Even though the oscillating knob cannot come off these kind of fans, maybe you shoud spray liquid wrench down the oscillator shaft wait a while then pull the knob off.
yes and no. It was made a "permanently lubricated" fan, which means it was greased, but after a while that grease dries and needs to be done again. I don't have any, so I just oil it, which is actually very difficult.
Its not that hard there is 1 screw in the back and then the cover comes off you will see a hole nest to the button that you push to ossilate fill it up. the front you just lay it on its back and oil around the shaft I have this same fan running next to my bed every night for the last 23 years. one of the last well made laskos
I have a slightly older version of this fan, the "Galaxy" font is the older style and I don't have the carry handle. The back of the motor is the same though, with the slotted vents.
Yeah I got a 16" Galaxy in brown, but I don't really like to show it off unless asked. I'm not really the show-off type of guy. That fan has a sentimental value and meaning to me, so it doesn't need to be shown as a prize.
My perents bought me that very fan for my bedroom back in 1986; I was about 5 years old then. That fan ran to about 1998 when the motor gave out. I rememberm because I used it a lot, and it was pretty strong.
and belive me from my own expiriance with my own vornado! a rusty vornado is a trusty vornado! i love mine but it really needs a vew paint job! my video didnt even show how bad it really is. in some places ill need to sand down to bare metal just to smooth it out. its awful rusty from the salty ocean air from the outerbanks NC. where i bought it! it works like new! i do plan to restore it back to its original canadian beauty. (its not an american model)but nice galaxy. they are quiet!
Well I don't know why I didn't buy the vornado (i really should have :P) as for the Lakewood, I already have one and don't want another one. the quiet fan was strange, it had a frame around it, so it was a turnabout... I might go back for the Vornado, and possibly the Lakewood. I also saw a Lakewood S-223 at an antique store, but it wasn't for sale, but I'm thinking I might offer the owner some money for it since it was in really good shape.
i like the sounds of that quiet fan. see my video on my premier screen fans they work awsome! i reccomend them! if they are all cheap buy them all and sell off the ones you dont want! id like to see a vid of the fans at this sale you speak of!

Which is your favorite? Blue or Brown?
hurleyboi8787 3 years ago
Blue no doubt, always has been always will
Except for the 16" then I like brown
In fact, don't you have a brown 2151C with pointed blades? I love those, they're sweet. 8)
