@Qtipword I knew that, I wrote it in the description: "Amazing song, too bad it didn't make it on Black Celebration." It was made during the BC recording sessions but they decided to release it earlier to promote the new compilation.
i prefer the demos, before their polished.more raw and emotional, not only here but for all demos in general.IM PRIVELAGED TO HAVE BEEN IN THE 80S FOR MY FORMATIVE YEARS,GO 80S.
It's very clearly Martin who had the ideas for the chords, lyrics, melodies, and countermelodies. If it had been just him doing this as a solo artist, it would have been good, but with the others it became great.
@KINOLOCO1 Add to that Echo & the Bunnymen, OMD, New Order, Joy Division and you might have me agreeing. There are certainly "bests" in the class, but there were alot of good ones.
Same here except I listen to them since 83'. Well, yeah, it's obvious they can't put this on their album. And it sound just the same toward the end. It's just that he did it all by himself.
It's almost a completly different element from the released version, and it's AMAZING!
I've noticed the intro is completely changed, the drums have different pattern, the snare drum isn't as... "Powerful." I don't quite hear a kick drum... The "Organ," I guess, isn't as quite reverbed, and a little higher pitched. The song overall is calmer. I must say, this is probably my favorite demo!
Well, that's because he did it in a simple keyboard in his bedroom ( or where every he did it ) instead of a synthesizer in a studio. If I had his keyboard, I've would've done the same and it would sound just like that.
Yeah, I know. I think he had a home studio or something, and that's where he recorded it... If I'm not mistaken, the keyboard should be a Yamaha DX 7 (Note the bell sound you hear in the chorus, that kind of gives it away).
lol...aw, that's cool. Mine's a cheap ass Yamaha PortaSound PSS-130. Though I couldn't say cheap ass cause it's my sister's that I stole. lol....( She's gonna kill me while reading this. XD )
I love Martin's voice singing STD. Martin singing this live during the Tour of the Universe was such an exciting suprise and an awe inspiring experience. Thanks for posting my comfort song.
@gallagherandres So true. People, these demos were never meant to be heard by anyone but the band who then learned their parts, went out and found sounds and orchestrated it into something bigger with a producer. . Then they record it "for real" Then it's mixed. Martin was probably using a 4 track at home.
why do I like this more than the orginal? I know.

Esta demo es guapa, sonidos básicos de fábrica del sinte, supongo que para después, pasarle la cinta a ALAN y que deje el tema como lo conocemos.
