  • you should sell them i would buy one

  • use a mirror it's cheap.

  • dude with killer rig its best that u use a monitor instead of prism but anws thx for the tutorial!

  • Sony VX cams like this one hv a flip switch behind the plastic covering between the LCD screen and the body. Observe that when we twist the LCD to the front, a flip switch is pressed and activated. Just stick a match stick to that switch. Unfortunately, the left-right is still flipped but makes shooting a lot easier

  • omfg just flip it in editing :S

  • @jakegrady95 this doesn't affect the footage you record at all, just flips what you see in the screen

  • @jakegrady95 Flip the LCD screen that you view while recording in editing... that make's a lot of sense their buddy lol....

  • Can anyone show me a link to where you can buy a prism in this size for so cheap ($37 apparently?). I have been searching and can't seem to find one in that size so cheap. Thanks!

  • Hi, just look for " Optical prism " on eBay! some times they have prism these sizes or even bigger for $35 or less . or look in to " laboratory supplies " web sites.

  • does this also flip it left/right

  • a little magnet is mauch cheaper, and it works perfectly for the lcd

  • ...but not with every camera...

  • ... which cam?

  • I have a Canon Vixia HG21 and the magnet not flipping the LCD.

Anyway I read on lot of site, this magnet solution working with only a few camcorder...

  • ...thanks for the info, I didn't know that

  • @Neshomaniac a magnet doesnt work for all the cameras.. ?

  • @PVCLime ....I think it does. so tell me which cam doesn't...

  • @Neshomaniac ok. I tried my fridge magnets for some days ago. but I will try again soon just for this. but with a greater magnet. then I´ll tell you if it works. I´m using a Canon XM1.

but magnets cant be so good anyways, don´t they corrupt the colors or something? I havent tried my self but, it´s magnets stuck to electronics. :P

  • Cool!Do you lose much clarity when you focus?Did you make the prism case/hood?how much was the prism?Looks Great!
