@mooseheadme It all depends on how much mud is on the wood , one flail roller every 15 - 20 days or so . there are three flails in our chipper so we never have to change them all at once
@timbco475 i was just wandering yall ever had trouble with yallls 630b grapple we tightened the snubber but it still wants to hit the boom same style az yalls
@jacobcarter34 Yes we do at times when the friction cone on the inside shaft the snubber block bolts to wears out. you need to get the new part . than knock the old one off the tapered shaft with a hammer, sometimes you need to heat it a bit as well . then clean the shaft up with starting fluid to get any grease and dirt off the shaft , then re glue yes glue well epoxy the new friction cone to the inner shaft then replace the snubber block and bolt and tighten . good as new
From a West Coast logger to a East Coast logger, "Outstanding video's". My only minor grip is you need to have The Refreshments from Sweden for your background music.(;>)! Micke Muster, also from Sweden, would do in a pinch!
We chip Tan Oak, Doug Fir, Alder and Hemlock mainly here in Southwestern Oregon.
You guys take care. Hope things are turning around for the timber industry back there. It has a little here but not nearly enough.
Awesome video!. I just graduated from Paul Smith's College. I saw your trucks go by all the time. I think you cut on College lands too right? Check out my vids for some of our timber harvesting class.
If this really is a video response to that hippy video, well I tip my hat to you.....classic! Thats just the kind of thinking I admire....bwahahahaha!
no not really it has been a very good unit and a wood chip spiting monster . 16 - 18 loads a day . we have had some down time with it but it has been minimal . and you know as well as i do that stuff is a given in this business
pulp is good it has slowed a bit but canada is taking all we cant send to the mills in the usa. but the bottom has fallen out of the log market big time how is it in your neck of the woods
the log market has fallen out up here to and pulp is still steady, were less than a 1/2 a mile from the loader to the scales, also we get free diesel fuel (off road). weve got it made. good luck!!
the trucks get paid mileage but we spend 6500.00 a week on off road good luck to you . if our market falls to shit we have a stone products operation to fall back on as well
three timbcos 445 exl . 6 tigercats . three dozers , d6n, d6k d4h ,tigercat 250 tracked loader , two excavators a cat 330d and a john deer 350 d and the Peterson 5000 chipper and seven western star tractor trailers but i dont own it i just run the stuff .
thanks Jim, all our wood goes for pulp to international paper mostly , but we run two trucks up to canada for pulp as well. and the flail that comes out of the chipper is run through a grinder and sent as a biomas fuel to generate steam .
oh i have seen guys hard hats picked off their heads before its not funny for the guy it happens to. one wrong squeeze no more head. or a blown hose oops sorry your crushed to a grease spot.
Hey babe, got wood?? Muah
