When I play this piece properly ( not to fast and emotionally right ) the feeling is amazing. It's easy to hammer it out but to make it sound like Charlie does is rare.
This piece requires a lot of patience and emotion, which is more than most 8 year old pianists can muster, but Charlie plays it like an old pro. Well done, Charlie. I can't wait to hear you play the other two movements.
Very nice Charlie. I have an exceptionally good (brilliant) clip of this piece that also provides all of the history of how and why Beethoven composed it. Did you know that he was stone deaf when he did? Anyhow, if you would like me to send it to you drop me a private note with your email address and I'll get it away to you. Anyone else who would like to have a copy is invited to do so too.
wrote that it was an "easy" work and I strongly disagree. There are numerous traps: very hard to memorize, difficult to play at the right tempo, hard to make the music flow with regularity. These difficulties are part of a "secret and mysterious virtuosity". There is no "showing off" but "feeling right" and that is what you do, Charlie, with great care and beautiful inspiration.......Wonderful video!
I was just trying to come up with the right words to express what klingsor93 has already said so well, so I'll just mirror his thoughts. Yes, this IS a difficult piece to feel and express, and Charlie has done so, brilliantly.
It's been a favorite since childhood. I think I first played it at around 13 and fell in love with the intimacy that's hidden under the surface of it. It only surfaces when it's played RIGHT, as Master Charlie plays it.
I've been trying to entice him to do it but for some reason he's not interested much in Mv III. He used to love fast pieces, but now his favorites are deeply emotional pieces like October, Moonlight ...

Oh wow! Danny Wright has to see this! :) Hey Charlie, how about playing Pachelbel's Canon in D? I'm sure it's going to be an easy piece for you.
Keep up the good work Charlie! And never forget to play from the heart. <3

Hi Charlie :)
Beethoven is one of my favorite composers and I can listen to his music for hours on end.
I think you did a great job again on this one, also considering the fact that you are still so young!
Wishing you all the best for a great musical career !

To play the music, one has to feel it too and Charlie's gift is so pleasing to hear. Really Beautiful!

So right to the point! This piece really is never a show piece but a "feel" piece. I'm glad that you like Charlie's playing!

Thats very unusual for an 8 year old! I mean, I could tell he was mature from his performances, but wow.
