost ultimate like what the 60's were hence penultimate. Now you have your SAT Prep word for today.

  • What a smashing talent!!!! Petula so catches the elegant side of the sixties. This sure as hell beats lady buke, buke and all the hip hop rap crap were stuck with today!!!!

  • It would be one quick subway trip for me if I knew I was coming home to this little lassie!!!

  • This music gives me chills :)) Such great production!!!!!!!!!

  • honhonfacundo: why, were you a chick?

  • ella es unica.

  • i wish i was born bc then!!!

  • This lady has such a sophisticated look to her that I am truly amazed that any woman could look this classy as she does. A big WOW!

  • @chuckbuckbobuck There were lots of men & women who were classy entertainers back then, in both deportment & dress. It was a point of respect to the audience to look their best. Apparently the audiences that have evolved since are willing to settle for much less. Maybe Alice Cooper ushered in the era of the freak show concert. Anyway, this is why I'm finding music here & building a channel of 800 playlists covering a century of the good stuff. There's a list for every year since 1900. chuck

  • @alleykat Alas, one's voice changes as they age and she can no do that little trill she does after certain verses on this song. No problem! I am amazed she sings as well as she does at 78. She still is pretty cute even at 78. She was a knock-out in the 1960's believe me as I had such a crush on this little gal from Wales.

  • my god such class! I Love this Lady with all of my Heart! and soul! and a voice that just melts you away" I,ve never seen a better woman in my Lifetime" and I,m 55 yrs, old" I would give my Life to have her as mine" forever ..thank you for this Beautiful video"..

  • @55painterman Settle down, Beavis.

  • Beautiful melody. remind me of my 3 years in London and the Tube

  • This her best at what she does best.I have noticed she doesn't sing

my favorites the same way anymore.I quess I have to pay attention

to her NEW way of singing them.No Problem!

  • Great tune. Petula had the formula for perfect pop tunes for sure. The consistency is crazy!

  • Timeless beautiful!!!

  • My favorite Pet Clark song. Even better than Downtown.

  • Pet is SO beautiful here. Wow.

  • Chills go down my spine every time I watch this video segments. There are days when performers are "on" , even if they are lipsynching and this performance was really on. Hard to believe that this was almost a half century ago. Boy, Ms. Clark looked ravishing in this segment. I am surprised some aliens didn't break into the Hollywood Palance and abduct her to their home planet.

  • @kyolym Yes, the 1960's were the bomb. Lots of troubling events but overall it certainly was the "Age of Aquarius" where America know how would solve all of the world's problems if they would just let us do just that. It is sad that it didn't play out that way but the music and the times were great all the same.

  • Gee,I used to have a crush on Petula. Now that I think about it, I still do.

  • Every Saturday night in the mid-1960's 9:00 P.M. MST time ABC network was one could tune in to all this great entertainment. The Hollywood Palace--who came up with that name?

  • no substitute for great voice great songwriting great arrangement. Pure class!

  • @sarnian59 I second that.

  • I was a lad in the sixtys,,. And wish I could have those years back again . (*_*)

  • Wonderful,what a great talent.

  • The Uber MILF even now 45 years later I get a woodie hearing Petula's lovely voice.

  • Thanks for the post.

  • I still have a crush on her...

  • 1965 I was 10 had a crush on her still have she is magic

  • Dear honhonfacundo:

I wish I could AGAIN be a lad in the 60's, while experiencing it I didn't realize what the penultimate decade it turned out to be and if I had known it I would have been I would have soaked up every day in that decade like it was my last one!!!!

  • @chuckbuckbobuck I always said the same thing. seem's the only way to ever do it is to see it 45 years later in order to really appreciate it and then go back in time with full awearness that your in the sixties and it's all original again.oh well lol

  • @chuckbuckbobuck What do u mean by Penultimate Decade?

  • Dear Scottps:

I was going to see then as well but got my dates mixed up. Saw her in Vegas in May she was great. How was she last week?

  • I am going to see her tomorrow , November 6th 2010 Annenberg Theater , Palm Springs..I'm thrilled!

  • Beautiful woman.....Beautiful song!

    Luv ya Pet!

  • best female singer of all time

  • a late convert airager

but theres no 'probably' about it

is she not still the highest selling UK female in america?

  • Fantastic song, sung by probably the best ever british female vocalist!

  • Sets me back in time....love it!

  • one of my favourite Pet songs - don't you miss the era of the great weekly music variety shows?

  • The lip syncing back in the day like this was almost expected. They didn't even appear to be trying:)

  • GREAT! GREAT! song---this tune puts a smile on my face!

  • Beautiful Memories .. great song!

  • precious video, never seeing it before, thanks Petula for sharing your voice with us,we are delighted

  • I love this song! I see why John Lennon liked her so much!

  • dear honhonfacundo:

I was a wee lad of 8 when Petula bursted onto the "scene" she was great and the 60's was a good time to live in.

  • She makes me Randy.

  • Doctor I need you NOW!

pick me up in the Tardis and take me to see the Goddess Petula perform.

  • ohhh how i wish i was a lad during the 60's...

  • @honhonfacundo me too. but, the f••king "flower generation" had to destroy it all. look what we got today?? rapper and crappers

  • @honhonfacundo me too. but, the f••king "flower generation" had to destroy it all. look what we got today?? rappers and crappers, fat asses and perverts....

  • @honhonfacundo I grew up in the 60s and there was a special aura about it. Especially after like 11964. The future seemed so bright.

  • @honhonfacundo : Social upheaval? Vietnam? Protests? Drugs? Rising divorce rate? Every generation has its set of problems. People in the year 2050 will say the same thing about our era.

  • @Mufaso1000 yes, it was a turbulent decade, but the music was great - British invasion, Motown, folk-rock ...

Re: Petula Clark - she was a gem back then, and is still a gem. We were thrilled to see her in concert about four years ago, and she still sounded great! I'd much rather listen to her music than a lot of what passes for music on the radio today.

  • @honhonfacundo Now you would be an old guy like me.

  • @honhonfacundo

I was and I would have loved to take my clothes off and closed the door with this beauty.

  • @honhonfacundo I was 15 when this became a hit. I am 59 now, but always will listen to the 60's partner.....

  • @honhonfacundo in those days a boy could show a girl a good time with a couple of bobb

  • wonderful pet lovely song

  • beautiful pet. as everything you do. love always
